Didot was a fantastic guide. He took us out on a long day to see Borobudur and Prambanan. He was extremely professional and highly charismatic. Highly recommended for the ones who want to get full insights of Yogyakarta while exploring the city that is rich of culture and traditions. Mr. Didot is very friendly, helpful, and funny. Adding context and facts about the tour and interests beyond that. He also brought a lot of stuff (mosquito repellent, plastic to sit down without getting wet and dirty, cold mineral water, etc.) that we might need to ensure that we felt comfortable during the trip. We had a wonderful day with Didot visiting Borobudur and Prambanan. Didot gave great advice in advance of the tour, making sure we booked our tickets for the correct date and time. On the day of our tour, he was on time and smiling from the early morning. Didot is very knowledgeable about both temples as well as Indonesia as a whole. He speaks excellent English and tells very fun stories about his homeland. In hearing our interests in local foods, he took us on an unscheduled stop to his friend, a beekeeper where we got to learn about and taste the honey from his hives. We are a family of four, with two teenagers. We booked Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple Day trip. Didot is a great guide. He grew up in Yogyakarta and knows very well all sites in the city and in its surroundings. He explains history, philosophy, arts and food. Didot has a degree in technology and you can discuss with him this topic, too. Our tour with Didot was over extremely fast. He’s a great host. Not only during the visit, but equally well before and after the tour. He provided tips about transport, restaurants and music. I had an amazing day and a half with Nurul and Didot. We had lunch in a secluded spot by the Sri Gethug cascade and headed to the beach afterwards. The place was really quiet and beautiful, and Didot and Nurul took care of everything: setting up the camp, cooking delicious food. The first day we got picked up early in the morning at 08.00. We stopped at the high school. That was really awesome! After that we went to the waterfalls, they were amazing!! After a good climb we managed to reach all the waterfalls. In the afternoon we went to the beach and in the car we exchanged some Dutch words. Do you guys still remember? Thank you for the great experience. We didn't feel like foreigners but really like locals for 2 days! The experience started by eating goatmeat as lunch, tasted great! Then a short hike to the waterfall, where we were climbing and playing like children! After that we went to the beach, enjoyed the view and the sunset. The chicken and the potatoes on the bbq were delicious! At 5am we hiled to the rocks to see the sunrise. Unless it was cloudy the sunrise was beautiful. At noon Nurul and her husband Didot fetch us for a trip across the southern mountains of District Yogjakarta DIY. A winding road leads us through dormant villages and late afternoon we arrive at Pok Tunggal Beach. After the tents are pitched at the campsite we start cooking for dinner. Enjoying our meal by the dim light of lanterns old Javanese stories are told and finally we go to sleep. At daybreak we start for a stroll along the cliffs where on top we watch sunrise having a hot coffee or tea to wash away the sleep in our eyes. Breakfast on the beach… As the Indian Ocean hides lots of local histories, amongst them the fairy of the ruthless Queen of the SouthSeas claiming human sacrifices, we do not dare to take a swim in the sea. Next we continue our journey to Sri Gethug a wonderful gorge in the middle of Gunung Kidul. On a selfmade raft we drift through the canyon to stop at a waterfall where cristal clear water, cools down our body and soul. The sound of purling water surrounds us. Some say in the distance one can hear the gamelanplayers strike the gongs. Giant lizards cross the river and birds sing endless songs, allas after a delicious lunch the voyage ends and Nurul & Didot bring us back home…. My full day temple tour with Didot was awesome! He was kind, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture, folklore, religion, and points of interest regarding the Indonesian people and was great at explaining it all in English. We were blessed with incredible weather and low crowds, but even if we hadn't been so lucky, Didot made sure we had great food, water, and his childhood friend Jovi, who was our driver, was always ready for us with the car and a smile! If you are looking for a professional guide leading you around Yogyakarta, Didot is your man. Didot is super passionate about the history of Yogyakarta and keeps sharing great stories. His English is excellent and he always keeps you interested in learning new facts. We took our time at some spots which resulted in a delay of our schedule but this wasn't a problem at all. He all made it work out and we didn't need to miss anything. I honestly expected that visiting Borobudur wasn't so interesting anymore because you cannot climb the temple walls. However, compared to my visit in 2014, where I could climb the temples and hired a "resident" guide showing me around, I preferred our tour with Didot. Even though we couldn't