I try and do.food tours wherever I travel and this was definitely one of the best. Karen was a fantastic guide, with a great energy and desire to tell us all about Cartagena and Colombia. We tasted a great selection of dishes, from seafood to arepas, to sweets to frutis, and local beverages. She also took us to parts we may not have visited.had we not done this tour. Wonderful communication with Wendy pre tour which helped us tremendously. Wendy even changed her usual meeting point to collect us in a taxi at the port . We booked a food tour of Cartagena with Wendy for our family of 5 while on a holiday to the city and it was a highlight of our trip! Wendy was delightful and took us to a variety of food options. All close together, so not much walking, maybe 1 mile? We enjoyed the different tastes and it appears that Colombians like many different foods with added cheese. Wendy spoke good clear English and was good company. She can sometimes arrange local transport which means you are not at the mercy of local taxi drivers? We did perhaps expect a little bit of history or architecture as we walked around, but she just talked about food. We would recommend Wendy to anyone wanting an interesting food tour.Lots of cheese!

Wendy was onze gids tijdens ‘de 10 tastings’ wandeltoer in Cartagena. Het was ontzettend warm dus erg fijn om zelf het tempo en de stops (in de koelte) aan te kunnen geven. Het allerleukste was dat zij heeft ons heel veel leuke en lekkere locale gerechtjes heeft laten proeven die wij zelf nooit zo snel op straat zouden kopen. Verder kom je op plekjes die je zelf niet weet te vinden . Na de toer hoef je voorlopig niet meer te eten! Een aanrader en Wendy is een fijne en goede gids! Hele leuke food toer!

Karen was awesome. Very energetic knowledgeable and fun. She engaged the whole family - parents and two young-ish teenagers. Great food on the streets although make sure you come hungry as there will be a lot of food! My favorite was the plantain fritter with a kind of very salty cheese and hot sauce. So good. Karen took us on an incredible tour of the city and Getsemani over the course of three hours. We got to see so many parts of the city that we hadn’t been able to yet experience on our own and she taught us a lot about the city and the Colombian people. She’s also just a sweet, genuine person - which came through in all her interactions. The highlight was truly the ten unique courses of Colombian food and drinks she introduced us too, all while supporting small, local Colombian vendors. We had the best time on this tour. We felt so fortunate to have Wendy as our tour guide, she was truly fantastic. There are many food tours & cooking classes available, but having a private guide like, Wendy, was what we were looking for. Since my partner is Swiss & he speaks no Spanish & limited English, Wendy was perfect. He was truly able to understand her & enjoy the full experience. Karen did an amazing job on our food tour of Cartagena! Her English is great and she is a very experienced guide. Other certified guides stopped to say hi to her wherever we went. We really enjoyed the varied look at cuisine in Cartagena which included all of the typical Colombian favorites and many other fun treats. We have 4 kids and they were entertained the entire time, including when Karen presented all of the exotic fruits of Colombia. The coffee shop she took us to was gorgeous and allowed us to enjoy some of the world’s finest coffee. We don’t want to spoil the surprise on all the delicious bites you will taste, but the shrimp cocktail is something you must look forward to! Simply outstanding. Wendy was a great guide in showing us some local foods during our short visit. She met my family on time at our meeting spot. We visited 10 places and tried a variety of different foods. Some places had restrooms which was needed with 2 kids. Some places had different options depending on our taste. Overall, I would definitely recommend this local food tour with Wendy. Tips: - Come hungry because you will be eating a lot of food. - Bring some local cash if you want to buy additional items. We had US dollars and the vendors still accepted it. - Uber operates here and we used it to get from the cruise port and back.Perfect tour of local foods
