Throughly enjoyed our food tour with Sum Pui! The food choices were excellent and varied and were thoroughly enjoyed by all in our group! The “bonus” were the cultural sites that Sum Pui took us by including several temples, a quick tour of the original Hong Kong Prison, and a ride on the longest outdoor escalator in the world. Sum Pui was also more than willing to share his views on the development of modern Hong Kong as well as developments across the world. Sum, aka Ronnie, was a great tour guide! As a journalist for his other job he was able to give me a great explanation of the history of Hong Kong. We tried an authentic dim sum restaurant/ tea house that has one of the six remaining dim sum carts in Hong Kong. It was truly a place for locals and he explained every dish and the experience of yum cha. We walked the streets around Hong Kong island and he explained the dried food shops. He pointed out many things while we walked around and was very informative. He jokes a lot so make sure you have a sense of humor! We stumbled upon a tattoo shop as I was explaining how much I missed my dog and that I wanted a tattoo of him. I decided on the spot to get a tattoo there and luckily they had a time slot after the tour. He even stayed with me to keep me company during my tattoo! Ronnie and Carrie were very prompt and professional, took us to three Kowloon street food establishments…none of the food was to our liking. We told Ronnie and he tried to explain that street food is not like traditional Chinese food. He kept asking what we would like and we really had a hard time explaining it so we ended the tour early. I think they really tried to give us an authentic street food experience and we just did not enjoy the food itself. Ronnie helped us get on the metro and we thanked him for his efforts. What an excellent introduction to Hong Kong Central. As a first timer in Hong Kong I had lots of questions about where to go, what to eat and what are the protocols around this. All of these questions were answered and that gave me the confidence to get way more out of this trip. Caleb was great!, super easy going and really knowledgeable about the local area and the different types of local cuisine that should be tried (complete with stories of what his Grandma used to do!). The pace of the tour was good and even managed to pack in some key historical sites. The three hours we spent exploring the streets with Angel was the highlight of our trip to Hong Kong. She is a highly knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour and she taliored the tour to our group of four adults and two teenagers perfectly. Without Angel we wouldn't have experienced the incredible dim sum and noodle shops, ventured into a temple, found milk tea or pineapple buns and we certainly wouldn't have learned so much about Hong Kong's history. My husband and I enjoyed our evening with Cosmo and experiencing the local food of Hong Kong. It was a little different than I expected as Hong Kong does not do street food as we had experienced in other cities like Bangkok or Singapore. Instead, Cosmo took us to several local restaurants where we experienced food as the locals would eat. Don't let his initial quiet demeanour fool you, he is a very interesting and talented guy who has adventurously travelled the world solo. It was interesting to learn about his family and see some of his art work. He also told us about the history of the Hong Kong as we travelled around (and took the tram) and it was great to have him talk about the street art as well. I had the 10 Tastings of Honkong: Streetfood with Cosmo and that was great. I had such a good and delicious time. Apart from the restaurants, which I never would have been able to enjoy as a tourist, also the walks and public transport was really great. If not for Cosmo, I would most likely not have used the charming tram for instance. And he showed and explained to me so much about the food (caterpillars, fish stomach, abalones, exotic fruit and many more), that is sold in the little shops and street stalls. He also shared historical and other interesting details about Hongkong, taking all of my questions into account. It was not all about food, also lifestyle, art and other offerings of Hongkong were brought to me. The Yum Cha in the genuine restaurant will always be a special thing to remember.Yummie and only possible with local guide

