Eri is knowledgeable, friendly and great to talk to. I can highly recommend booking with her. You'll have a great time and will try unique dishes!Great experience
We really wanted to try some Indonesian streetfood, but were unsure where & what to try. We booked somewhat last-minute by writing Erianti on the platform, she was clear & fast responding. During the tour, Erianti did a great job introducing us to a variety of foods - we asked to rather try several small bites than bigger dishes and she definitely delivered! We also told her that we were concerned about eating too spicy, and she tailored the tour to our needs. Erianti was not too talkative in the beginning, but warmed up as we went along. We had a fantastic start with lots of bites in China town, and after that we walked to the Old Town where we finished off with the last few bites. Erianti was super friendly, frequently asking how our hunger level was and patiently answering our many questions. She could make the tour even better if she had included some more explanation behind the dishes we tried.Good way to try streetfood
We were very satisfied with having Adrie as a guide. In advance I got detailed information about how to get easily from the airport to the city, where we meet, how we get back, and he answered fast to all of my questions. Adrie was born in Jakarta and lives there, he told us a lot during our tour, also a bit historical things. We tasted typical indonesian dishes and had a typical Jakarta drink in chinatown, strolled through the market and visited kota tua. We had a very nice end of our tour in the evening with a great view of the „skyscrapers“ in Jakarta. If you have a short stay in Jakarta and do not want to just sit in the Airport Hotel room, i would definitively recommend doing a few hours tour. Terima kasih banyak Adrie untuk tur kota bagus! Food tour and sightseeing
Adrie was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food I tried and about the Indonesian history. I had never done a private food tour before, but Adrie made it comfortable for me. I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes I tried. He made it fun and enjoyable even when the temps hit the high 90s and very humid. Made sure I always had water. I would recommend Adrie to all my friends and family when they visit Jakarta.Great Food Tour
Adrie is a kind guide. He suggested an alternative tour location closer to where we stay, and was there to meet us when we arrived. He was pleasant and interesting to talk to. Overall, we tried a number of new foods. However, I was expecting that he was going to have a plan and have us try a few really good versions of the foods he introduced us to. Instead, it was clear he was winging it. At the first place we went, he even said, "maybe this isn't the best version of it" about the food he had ordered for us. It was extremely busy there, so I'm sure it was challenging. He had us sit in one place and he brought us the food because of the crowds. Unfortunately, that meant most of the time we couldn't see the food made, which in my mind is part of the fun of the tour. He seemed to not know where certain foods were ( he said he was going to try to find things, instead of that he was going to get specific things from specific vendors). We did try some nice foods that we hadn't tried before (we live here), which was good. But this is a very expensive tour for this area, so I was expecting more.A variety of flavors
September 2024
We had a group of 4 foodies ready to explore and taste local food. We experienced 10 different dishes but not just Indonesian food as Jakarta street food is multi-cultural. We were in two different locations in Jakarta, central then with MRT to M area.
In central we tasted dishes from street vendors and in M district we enjoyed dishes in a very nice outdoor food court with. Erianti explained each dish ingredients, cooking methods, and history. She did a great job and helped us navigating gate back to our hotel together!
Thank you!More than just a typical food tour!
Overall, Eri was an excellent guide for my Indonesian food experience. I was staying in South Jakarta during my trip and Eri came to pick me up at my hotel then helped me use the MRT train to get to Central Jakarta. (You need to have a Mastercard and I only had a VISA card) At the end of the tour, she brought me back to my hotel too.
She is a kind and energetic person. We had excellent conversations. She was good at tailoring the food tour for my tastes and navigated the street stalls well looking for the next food for me to try. All her recommendations and food choices were great. I was able to try many different Indonesian foods and had a excellent time overall.
Eri is a relatively new guide, but she looks for ways to improve her tours.Great food experience!
Very good guide, friendly and easy communication. She had us taste a great variety of food. We highly recommend Erianti, she took great care of us.
Excellent food tour
Erianti is an incredibly nice girl and the tour was super! She also met us at our hotel and walked is back. We would never have tried the food and walked around so much without her! Thank you for all information!!Super!
