Our food tour with Phuc was a highlight of our stay in Hoi An. As a local resident he found all sorts of back alley, non touristy restaurants that we would have never found on our own. He showed us how to eat and mix special Vietnamese dishes from Hoi An. (We had tried one dish before but ate it wrong. -oops) Recommend that this tour is your first day so you can really enjoy the joys of eating in Hoi An Also, Phuc was polite, friendly and spoke excellent English which was very helpful. A must do when in Hoi An

We had the pleasure of spending an evening with Tam and his 10 tastings of Hoi An. This experience was so much more than ten tastings, it was also a nice introduction to the history of Hoi An and everyday life in Vietnam. Don’t get me wrong, the food was fantastic, and the best we had while in Hoi An! But the total of our insight gained on the tour with Tam, by far superseded our expectations of what a tasting tour could be. Tam communicates well, is fun to be with and has great knowledge which he gladly shares. He also takes you to the roads less traveled which is refreshing in the tourist driven old town, and as others have written: we would never have found these places on our own. Ps: visit his mother’s breakfast restaurant, it’s also fantastic!

Tam gave us an amazing food tour in Hoi An. We got to try so many different types of local food. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Thao. This is much more than a food tour - it was like meeting up with a friend, having great conversation while indulging in excellent food and drinks. Thao infused history, personal stories, and trivia as we sampled different local dishes. She also brought us to her grandparents' home where we tried her aunt's personal take on egg coffee, cau lau and spring rolls, which were all delicious! Thao was amazing. She adapted the tour to work around our really fussy child and our preference not to eat spicy food or seafood. Not only did we eat some amazing food - we also learnt about the cultural aspects of food. The places we went to we would never have had the confidence to try ourselves. The venues were super clean and also had great clean toilets! It was great being the only non-locals in the restaurants or street/curb cafes. The locals were really friendly. Thao’s English was perfect and she was keen to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. She even stopped into a cake shop and bought us a traditional cake with pork floss and egg yolk - it was delicious. On top of the food knowledge Thao also told us what to expect for the upcoming typhoon ( which we were oblivious about!) and how to prepare to ensure we would have enough food to eat if the city shut down. Highly recommend Thao. Wish we had more time to do another tour with Thao.Fantastic tour - wonderful caring guide!

Our time was Tam was brilliant. Being with him meant we snipped in and out of the smaller streets as we snaked our way from place to place, passing people’s homes and local businesses, seeing a side of Hoi An we would have missed if we’d been alone. Tam paced us and our tummies perfectly and introduced us to so many delicious dishes along the way. Dishes that our 3 young children went on to confidently order during the rest of our trip. His timing was impeccable, we arrived out onto the river side at the perfect moment, just as the sun began to set and the sky turned incredible array of colours and the lanterns on the buildings and boats began to glow. The tour with lovely Tam, with his easy welcoming manner and local knowledge, was one of our favourite parts of our trip. He also took some excellent photos of us as a family which we will treasure. Loved this food tour with Phuc. Started off at his mums restaurant where we tried 3 different authentic Vietnamese dishes. All were super tasty especially the Bahn Beo. We then walked towards the old town and had many other traditional dishes including Banh Mi, Pho, Bahn Bao. We got to experience the old Central Market too and had a refreshing tropical fruit tea to help digest the huge amount of food. Mein Freund und ich waren insgesamt fünf Wochen in Vietnam und gegen Ende Juli in Hoi An. An anderen Orten haben wir schon einige Spezialitäten und teilweise auch sehr ausgefallene Speisen auf eigene Faust probiert. Meist hatten wir damit auch Glück und haben sehr gut gegessen, dennoch wollten wir die Planung in Bezug auf gutes Essen in Hoi An abgeben und haben eine Food-Tour mit Robert gebucht. Robert war toll und hat nach einem kurzen Austausch über unsere (Food)-Interessen die Tour geplant und uns an Orte gebracht, an die wir selbstständig wohl nie gegangen wären. Das Essen war an allen Orten ausnahmslos köstlich und wir waren mehr als satt nach der Tour. Zusätzlich zur Food-Tour hat Robert uns auch sehr viele Fragen über Vietnam allgemein und insbesondere auch über Hoi An beantworten können. Kurzerhand wurde aus der Food-Tour zusätzlich ein kleiner kultureller Rundgang mit vielen historischen Infos. Touring round Hoi An on foot with Thao, stopping for bites to eat at every corner is much like walking around the city with a old friend.. lots of story’s about the city, mingled with a bit of gossip and history. The time passes by very quickly.. be warned the food amount is defiantly enough to fill you up!!! And then some!! Thao is a energetic, talkative, engaging host and guide, a pleasure to spend time with.. We hebben een fantastische culinaire tour door Hoi An gemaakt met Tam. Hij is ontzettend vriendelijk en flexibel en behulpzaam (regelde snel een taxi voor ons toen bleek dat we op het verkeerde startpunt stonden). Hij nam ons mee naar verborgen plekjes die we zelf nooit gevonden zouden hebben. Het eten was ronduit fantastisch. Tam’s uitleg erbij maakte het nog beter. We zijn al drie weken in Vietnam en hebben overal heel lekker gegeten, maar deze avond spant de kroon. Het was echt top!Geweldige foodtour met Tam!

