We had a very interesting food tour with Abdullah. He was very knowledgeable about all things Casablanca and Morocco history and shared his knowledge generously. I would recommend asking at the beginning of the food tour what the different foods are so that you can try everything, eg raw sea urchins and raw oysters were offered to us but there were no cooked seafood alternatives which we would have loved to eat (and the main reason for us doing the food tour was to enjoy local seafood of Casablanca freshly cooked). Also we asked for a recommendation of a place to buy rugs (I know, what were we thinking) and we were taken to a place which was very high pressure on the sales front and it meant we didn't get to finish the food tour. That was our fault in asking for a recommendation but we didn't expect to be taken to the rug place during the tour, we would have preferred to return to it later ourselves or end the food tour at the rug place. We really appreciated Abdullah giving us lots of advice on other attractions and best times to visit those too even though they were not part of our food tour. Patient guide with lots of knowledge

I had such a thoroughly enjoyable experience in Casablanca with Youssef. I was in town for only one day and had the afternoon set aside for this food tour. I sampled great local foods: breads, tagine, pastries, seafood, teas, juices. In between we wandered through the central market where I was able to buy local products like spices, oils, sardines. Also learned to haggle with merchants for other non food items. Youssef was warm, friendly with a great sense of humor. When walking around, always looked out for my well being. I dislike the term foodie but this is a great tour for people who like to eat and try new things. By the end, Youssef felt like family. Tariq met us at our hotel and took us (4 adults) through the Medina, Tariq explained some of the history of the buildings, how and where people live, go to school and work. We loved seeing the kids being greeted by their parents at lunch time. The area was so full of life. We stopped periodically to sample traditional mint tea and flat bread breakfast, prickly pears, sweets, olives and nuts at a local stands before finishing with the most amazing lunch. Our walking and food tour with Abdallah was very fun. He was flexible with our meeting and time and place, and took us to a food stand, tagine lunch, and through the fish market for oysters. We got a lot of steps in on this tour, walking all through the city, small Medina and the mosque. When we mentioned we were interested in rugs, he took us to an amazing rug shop as a fun pit stop on our tour. Abdallah was nice and knowledgeable, but I wish he had offered more information about the city instead of waiting for us to ask. Youssef did an excellent job taking us to off the beaten path places to try foods and learn about the Moroccan culture and people. We did a morning tour and tried the local form of a donut called svinge. Had lovely pastries, a wheat soup (like porridge), breads and, of course, Moroccan tea. Youssef is charming, full of energy, knowledge and deep love for his country. He adjusted the schedule to our desires and expertly led us thru the busy streets of Casablanca. Highly recommend him!! My tour was with Nassera, as Youssef had a family emergency on my tour day. I had a great time with Nassera; we explored fresh seafood markets, sampled juice and sweets, and had a nice lunch with different types of tagines before sampling an array of Moroccan sweets. Additionally, as we walked along and saw a number of landmarks and sites in Casablanca, we had wonderful conversations about Moroccan life and culture. The afternoon food tour and city sights tour with Youssef was just wonderful! Hanging out with Youssef was like meeting up with an old friend. We met in the art deco area of the city at Cinema Rialto, and he took us to the Central Marketplace for fresh raw oysters and clams then a lunch of chicken and sardine cakes tagine with sides of Moroccan salad, lentils, beans, shrimp with eggs, and fresh bread. We also wanted to see off the beaten path places so Youssef took us to Mohammed V Square and a local bakery (Crousti Pain) for fresh cookies, and we used Petit Taxis to get to the Royal Palace and Habbous neighborhood which was our favorite for seeing quiet residential areas, unique shops in the new Medina area, and enjoying our cookies with mint tea at a cafe. Youssef also took us for a quick walk thru the old Medina to stop in a shop or two before walking us back to our hotel. Abdou was a lovely guide to Casablanca for our first evening in Morocco. He was very communicative before our trip and we were able to customize our drop off. We tried lots of authentic Moroccan street food and got a little driving and walking tour of Casablanca. He answered all of our many