Adrie is a knowledgeable, entertaining and put us at ease. Definitely recommend. Great tour-helped us make sense of Jakarta
Eri is a caring, energetic, and responsible person who speaks very good English. However, she is just getting started as a tour guide, and while very anxious to please she did not understand that we were tired at the end of the tour and wanted to go home. So her inexperience showed. To her credit, she took us in her personal car because it was raining, and she really was very anxious to do her best. Evening food tour in Jakarta
Erianti, takes good care of you listen to all your wishes. Knows a lot about the history of the town. We have seen lots a beautiful things.
Lovely and interesting tour
Erianti was an excellent guide. She accommodated our ever changing cruise port and departure times, readjusting the schedule, always being cognizant of the time to be back on board. She was very knowledgeable and answered many, many questions. We learned a ton of history and saw many things we would not have been afforded on a cruise tour. The driver was also incredible. I would highly recommend both. A Day in Jakarta
1 day stopover in Jakarta. We didn't know Jakarta yet and booked a 4-hour tour with Adrie at short notice via “withlocals”. We asked Adrie to focus on the history and architecture. While the driver guided us in a modern and spacious car with air conditioning (which was especially good after the short walks), through the crowded streets of Jakarta, Adrie used the time to talk about Indonesia, Jakarta and the sights we passed. We also liked the fact that there was a cool drink in the car. The tour was very well organized and a great mix of driving, short walks through the National Archive Museum, Chinatown, Taman Fatahillah Square and the old town of Batavia. Finally, we drove to the harbor, which the Dutch conquered in 1619 and built a city from there. They called it Batavia, today's Jakarta. It was a very interesting and entertaining tour. Adrie used to work for an American company, speaks excellent English and is very well educated. He has a broad knowledge of the history of Indonesia, the colonial period, society, economy and art and is also very interested in exchanging perspectives.
We left Jakarta at 2.30 AM with many new impressions. Even at that time the city does not seem to rest. Jakarta is a bustling city with many faces that is well worth getting to know - we will definitely return.
Our tip: If you have more than a 6 hours stay in Jakarta, don´t stay at the airport (it is boring and tiring). Take the time to visit the 2nd biggest town of the world with its 11 million inhabitants, see the modern skyscrapers and follow the traces of its history and its different cultures. Adrie has excellent time management skills and knows the secret routes to avoid the traffic jams on the main roads. He was very punctual at the hotel and dropped us off at the hotel at the agreed time. You can also leave your luggage in the car while you discover the city together. The driver stays in the car and so you can also use a short stay to get to know the city through Adrie's eyes.
At the end of our tour together, Adrie asked us what we knew about Indonesia and its capital Jakarta before our visit and why so many tourists only visit or know something about Bali and a few other touristy places in Indonesia. We were initially surprised by this question, but unfortunately we had to agree with him. His question gave us food for thought. We can absolutely recommend a tour through Jakarta and especially with Adrie.
4 hour tour through Jakarta with Adrie
Nice one day tour of Jakarta city center including national monument, mosque, old port and historical center
+ lunch stop.
Erianti is a nice person with good efficacy in guiding 👍Jakarta: the essentials
Had a great day visiting Jakarta with Erianti being the personal guide. Old town, national monument & museum, the Istiqlal Mosque, Chinatown, lunch at a great restaurant, you name it. And that all meandering through the busy traffic of Jakarta. Had a great day visiting Jakarta
Our day was a great start to our month long snorkeling adventure. Saw the essential downtown sights and a great meal at an authentic Indonesian restaurant. Finished the night with an inexpensive lovely massage. Highly recommend!Had a wonderful introduction to Jakarta
We asked Eri to take us to places off the Monas-Istiqlal-Batavia axis, and she delivered! We visited markets in SCBD, Glodok (Chinatown), ‘new’ Chinatown in the master planned development PIK 2 which showed different versions of Jakarta (we let her know we were visiting the main sites on our own and had visited two other street food markets already).
We felt her local knowledge was very useful, and we definitely wouldn’t have found where we ended up (and where we ate!) on our own.
Jakarta is harder to explore on foot than any city I have visited before, so having a car was very useful. Eri helped explain local driving customs and navigated central Jakarta gridlock skillfully. A great tour of Jakarta
We have a short and fun private Jakarta holidays trip. Everything was carried out accordingly to the proposed planned itinerary. Tour guide Adrie was good and friendly and know his job and responsibility well.A short and fun Jakarta trip
Erianti knows Jakarta inside out and was able to taylor the tour to our interests. She is a very knowledgeable and energetic person and we had a fantastic day! I can definitely recommend her as a great guide Great day out in Jakarta with Erianti
Es gibt nicht mehr zu sagen, als das, was die andere Gäste bereits in ihren Bewertungen geschrieben haben.
