We enjoyed our food tour of ‘ten tastes’ in Berlin with Thiago who did a good job considering he explained he wasn’t feeling great when we started the tour. In heavy snow (beautiful!) we wandered the suburbs of Berlin and ate a variety of foods. There were some interesting tastes included on the tour, which wasn’t quite what we expected. We had expected the best of traditional German cuisine but Thiago explained that much of the fast food was traditional. Overall we felt the Experience was a little expensive but interesting. Ways to improve the tour would be include some drinks (even water) as lots of the food was high in salt. On previous European food tours seating was reserved ahead of arrival and food was higher quality, but in hindsight the cuisine in Berlin was unlikely to match the likes of Thailand or Rome!Food tour in Berlin

Uygur took us to several great places to sample Turkish and Lebanese foods. Every dish was very tasty and Uygur went out of his way to make sure that we were tasting foods that we had not tried before. At the meet-up spot, we met with Diago who informed us that Violetta was unable to come and he would conduct the tour. He was a lovely person, but I spent time looking at the profiles of withlocals tour guides and chose Violetta specifically. I am mentioning this as it does effect my rating on the tour already not being what was advertised. The tour was well done and Diago took us to various spots. Lots of different food samples were provided, but honestly, after the second sample, we were not at all hungry. Most of the food samples were fried and very heavy. A recommendation is to supply the customers with water for drinking. Also, more of a variety of foods....some lighter items (not all carbs) would be delightful. It was a good tour overall.Food tour

Fabulous afternoon learning about food, culture, history, street art, opera work from Michele. Great walking tour of the diverse kreuzberg neighborhood. Coffee, veggie Vietnamese, kebab, fancy fries and chocolate, and the Thursday markthalle Neum (food market) were just some of our stops. Kept us all, including the teenager engaged. Tiago was a fabulous guide and all of the dishes we sampled were delicious. Tiago has gone to alot of effort to select the best places to eat in Kreuzberg. There was heaps of food on offer. We actually couldn't eat it all - very generous servings. It was also great to experience the atmosphere + night time activities in Kreuzberg, which was completely different from the Mitte area where we are staying. My mother who is 80 as well as our 25 year old son + partner accompanied us on the tour + they loved it also. So Tiago's tour caters to all ages. Thank you for the great experience Tiago. We booked the 10 stop food tour but was interested to learn some history along the way. Michele and I communicated before the tour and she put together the perfect bespoke tour starting at the Eastside Gallery, continuing through Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. As well as delicious food in very interesting places that the average tourist wouldn't know about, we did learn some very interesting pre/post war history and facts. Michele also kindly gave us some valuable guidance on other places to visit while in Berlin. As there was just two of us it worked out reasonably expensive but was worth every penny.Great Food. Learned A Lot.

We deliberately took the taste of Kreuzberg-tour instead of the taste of Berlin-tour. And we got what we asked for! Very original food from many origins, we never tasted before. And we were used to a lot! Combined with the charming atmosphere of Kreuzberg’s small shops, vintage and start ups, it was a true pleasure. (I should preface this by saying that I've done quite a few food tours while travelling so am coming from a specific place of experience.) Tiago was very nice and friendly. He took us to some great spots that we probably would not have gone to on our own. However, as foodies, we were really looking forward to getting a bit more of the insider/local viewpoint on why certain cuisines are more prevalent than others, and perhaps a bit more context and history to provide a more in-depth understanding and expertise to the food we were tasting. We ended up asking a lot of detailed questions, haha! The food we tried was very nice, and a good mix. We were very full by the end, and Tiago helpfully replaced one of the dishes with a more traditional German dessert as we mentioned that we'd not had a chance to try any and were interested, which was great. However, for the price that we paid per person, I was expecting either more expertise or more bespoke dishes. While it was a very nice experience, it kind of felt like if we had the locations ourselves, we could have just gone around and tried the dishes ourselves and it would not have been too different.Nice food, would have liked more expertise

We had our tour on a wet afternoon in Berlin, but that didn't dampen our spirits. Tiago was friendly and welcoming and tailored the tour to our requirements - he found spaetzle for us. We were also really grateful as he had stepped in at the last minute when another guide was ill. The tour was a great introduction to Kreuzberg, an area we hadn't been to before and also to the wide range of food available in Berlin. So much so we went back the next day and enjoyed a beer in a bar we visited on the tour. The tour allowed us to go to places we would never have found on our own. Would definitely recommend. A great way to experience the food of Kreuzberg

