Candy and the team took us on an amazing journey through Saigon. We went off the beaten track and sampled great traditional food. We also got a tour around the streets with great historical facts being shared. Candy team were very friendly and we could ask them any questions we liked. They also are prepared with rain jackets - lucky because there was a large downfall 2 hours into our tour. Would definately recommend.Fantastic Adventure

Candy introduced us to Ho Chi Minh City with the best possible overview. She's a good story teller and kept us away from the masses (where possible). We booked a tour with candy, but unfortunately I was sick the day we had booked it. Candy was amazing in assisting us with rescheduling with a new tour guide. Our new guide, Vin, was great!! It was such a nice way to see the Mekong Delta. The car that picked us up was very comfortable and everything from the boats to the bicycle option to the lunch was fantastic and relaxing. We had a great day which we enjoyed a lot. But as for the title of the tour, it doesn't really match the tour. All the places we stopped, there were other tourists and often it was the same tourists we saw again and again, even at dinner. That aside, we did have a great day which we enjoyed a lot and that of course, is what matters the most. The bicycles could be taken care of and maintained better, as the brakes were bad on all of the four bikes we had.Great trip, but not non-touristic

We have booked a tour with withlocals 24h in advance and we’re supposed to meet our guide Candy in the afternoon. As you receive the guide’s mobile number upfront I was double checking with her time and meeting point in the morning, but did not receive an answer. When meeting in the afternoon suddenly a friend of Candy showed up and mentioned that Candy does not feel good. So far so good. The only problem was that this friend barely speaks English and had little to no motivation to give us a good experience. He was guiding us to the war museum without explaining anything. He would only answer if we ask a question. For the “fruit tasting” he bought us one orange juice at the first corner. The Vietnamese coffee was missed. In the war Museum he left us alone and mentioned “we have now 70 minutes time and will meet again at the exit”. The tour ended after 2:45h instead of the promised 3:30h. The tour itself can be nice if you have a motivated guide. If not, you can just walk on you own and save the money for other things. Be careful if Candy is your promised guide and do not accept an unmotivated replacement. not as expected

Our trip to the Mekong Delta with Candy was awesome! Candy was very friendly and made the drive to the Mekong Delta seem shorter than it was. She offered up tons of knowledge and perspective about HCMC and the culture in Vietnam in perfect English. Once we got to the river things got even better. The boat ride with various stops was very interesting as you see the entire process of processing coconuts by hand. We got to try some Vietnamese fruits and take a bike and tuk tuk ride. The meal was very good and then we took a Sampan boat ride back to our driver before heading home. Candy’s knowledge of the area and planning helped us beat the crowds and it felt like we were the only people in this remote area. Would 100% recommend booking Candy for a trip to the Mekong Delta!Mekong Delta with the best local!

we found this tour operator via the internet and booked for the mekong private car tour. We chose Candy as a guide who showed herself to be very helpful, prepared and nice. The tour was a pleasant one and for this reason we decided to have Candy for the trip to Cu Chi, the next day. 10 minutes after our meeting time we called Candy to find out where she was. She said she wasn't feeling well and sent a replacement guide. After walking 25 minutes we went to a tourist trap coffee shop where we were basically forced to buy some gifts. Then we went to a touristy art shop where two tour buses were also visiting. Then we walked to the war museum where he dropped us off and said he will see us in an hour. So we walked around and read the information like everyone else. Then walked around downtown. So not sure who he was. It was not right of Candy to inform us after the meeting time that she wasn't going to be there and her substitute was not good as well! Not great

El tour estuvo bien, sin más. Para empezar, Candy NO fue quien atendió el tour contratado, y ni tan siquiera avisó de que sería un compañero suyo quien la sustituiría... Las visitas a los puntos de interés estuvieron entretenidas, el trato del guía "sustituto" fue bueno pero -sinceramente- cabía esperar más de un tour organizado como éste en el que los puntos a visitar están muy cercanos unos de otros y da tiempo de sobra a profundizar en las explicaciones de los mismos. La experiencia no fue tan excitante como cabía esperar.Sorprendentemente, Candy NO fue quien atendió el tour contratado.