My partner & I have no regrets having engaged Phuc for our first time in Vietnam! It was a delightful 3-hour food tour that also included seeing sites within the Ancient Town of Hoi An, and all the dishes & drinks (including some awesome salted & coconut Vietnamese coffee!) we tried were delicious. Our bike tour of Hoi A was an absolute highlight of our trip to Vietnam! Our guide, Tam, was exceptional. His knowledge of the local area was impressive, and he shared his passion for the area with us in a way that made us feel like locals. We loved exploring the Hoi A countryside on bike, visiting charming villages and meeting local artisans. It was fascinating to see traditional crafts being made firsthand. The food stops were incredible! We tasted so many delicious and authentic dishes that we would never have found on our own. Tam was incredibly patient and accommodating, especially with our kids. What a way to spend the evening, wondering the streets of Hoi An, with Thao, a local guide with some much knowledge of the town, the region, its people and its food. I happened to bring along a mirrorless camera and was touched that Phuc took so many beautiful images of our family. Wir haben mit Robert viele kulinarische Highlights erlebt, von White Rose über Banh Mi bis hin zu den traditionellen Eiernudeln und vietnamesischen Pfannkuchen und vieles mehr. Robert hat uns vieles zu den Speisen/Drinks sowie Hoi An erzählt. Zudem haben wir auch spannendes von seiner persönlichen Geschichte und dem Auswandern nach Vietnam erfahren. Robert hat die Tour personalisiert auf uns angepasst: eine Person war Vegetarier und ein eine Person vertrug keine Meeresfrüchte. Wir würden die Tour mit Robert zu 100% weiterempfehlen! What a fantastic experience we had!! The food we ate, the sites we saw and the conversation we had was 10/10- would not have been able to experience anything like this without our fantastic guide. Like previous reviews- we were also booked for a tour with Tam- and our guide introduced himself as Tam- but now looking back at pictures- we were with Phuc... He put on a great show and tour so no hard feelings and would have been fine with a last minute change.. unsure why he didn't just introduce himself as Phuc.. Nonetheless would recommend this as a beautiful way to see Hoi An! Great way to see and learn about Hoi An

We truly enjoyed going round Hoi An with Thao. The food selection was awesome, she was flexible in changing the original food tour since we had already tasted some dishes, the food was really good, and we got to taste food that we wouldn’t have chosen if we were on our own. Apart from that, the conversation with Thao was flowing and we got to know more about Vietnamese food, traditions and way of life. Highly recommend this tour with Thao.Amazing experience
