Thami was an absolutely brilliant host. He catered to our needs beautifully and made sure we all had the taste of Tangier we were after. The Kids shopped, we soaked up the markets, culture and history, and he even ensured we could grab a bite to take on the ferry back. Amazing local tour of Tangiers with Thami. We only had a day in the city (cruise ship stop) but we got to see all of it thanks to our expert & professionally qualified guide. The history and the culture here in Tangiers is incredible and we even got to learn a few Arabic words during our walk. And the local market (the one for real-life locals) was absolutely sensational and a real must-do for anyone who loves photography. It was an absolutely feast for the eyes! We ended our tour with a beautiful & delicious local lunch. We loved our time in Tangiers! Thami was excellent & professional and we can highly recommend him- we got to see and learn so much detail that we would have missed had we just wandered around by ourselves. We also felt safe at all times and we weren’t bothered or pestered by people trying to sell us stuff. Four of us had a private tour with Thami that was wonderful. He communicated with us ahead and time and was always quick to respond. He has a lovely manner about him and is very knowledgeable. He is a good story teller and we enjoyed learning about his beautiful country. The camel ride along the beach was an absolute highlight, as was the welcome to the country with mint tea and a traditional Moroccan treat at a lovely view point. This was our first time hiring a guide and, and wow, what a difference it made. Thami honed in on our love of learning the history and culture and taught us many things as we walked through the city. We were enthralled by the many beautiful doors so Thami made it fun by taking our picture by many of them. Best of all was getting to meet the artisans: first the owner of the spice shop and learning about the oils and spice blends and then the owner of the textiles who showed us a working loom and the many types of yarn and thread used in their amazing weavings. He also treated us along the way with mint tea and then recommended a lovely spot for lunch that had so many authentic dishes to choose from, including variety plates of salads and desserts so we were able to sample many things in one meal. I highly recommend Thami as a guide and recommend having a guided experience as worth the money!

We just spent the day with Thami guiding us on a cultural and historic tour of Tangier and thought he was wonderful in his knowledge, authenticity, and kindness. He met us at the ferry terminal, escorted us through the new and old city, referred us to a great traditional lunch stop and patiently waited as our group randomly stopped to look at trinkets and goodies. We weren’t sure what to expect, but found the city and its people to be a lovely experience and Thami was a great help in guiding us through our day. Thami was an excellent guide. We only had one day in Tangier so he made sure we got the most out of our 3 hours and shared some history along the way. He was much appreciated. You will need to be able handle stairs and hills to fully experience the area though.A wonderful experience!

We have been going to costa de la luz for years and had never taken the tangeri trip as we assumed it wouldn’t be particularly interesting - how wrong we were!! We took the 9am boat from tarifa and thami met us with his big smile from the boat 😊. From there we wandered up and down between the Medina and the kasbah, listening to his explanations of the unique history of the incredible city and the country too, as well as an insight into the daily culture and meeting so many different people. Thami even embraced one of our kids’ School Project to do a vlog about the trip!! Time flew and we loved it all, we said goodbye and went on for a wonderful lunch in a place Thami suggested and a wander around the Medina and souk until our return ferry at 6pm. In case you’re wondering if it’s worth it - my answer is DEFINITELY if you have the right guide, and we had the best 🤩Great trip to tangier

As much as I would like i give a positive review I cannot. I purchased a private guided tour in a car with guide and driver. When I met Thami at the cruise port he immediate told me there would be 8 people for 3 hours and then 4 people on my tour for an additional 1 hour. The other two women insisted on returning to the ship at the end of 3 hours, which we did. I was confirmed for 2 people and private for 7 hours. The first 3 hours was all walking up and down hills, which I was not informed of before booking this tour. I could not do that and so I sat on a bench for 2 hours until a driver picked me up. I totally missed the Medina market which was a highlight of Tangier for me. I was totally mislead. I specifically wanted a private tour so I could tell Thami exactly where I wanted to go and see. I also missed the Jewish synagogue, which was on my list. very disappointing

Thami was our tour guide in Tangier. He has an infectious personality, which put us right at ease. He was extremely informative about the history of the city and the buildings. We were grateful that he took the day away from his new baby and family celebration to show us around a charming, historical city. A once in a lifetime trip for us. He was most accommodating when people wanted to see things that hadn’t been planned. His goal was to make all of his clients happy and he never rushed us. We booked Thami very last minute (2 hrs before we arrived) and we moved the meeting point, but he was ready and waiting for our excellent guided tour. He explained everything clearly but not in too much detail (we had two kids who could tire easily) and showed us around Tangier whilst also tasting the odd local snack en route. He was knowledgable, kind, friendly and helpful answering many questions and making us all feel at ease for our kids first trip to Africa. Highly recommend. Thami was great!