questions. The highlight of the tour was when Abdou and his mother Aisha invited us into their home for freshly brewed Moroccan mint tea and a lovely home cooked meal. Tarik was the perfect choice for our afternoon in Casablanca. He was very flexible in accommodating a change in meeting place and was very punctual. His knowledge of the local history is excellent, so much to take in. Touring the seafood market was unforgettable, we had the most delicious oysters, freshly shucked. The tour was an excellent experience. Abdallah was very knowledgeable of the history and architecture of the area. ABDALLAH is an amazing person. My schedule was very tight and I only had one day to touch the key attractions in Casablanca and Rabat. ABDALLAH worked hard to make my trip rewarding and enjoyable. Our short trip to Casablanca was made memorable by Abdou who was prompt in his communications, very knowledgeable and engaging. We had a great time with Rad. We were a party of 7 ranging in age from 18 to 61, and we had a tour on the Sunday before Eid al-Adha when most of the city was shut down due to the holiday weekend. Our original guide had canceled at the last minute and we were able to get Rad. His tour was one of the highlights of our Morocco vacation. Rad is educated, well-spoken, accommodating and flexible. His tour was informative about history, culture and politics. He gave us a few restaurant recommendations that were spot on. We even stopped for tea to help our group recover due to walking too much before the tour. He even helped us to secure a driver to the train station on the day of the holiday when everyone was off. This is our first time visiting Morocco and we are doing so for our 10 year anniversary. Casablanca is interesting and beautiful city with hundreds of years of history. Abdallah took us on a walking tour of the city and taught us both the history and culture of this beautiful land. He took us shopping in Old Medina where you would easily get lost without the knowledge of a local guide. We visited Hassan II Mosque, with the second tallest Minaret in the world, where he took us inside for an up-close and personal tour of this ornate and amazing structure. Near the end of the walk we sat for some delicious local tea and he answered any and all questions we had about Morocco and Casablanca. We spent a morning with Tarik in Casablanca, having communicated that we were interested in history and architecture. Tarik did a wonderful job of tailoring the tour to our interests and was able to point out countless small details - from unique tiling to ornate drainpipes! There was no chance we would have noticed these details by ourselves, let alone understood their significant and rich history. Tarik was warm and kind and was very willing to answer our questions. He had a particularly deep knowledge of historical events and we gladly used this knowledge to explore tangents related to international relations and the development of Morocco through the ages. Casablanca is often referenced as one of the least touristic cities in Morocco from a historical / cultural perspective. We had the most amazing day in Casablanca with Youssef. This was our first day in Morocco and Youssef was happy to answer all of our questions about the country, the city and the culture. He is very knowledgeable about Casablanca and took us to places we would never have found on our own. We lined up for pastries with the locals at a bakery in the Habbous area, we shopped in the Old Medina, walked by the Hassan II Mosque near the coast and even bought fresh camel meat from a butcher and took it to a restaurant where it was grilled to perfection for us, thanks to Youssef. He explained history, religion, and family traditions and showed us a community oven, still in use by the families in the area. We had the most pleasant time on our tour with Abdou. Abdou is respectful, professional, flexible, reliable, and an overall good and honest person. He showed us around Casablanca, giving us a very good idea about his city in a relatively short time (we only had a layover). Additionally, Abdou waited for us because our flight was delayed. Next time we come to Casablanca, we will only have Abdou show us around. Not only did we feel safe, but we also felt like we made a really good friend, while also learning so much about Casablanca. Abdou showed us all the must-see places, and then took us to the market for shopping (per our request). Abdou helped us with souvenir shopping and shopping for leather jackets. It is so important to have someone local by your side (who knows the language and the local customs) when you are short on time and also not familiar with the city. We are very lucky that we had Abdou with us. The time we spent with Abdou was the highlight of our trip in Casablanca and we would not leave Casablanca without Abdou showing us around.