We spent 15 days in Vietnam and our first tour was with Candy on the Non-Touristy Mekong Delta - This did not disappoint. The reason I did not write a review immediately, is that I was travelling around Vietnam and moving from place to place. However, I am so pleased I experienced a lot more of Vietnam before I wrote my review as I think I am more experienced to give a proper insight and review of Candy's trip as I can compare it to other places we have visited and experienced. One of the main critera from the other travellers on our trip was that it was NOT touristy. This definitely ticked the box!!!!! A lot Vietnam you can see the creep of tourism and in many places, the places we visited the tourism has had in my opinion had a negative impact but that is a whole other discussion as clearly Vietnam much appreciates the tourism and needs the tourism but it is a fine balance of keeping the natural beauty, the landscape and the hertiage with getting the much needed tourism into the country. Firstly I must review Candy. She was a delight, she turned up on time, the transport was very good. Her English is excellent and during our transport from the hotel to the Delta, she explained about the history of Vietnam and anything else we wanted to know. She was friendly and engaging and had the balance of providing a perfect trip host! The trip - If I had to rate my tours throughout Vietnam, I would put this trip as no1. It was perfectly organised, the perfect balance of a little experience of everything. The lunch was beautiful! I would recommend doing the bikes, not too long and an amazing opportunity to see a real part of Vietnam. The coconut experience, was brilliant and you really got to see the locals in a genunie environment. I cannot recommend this trip and Candy highly enough and I dont often do reviews as I run a holiday business and manic most of my life, but I felt so strongly that people got to know that this trip is worth doing. This tour was everything it said it would be. Our local guide “Candy” (Lin) was very passionate and enthusiastic about her job. She has a very warm and friendly personality that makes you feel like you have known her for a long time. There was only 4 of us in our group that went on the tour. The trip starts with a 2.5 hour ride out to the countryside. But don’t worry, you stop along The was for refreshments, bathroom break and time to Stretch. We had an air conditioned van that seated 16 all to ourself. The van was very clean and the driver very efficient getting through traffic. The same goes for the motor boat ride on the Mekong River. Just the 4 of us with Candy and the boat operator. We saw other boats that were jammed packed with tourist! The tour took us to a local brick making shop where got to see the whole process. Next stop, hop aboard the motor boat for a run up the Mekong and stop at the banana factory to see local villagers turn every piece and part of a coconut into usually items. Tasting the peanut butter coconut candy and toasted coconut chips was a treat! Our tour continued on to a local village restaurant where we sampled a local fish dish and beers. Then back onto the water to paddle a little flat canoe like boat up the Mekong River. Finished off the tour with a walk around of a local vegetable, meat and fish market. Candy was a wonderful host. Her English was beautiful (although occasionally difficult to understand her accent, but that was easier as we go to know her throughout the day). Although the tour has some predetermined stops, she was happy to make stops along the way that interested us (trying kumquat and orange juice, as well as iced coffee from a lady on the street corner) and helping us purchase items that we wanted to take home (cinnamon, coffee) from the market. The two of us booked a tour with Candy to the Mekong Delta for one day private tour. It turned out that she was unable to take us but sent a replacement, Lam, along with some Vietnamese coffee as a gift! The tour was professionally executed and we can certainly recommend it to others. The car was roomy and comfortable which is important as you drive a bit both ways. We got a very good overview of the area and hand a very interesting and good local food for lunch, bicycled around the country side and took a boat ride. First of all advertising this tour as "The non touristy Mekong delta day trip" is straight up deceiving. During our whole trip we were surrounded by nothing but tourists. We did exactly the same trip as everyone else did. That aside we got rushed trough everything by our guide, I got told to hurry up several times. In itself the tour was OK but don't advertise it as non touristy. In hindsight we could have booked the exact same tour for not even half the price when in Ho Chi Minh!We feel deceived

Pro: Very good tour. Candy is a great guide. She took great pictures of us on the bike ride. Her English is very good and has some great historical insight as it relates to her family. The transport out to the Mekong was a nice running mini bus. Would give this tour and Candy a 9/10. Con: Not much here...only thing is price. For Vietnam standards a bit much, for US standards at 290 euro a bargain.took the tour of the mekong

Had a great experience with Candy lots of local knowledge we could never had seen so much in the 3.5 hrs. Even when we were not sure where to meet she met us off the bus not at the meeting place . The War Museum is well worth a visit . So busy with motorbikes even after Candy left us she realised we could not cross the road so she came to our rescue !! 😄 went to the restaurant Pho 2000 that you receive recommended had a great meal for $11 !!! We chose to book a tour to the Mekong Delta during our stay in Ho Chi Minh City. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip, especially due to Lien (a.k.a. Candy :)). It was such a beautiful location and the entire day we literally didn't spot any other traveler. Great way to mix and mingle with the locals!Don't miss out on the Mekong Delta!!