Cosmo was a very engaging and experienced guide. My metric for assessing him was how he connected well with my teen sons who came away saying the whole experience was awesome! I work with people every day around human connection so immediately recognised and ignored the communication 'rub' and saw and felt in Cosmo someone who 'cared' about his city, its people and its (rich) history and someone wanting to share his unique lens of these with us. My boys have traveled all over Asia since kids and while they were much older teens now their connection with Cosmo and how engaged they were, were highlights for me. They are approaching university age in the coming years so student life is on their radar now so Cosmo's walk and graphic narration through the Soho District of how student life is left an impression on my sons. I truly enjoyed this food tour with Matteo. He’s quite a witty character with a sharp sense of humour. Before we started tasting all those amazing meals, I had been given a brief introduction to Hong Kong’s history which had been helpful as well as Matteo’s patience to answers all my questions. We visited interesting places and restaurants I certainly would not have gone to on my own due to my cultural and linguistic limitations. I’m glad Matteo truly tried to customise this tour to my taste and likings as I sometimes struggle with local asian cuisine. Overall it was a great experience and I could not recommend Matteo more. The Foodtour with Angel was an exceptional experience. On the one hand Angel introduced us to nice local places where you probably won’t go as a tourist. We had Dim Sum, Noodles, Pastries, tea and coffee. The choice was very nice and I recommend to go to the tour with an empty stomach and some appetite. Our food tour with Angel was beyond amazing! First off, we just so happened to book our tour at the tail-end of a typhoon. As we shared our concerns with her through messaging on the app, Angel was super flexible about being willing to play it by ear and reschedule if needed, based on the weather. On the day of the tour, Angel took us to places that no amount of Google searching, travel blog reading, or social media scrolling would ever have led us to uncover ourselves. Of course, the food was all delicious, but it was the diverse tasting of dishes, the rich insights into Hong Kong's history and culture, and the stories and memories shared from her personal experience of the city that tied it all together into a true highlight of our trip. The food tour with Matteo was amazing! He is a funny guy, speaks a good English and knows a lot about his Hometown Hongkong and can show you the best places to get extraordinary food. Angel is candid and a great guide. Very accommodating and friendly. It was like chatting with a friend you have known for ages. She told lots of stories about people, culture and life in HK, including her own. Food-wise, coming from a Southeast Asian country myself, none of the food was much of a surprise as all of it could be found back home for me, but it was really enjoyable having Angel take us around. Spent a lovely 3 hours with Cosmo on the food tasting tour of HK, he took us to some places that we most definitely wouldn’t have ventured into otherwise. Disappointing. I would not recommend this company for a food tour. I have never been on a food tour where the guide had not tried the places in advance, or didn’t provide recommendations on what to try. First, I believe the tour company should have advised us to move the private tour to another day as many places were closed due to CNY. We are not from Hong Kong and didn’t know that places would still be closed. The day before, the guide suggested we move to another neighbourhood to have more selection, which we did. He did not suggest rescheduling to another day. When we arrived, it was apparent that the guide did not have a plan and was wandering around looking for what was open, we suggested rescheduling to another day but he said it was too late. Second, when we found an open restaurant (that the guide had never tried), he did not provide recommendations on what to try. He just said ‘what do you want to try’ and when we asked for his recommendation, he shrugged his shoulders. He even commented that some of the dishes we had were not the best (ie. the goose from this place was prepared too salty). The whole experience was like that - wandering around to random places that were mediocre. Toward the end, he told us that we ‘went over budget’ which made the experience even more uncomfortable. We shared many of the dishes to avoid being wasteful, and it was not our fault that he did not have a plan set out in advance. Ultimately, we could have had the same experience wandering around the neighborhood ourselves and looking up reviews online. I would expect the guide to at least call a few places in advance and have a sense of where he was going to take us, or provide recommendations of what to try. Disappointing as we’ve done food tours in other places (with other companies) and they’ve always been a lot of fun. Disappointing.

We went for a food tour with our 2 kids (10 and 13). Matteo has been really great from the beginning till the end. This tour was not only about food, Matteo shared his knowledge about the city, shops, temple… the fact that he speaks Chinese helps a lot. We had great food tastings in different restaurants that I would have never found (or dared visiting) on my own. I can recommend also as a family tour with kids as distances are short and stories great for kids and grownups alike. Great tour by great guide