Wir haben eine Tour durch Tanger mit Thami gebucht und insgesamt einen angenehmen Tag erlebt. Thami war wirklich freundlich und man hat ihm seine Faszination für die Historie seiner Heimatstadt absolut angemerkt. We booked last minute and were very lucky to find Thami had availability. We spent 3 hours walking and talking (and eating & drinking) at all the local spots. What was unique and most amazing on this walk was how much knowledge and love for the city he has. Many tours bounce you from spot to spot on a schedule often missing small moments or chances to sample local feeds, conversations or experiences. We drank coffee, ate fresh olives and dates, visited with Argan oil experts and even spent time watching and being shown working looms in the textile streets. We finished with a perfect view, mint tea and Thami giving us a final authentic experience at Cafe Hafa. Theres no question he loves this town and it loves him right back, he was greeted almost every five minutes and his friends and local business partners welcomed us in, shared their stories and products and made us feel at home. We took a three hour walking tour around the Medina, Kasbah and surrounding areas in Tangier with Thami. I would totally recommend Thami as a knowledgeable, experienced and fascinating guide. Thami was a wonderful tour guide. We had to get a later ferry and he was able to accommodate our later arrival. We wandered around and tasted the foods that the locals eat during their daily life. Thami was a fantastic guide. I booked his tour only about two hours before it began because I planned my visit last minute, and it could not have turned out better. Thami hat uns vorher empfohlen, nicht nur eine Altstadttour zu Fuß durch Tanger zu machen, sondern zusätzlich Cap Spartel und Asilah mitzubuchen. Der Aufpreis für den Privatbus (wir waren 8 Personen) war sein Geld in jedem Fall wert. Omar war ein umsichtiger Busfahrer und der Mercedes-Bus ein 15-Sitzer neuerer Bauart, vollklimatisiert und sehr bequem. Thami hat uns zunächst Asilah gezeigt und mit seinem Wissen über Kultur und Geschichte, Land und Leute und Religion beeindruckt. Er betreibt auch eine Sprachschule, sein Deutsch war hervorragend. Asilah und damit unsere Ausflugserweiterung ist absolut empfehlenswert. Auf der Rückfahrt waren wir in Cap Spartel, absolut sehenswerter Park und Leuchtturm mit Meerblick. Dann noch gut 90 min durch die Kasbah und die Medhina, wo er uns immer wieder kleine Ecken und Plätze gezeigt und erklärt hat, die andere Touren wahrscheinlich nicht zu sehen bekommen. Es war ein sehr schöner Tag. Großartiger Tag mit persönlicher Betreuung

What can you see in any town if you only have a couple of hours? Not much... Is it even worth it to bother? Well... book a 2 hours Kick Starter Tour with Thami and let him surprise you. Thami is a reliable guide. He picked us up from the port after waiting for us for over an hour. Important tip: make sure you stamp your passport on the ferry, otherwise your disembarkment will take for ever! The walk was pretty fast, but Thami made sure that we were able to keep up with him. His knowledge and passion about the place is impressive. We could not stop anywhere for long but had a nice break at Cinema Rif Cafe. It is well deserved after climbing the hills of Medina. You will be given access to cafe's Wifi so you can post hot of the press snaps of Tangier while enjoying a cup of fresh, strong mint tea. Great spot. And then comes the visit to Tangier's fish market. If like us you haven't been to the Orient you will be greatly impressed. Hustle and bustle of this place is difficult to describe. The noise, colours, flavours and smells and friendly traders tempting you with their exotic catch. The taste of fresh oysters offered to us (courtesy of Thami)... was a cherry on this amazing cake! We met at a cafe in town. Thami ask if we were ok walking briskly. My wife and I are both pretty fit so we said that would be great for us. He guided us through the city, and took us through the markets. He stopped by a looming shop to show us how the rugs, blankets and scarves are made. My wife bought several scarves. Also, there was a stop at an herbal medicine shop. Merchants in the markets are quite pushy, the corridors very narrow, and there is a lot of activity. At the end of the tour he dropped us off at a restaurant, although we said we were not hungry, Thami pointed the way out, and he left. Before we knew it there was an entire meal in front of us, which we just nibbled at. You have to be very assertive with your “NO” in Tangier. Thami also didn’t say the restaurant was “cash only”. We don’t carry cash and refused to use an ATM is that area, so the restaurant owner took us to a nearby shop, I’m guessing he owned as well, and charged our Visa. This was a hassle. Thankfully I have cellular service and could use google maps to get us back to the cruise port. We didn’t mind the pace of the tour but didn’t appreciate getting dumped off at the end. The stops in market feel like your being handled but that’s the whole vibe of the Tangier market. The hustle and bustle of the Tangier streets not for everyone. Fast paced walking tour

We visited Tangier for a day via ferry from Tarifa. We had booked a walking tour with Thami and enjoyed the tour and his company immensely. Thami is a top class guide and is full of information about the history and culture of Tangier and Morocco. We had complimentary mint tea enjoying the views from the terrace of the Hotel Continental followed by lunch at a very nice restaurant picked out by Thami. Then we enjoyed a walk through both old and new town areas discovering parts of the city that I know we would never have found on our own especially in the wonderful medina. Thami seemed to know everybody! Visits to spice and fabric shops were included but with no pressure to buy.
