Antonella was very welcoming and personable. She made us feel a part of the neighborhood. The variety of food was impressive, and she had good stories to go along with each item. Along the way, we also learned about Italian culture, and how each food historically became pertinent to the culture. One of the experiences my wife and I were really looking forward to in Florence was this food tour. I have to tell you that whatever I was expecting was far exceeded by the experience provided by Elisabetta. The food was amazing but made even more so by the context and history she provided. We not only sampled some really amazing fare but we understood how the culture, economics and history of Florence shaped the food they enjoy today. Elizabeth was a wonderful guide and showed us around the less touristy part of Florence. We enjoyed sampling the locals favorite foods and spend some time in the market. We tasted things that we wouldn’t have ordinarily tasted with her guidance. I’d highly recommend any tours with this company. It was an intimate tour with only the four of us and we learned so much! Axel was a very nice guide through some of the local haunts of Florence. He also gave some historical perspectives on the various restaurants and neighborhoods. We appreciated that he went into detail as well about some of the historical figures of the city and where they lived and worked. Most important of all, the food was quite good. He took us to a nice butcher shop for a very filling meat and cheese, charcuterie. We had a nice stop at a wine shop and enjoy the cantucci to start off the tour with a nice cup of coffee. We ended the tour with a wonderful gelato and got a good view of the Arno River as we crossed the Ponte Vecchio, and returned on a different bridge. There was probably one stop that we did not need and that would’ve been the fried food stop. However, I did eat those items the next day so they did not go to waste.Great experience with Axel

For 1.5 hours and tasting only 5 items definitely not worth the money. The tour was suppose to be 3 hours, it’s true we are vegetarians but we pointed that out prior to the tour.. so was disappointing when it finished soo fast. Antonella is a great guide and person It was ok

We were a group of 4, with interests in both food and crafts, so Alessandra was the perfect guide for us ! She was flexible with arrangements so we adapted the food tour to accommodate our other interests. Communication was extremely easy while we were planning, and the meet up was easy too. Alessandra took us to see a silk factory, a demonstration of paper marbling, a goldsmiths and others as well as finding time for food tastes in a tiny bar and a trip to a food market. We really enjoyed our 10-Tastings tour with Christy. It was nice that she was from the States in terms of communication, which made for a smooth transition with this being our first activity in Florence. She explained some good history about the main market, took us to some wonderful hidden gems and even wove in some very interesting historical tidbits as we walked through the city, which we loved. My only critique is that I expected more sustenance from the food itself (I don't know if 3 types of biscotti counts as 3 different food items and this tour leaned much more on the sweet side than salty). That being said we went back to 3 of the spots more than once! If one has preferences on what flavors of foods is preferred, I’d bring that up in advance so accommodations can be made. Good start to a visit to Florence