climb the temples, Didot explained so much about the history of Borobudur that I didn't feel we missed something. The tip of the iceberg was the hidden temple in Pramanan complex that was visited by very few people. When we arrived here at the end of the day around sunset, there was just one other group of 5 people strawling around. Thank you so much for this wonderful day Didot. Just book this tour would be my short advice. Do not let the early start scare you off, as it is so worth it. Now the long version. The booking was already a good experience, as Didot was quick to answer and explain everything. We let him know the hotel and he picked us up. We started at a local place to pick up breakfast, with so many choices. On the way to the sunrise Didot started explaining about the tempels, about the Indonesian culture and traditions. Amazing how much he knows and he tells all the information really well. Then to Borobudur, a Buddhist monestary (very peaceful!), lokal market visit, lunch, the water castle (with also the information about the underground mosk) and finally Prambanan, plus the grounds around it. Never during the day did we feel rushed, he gave my husband all the time to take pictures. It is a packed programme, but even at the end Didot still was enthousiastic. I would not have wanted to miss anything from this day, all places are unique. But if you think it is too much, Didot will change the plans. The only sad part is we did not get to meet Didots wife. I could not have imagined a better day than this thanks to the tour organized by Didot. Thanks to him I was able to really enter the atmosphere of this wonderful country, visit the wonders of the temples, of the sunset from one of the most spectacular points of Indonesia, and of the most characteristic and less touristy places in Yogyakarta and its surroundings. He has always been available to fulfill every request and always ready to give you detailed explanations on the history, culture and curiosities even less known to most of the places visited. The tour also includes tastings of the best local dishes, from breakfast to lunch. Visiting Borobudur and Prambanan with Nurul was an amazing experience! It was a really packed schedule, and unfortunately the clouds where so thick that we couldn't see Borobudur from the hill where we watched the sunrise, but otherwise the day couldn't have gone better. Nurul was really nice and super knowledgeable about the temples history. I was really entertained by her retelling of the myths illustrated on the walls, and she made me try amazing food at lunchtime and delicious fruits in the afternoon. We had such a great day with Nurul. It was a very early start but so, so worth it. Nurul took us to a local bakery and we picked out some delicious treats for breakfast. The Borobudur sunrise was fantastic, we watched it inside the temple which we really enjoyed, despite a bit of a crowd. By the time Nurul was showing us around the rest of the temple and telling us really interesting stories about Buddhism it had got really quiet lower down and felt like we had the place to ourselves. We went around a another temple and to a market where we picked up some delicious fruit. Lunch was really delicious and vegetarian friendly for my husband. We took bikes around Prambanan, I'm bad on bikes and was slightly terrified, but Nurul was very patient and didn't laugh at me! The sunset at Prambanan was beautiful, We ate fruit while we watched it and chatted. We only had one full day in Yogyakarta and we honestly couldn't have spent it in a better way. We got so much out of the day and learned and experienced so much more than we could have done if we had done it by ourselves. Nurul was so knowledgeable, friendly and patient and we enjoyed our day so much. Yes, it's a long day. But it's so, so worth it and the memories will stay with us forever! Just make sure you grab sleep in the van when you can! Just the best day

We booked the borobudur sunrise and pramadan sunset with Didot and had a great day. He knew everything about the tempels and told great storys about the skulptures. I had a great time with Didot yesterday. He was warm and friendly. I was impressed with his knowledge of the temples we visited (Plaosan, Sewu, Lumbung, Bubrah and Prambanan) as well as his understanding of the processes involved in the restoration work that is going on. I booked a sunset tour of the Prambanan temple complex with Didot. He came to pick me up at my hotel on time and I immediately felt at ease with him. Not only is Didot an easygoing and friendly person, he is very knowledgeable and guides you through both the Sewu and Prambanan temple complexes telling you many tales from both Hinduism and Buddhism and explaining the intricacies of the connections between both religions. Didot is proud of the heritage on Central Java and his descriptions of the carvings at Prambanan, notably those depicting the epic Ramayana are so vivid that if you close your eyes you can almost imagine the story unfolding right in front of your eyes. The visit was truly special and I would highly recommend Didot to anyone visiting the area. Next time, I will make sure I also choose Didot to visit Borobudur!The best guide in town!