Amazing tour with Michelle. We booked this last minute and to be honest did not look very closely at what we were getting. We were so happy with the results. We got to see a part of Berlin that most likely we would never have made it to. Michelle was a great guide and this was much more than just a food tour. We had a wonderful food tour with guide Michelle. Michelle was very accommodating of us and our requests. One of us was vegetarian and she worked hard to make sure that this was accommodated. My sister in law and I were fortunate enough to experience a wonderful food tour w/ Michele. Michele contacted us prior to our meeting to kindly inquire about food allergies and to remind us of the meeting place. Once we met Michele we knew we were going to have a great tour. Michele not only shared her love of food in the Kreuzburg neighborhood (amazing coffee, kofta, angry chicken, kimchi French fries, etc), but she also shared her experiences living in Berlin. We also loved seeing and learning about neighborhood graffiti art. Needless to say, our afternoon sped by too quickly!! We ate our fill of delicious food and learned a little of the culture and history of Kreuzburg and Berlin. I recommend this tour and, especially Michele, without reservation!!!Great tour!

First of all, in order to prevent "spoilers", I won't mention any of the dishes we had on this tour ;) Now to our experience with Michèle. Before the tour: Me and my fiancée booked this tour for our weekend-trip to Berlin. Michèle was very thoughtful in terms of tailoring the tour to fit special / dietary requirements, she messaged us upfront in order to adjust the tour to our needs. On the tour: Maybe not something others would consider worth mentioning, but the meeting point is easy to find. Anyway, as we met Michèle, we already expected that the tour would be in English (since that is what we were expecting first, because it explicitly says so on Withlocals platform). After we actually revealed that we're from Austria, Michèle was so kind to switch to German, so we ended up having a German tour :D . We really enjoyed that Michèle has such a great personality and was very communicative. Especially the mix between providing us historical details, local insights and just her own observations was a thing we truly enjoyed. One thing worth mentioning, despite a limited timeframe, we did not have a feeling of being rushed, Michèle even stayed with us a bit longer than the defined timeframe. During our stops we were also able to chat about our lives in general and I must say, at some point you just think that you are out on a "tour" with a good friend. To sum up: In my opinion a MUST, if you want to experience truly authentic local things. If I would already know what to expect, I would definitely do the same tour again! Tips: If you can, don't eat anything before the tour :D Some spots have already like a full meal, so the change is quite high that you might become full very fast. Nevertheless, Michèle took care of it as well and we were able to get some food as take-away (which was our late-night snack, later that day ;D)Awesome and authentic experience!

We had a fantastic time with Michèleon our food tour of Kreuzberg for a private group of 5. We chatted before the tour so she knew exactly what we wanted to get out of the experience and she was able to tailor the stops to our preferences. It was a great mix of food, history and local insights - exactly what we asked for! We ran overtime slightly as we were chatting so much. In the end the only issue was we were full by the third or fourth spot! Luckily Michèle was able to arrange for us to take away the last few tastings and we had a delicious late night snack in the evening. We had two vegetarians and non-alcohol drinkers and they were easily accommodated - in the end they were just as full as the rest of us! We are very thankful to Michele for adjusting the tour to our wishes, besides, only a few hours before the tour. We – me and my 16 years old daughter - asked for something “modern and stylish in Berlin”, and we got it! Spent almost 5 hours of a Saturday evening, talking about the history of Berlin and trying different meals at the Prenzlauer Berg. Thanks to Michele for adjusting the tour to what my daughter would like to try. Still recovering from the most wonderful foodie tour with Amelia. She was fabulous, bubbly and knowledgeable and very flexible. She really geared the tour towards what I liked and wanted to see, sometimes going out if the way to show me things of interest. The food was fabulous, again tailored to my wants and needs (no Currywurst!) and interpersed with lots of knowledge and wisdom. There was an open air market that we were not expecting that we took full advantage of and I loved it. We apparently were the first group to try the foodtour in Kreuzberg and that was noticeable. Liz was nice, but she did not have deep knowledge of the area and it did not feel like a tour with a local. We visited many interesting foodplaces, but they could be planned better. Not sure the mexican restaurant place was very Berlin and it was quite far from the other places. Anyway we felt this tour could be improved.Many good food places - medium experience
