It was our first time in Belgrade, so thought it would be good to get some local knowledge. We asked our guide Brana to meet us at our hotel, and from the first minute, it was like chatting to an old friend. My wife and I spent the afternoon walking around the city with Brana, and she took us to many places that we would never have found as tourists. She is very knowledgeable, her English is excellent, and she was able to tell us about the history and architecture of the city, but also more modern subjects like urban art. We had stops for local snacks, food and drink, all at her favourite haunts. We had such a lovely afternoon, and getting the basic geography of the city, plus recommendations from Brana, set us up for a great couple of days. Brana showed us many nice places where we enjoyed good street food. Her knowledge about history and culture for me was as important as to get to know places where we can eat and drink during our longer stay in Belgrade. In this 3h we made a walk of nearly to 10 km, because we enjoyed it to see a lot of the core city. Me and my 6 friends from Denmark had a lovely time with Brana. Even though we were a large group, Brana managed to engage with all of us collectively as well as individually. Had a great tour of local sights of Belgrade with Ivana. Initially there were some misunderstandings because i cancelled the tour and later rebooked. But it was all sorted out and it was all good at the end. She even called a taxi for me which i really appreciated as its hard to find a taxi here sometimes due to crowds - peak season. Brana was great. She gave us a solid orientation to the city while communicating, clear-eyed, how much she loved her hometown. She answered all our questions with humor and facts. Belgrade was the final stop of our journey in Serbia and it was really good to have Brana guiding us through this intriguing authentic city. We stayed in Belgrade for two full days. Prior to the trip we had already come to the conclusion that it would be best to arrange a private tour for our very first day as we assumed that a guide could also provide us some additional guidance on what to do and what to see after the tour and on our second day in Belgrade. We had decided to contact Brana as we expected her, based on her profile, to be the best guide to tell us more about the history of Belgrade and its culture. It turned out that choosing Brana was exactly the right thing that we could have done as Brana told us everything about the city, its history and its population. She also took us to very interesting places we normally would not have noticed or visited. Right from the start we got to know Brana as being super friendly. With her knowledge and personal stories she really managed to add an extra dimension to the tour. Next to this it should be said that Brana has a pleasant way of communication and she really puts in an effort in making sure that people make the most of their time in Belgrade. We did have two tours with Ivana. No matter if you were looking for a historical or mountainous trip, religious, or fun, Ivana is the best guide for all trips. If you want to have the real test of the Balkans, including wine tasting, restaurants, monasteries, churches, museums, and mountain hiking, Ivana is the right choice. Very knowledgeable, beautiful young lady, with many different skills. On the first trip, we wanted to have a religious trip through the Orthodox Monasteries of Serbia and Mount Negro, in addition to wine tasting and Serbian barbecue. We really enjoyed our trip. Ivana has many connections with the nuns and monks, so we can have nice spiritual time talking to them. We enjoyed the mountains and that was our main reason for returning on the second trip. One friend of our group loved the Byzantine Serbian Icons in St. Sava Cathedral, she asked Ivana if she can arrange private lessons for Byzantine Icons Painting. On the same day, it was arranged through Ivana's connections with a nice Byzantine Art Professor. Our friend extended her stay for another five days to complete the course and returning back this coming December. This is the secret about Ivana "Connections and Connections". Four months later, we returned for the second time, but this time was more hiking and cultural trip. We really enjoyed Serbia with Ivana, and we feel we are home, and we still have many things to enjoy and to return for. The country is great and Ivana makes it the greatest trip to enjoy. The Country is secure, beautiful with spectacular scenes, nice people, and great food. I won't spend much time telling about the Serbian History and the Orthodox Monasteries, but visiting Serbia with Ivana makes tasting the history is different. It was a great to meet Brana, who is an extraordinarily capable individual. My partner & I were not confident navigating Belgrade on our own and she transformed what I feared what would be a challenging day into a delightful and interesting tour. We were only in the city for the day and wanted to make the most of our time there. We needed a flexible schedule that worked around us and meant Brana had to deal with a few "Logistical Curveballs" she handled these difficulties with effortless grace. I want to mention price, because initially I did wonder how things were going to turn out and if it would be "worth it." I am pleased to say it definitely represented value and I shouldn't have worried. We were in excellent hands and had a wonderful experience. Although in hindsight we should have spent more time in Belgrade! I hope we can get back soon to see more. Tour was ok but no more. Lots of walking to see a few sights. Most of what we learnt was us asking questions rather than being told about things. Was supposed to have a drink and some food included. We got a bottle of water from a shop during the tour and no food. Tour ended 20 minutes early for some reason. Ivana did help out booking a meal for us and gave a few web links to a few places, but overall not the best tour we have had, especially at the price we paid. Maybe Withlocals are starting to charge too much. Used to get good value for money, not anymore.An ok tour

In July, my teenage daughter and myself booked a walking tour through Belgrade with Brani. Before the tour she asked what we are interested in and what kind of things we want to know. During the tour she gave us a lot of insight not only into Serbian culture but as well into the history of the city and included our wishes into the tour. Brani is very knowledgeable, has a good sense of humor and speaks great English. We enjoyed the tour a lot and she even overspent the booked time to show us something special. I’ve visited Belgrade as a kid many times but I was too young to recall much in addition, the city has changed a lot since then. After many years, I wanted to revisit Belgrade and get an in-depth tour of the city. Driving tours are too fast and group tours are cookie cutter highlights of major tourist attractions so I went with a private walking tour to actually get to know the city beyond the surface. I booked a tour with Brani and wanted to see Old Belgrade along with the new developments (Waterfront). Brani had a lot of historical, practical and useful knowledge to share every step of the way. The next time I visited, I wanted to see New Belgrade and Zemun to see the contrast between a planned communist section of the city vs. an improvised city that has been rebuilt many times throughout history. The third time I wanted to see the neighborhoods close to the center like Senjak, Dedinje, Vracar and Dorcol. I learned a lot from the tours and got to know the city really well. The only regret is that I should have taken notes because there’s a lot to take in. The next time I visit, I’ll book another tour with Brani because I was more than happy with the previous ones.Historical, practical and useful knowledge

The tour with Brani is great for both travelers and Belgrade fans who want to step off the tourist path. I travel a lot and most of the time I take one day to tour with local guides and Brani is one of the greatest guides I ever had. Though I was born in Mostar and I live in Vancouver, I keep returning to Belgrade. And the tour was a pleasurable discovery as Brani showed me hidden Belgrade - Belgrade that I have never seen before. During the tour we saw many different places - breweries, art galleries and architecture from different periods including also an overview of “brutalist” architecture. I started loving Belgrade in a different way. At some point we took a legendary red tram No. 2 and went to Kalemegdan fortress. I’ve been at Kalemegdan many times, but with Brani I discovered many new interesting places around the fortress and in the park. Brani is intellectually charming and very knowledgeable about Belgrade, art, history and many details that you can’t google. After the tour, I sat on a bench nearby, trying to recall every detail, every nugget of information. Overall, I left feeling like I had made a friend! There's quite a few books one could and should read as a foreigner if interested in Serbia and the region, the obvious Ivo Andric, or, for experts, Momo Kapor, who wrote the guide to the Serbian mentality. Beside this uplifting memoir on the local soul, his magic of Belgrade encapsulates the joie de vivre of this city, but whether have read yet or are about to, the city tours given by Brani are the footprint equivalent of those literary classics. Amazing day