Klare Empfehlung für kulinarisch Interessierte :)
Never having been to Jakarta before, we thought that spending the day with a local would be a great way to discover the highlights of the city and what makes them proud of their home, and Erianti didn't let us down! She tailored her tour to our specific requests, imparted her knowledge enthusiastically and impeccably, navigated the arduous Jakarta traffic with ease, and was great company for the entire duration. Thank you for a wonderful tour Erianti! Highly recommended.Enjoying Jakarta with Erianti
We had our own car so we picked up Pak Adrie in Jakarta. He showed us the historical highlights of the city and told us a lot about its history. We had lunch at Café Batavia which was nice. We had a great and interesting day and we absolutely recommend this tour by AdrieJakarta daytour
Emir was professional and knowledgeable. I didn’t feel rushed at all and he was able to accommodate some food requests that were “must try” as suggested by my friends. Emir told me that he enjoys sharing his experience and want all his clients to feel like we’re out with a friend instead of a guide, and I definitely felt that way. Highly recommend Emir!Felt like a local!
Eri was an incredible tour guide! Not only was she caring and loving, but she continuously went above and beyond to offer recommendations and options for visiting different places. She really took the time to understand the city's challenges and all of its systems, making us feel right at home. Eri truly is a real person and an expert guide who made our experience unforgettable.Feeling at home in Jakarta
My boyfriend and I only had one day in Jakarta, as a layover. We decided to pack all of the yummy goodness the city had to offer in one evening. Emir didn’t disappoint to show us special places with local dishes. We had a really nice evening and a pleasant Guide with Emir, who knows Jakarta really well. Jakartas tastiness packed in one evening
I deliberately chose Erianti because I was looking for a guide who could provide a fun day for me and my daughter (11 years old). We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Erianti is sweet, caring and fun. Keep up the good work and our tip to you: learn more about the history of Jakarta, master the "ghost stories" and then you will become an absolute top guide!Lovely day with Erianti
The food tour was amazing. We tasted many different local dishes and walked around the streets of jakarta. We even went to a local bar. We were a little delayed due to Jakarta traffic and Emir was immediately trying to help to find a solution.Amazing food tour with Emir
On our first day in Jakarta, Emir gave us the perfect introduction. A casual, well-paced, culinary experience—we wanted for nothing. Emir is hospitable, warm, and knowledgeable, and if I had the chance, I’d book another tour with him. Great first glimpse into Jakarta
The traffic here is terrible. We had a driver who would drop us off and pick us up. I didn't realize it was a holiday and a few things were closed but we made it to a lot of destinations on my itinerary and a few extra that Adrie suggested. It was hot, but it was a great day. Adrie was a great guide; it's nice to be out with a local who speaks the language and knows the city. Thank you, Adrie! Finally Got to See Jakarta
We had such a good time locating the very center of Jakarta. If you are wearing casual shoes, like my friend was, maybe grab a cab to get you partway there. But all the fun was in the journey. The Zero Point... Further Than You Think
Emir was a great host and guide for this tour. He showed us around the most amazing places in Jakarta that we wouldn’t be able to find on our own. Emir was super friendly and knew everything about all the places that we visited. We had a wonderful evening in Jakarta. He was also super knowledgeable on the places that we’d visit after Jakarta, like Bandung and Yogyakarta. Definitely a guide we’d recommend! We loved every bit(e) of this amazing tour
We asked Erianti to tailor a 4 hour tour of Jakarta. The sights she picked was fine, but the knowledge about the sights and the basics of Jakarta overall history was to little. Erianti was a very Nice person and made us feel in good hands. We also accept the fact that she was new to the job. Okay, but not exceptional
Emir was an exceptional tour guide who was knowledgeable, personable, and spoke excellent English. We loved the different foods that we tried, and walking around the glodok/kota area. Overall, two thumbs up!!Emir’s food tour highly recommended!
We had an amazing evening with Emir for the street food tour. When we met it started raining like crazy for a long time, but Emir took it in stride. Even though after the rain finally broke a number of the vendors had closed shop for the night we still managed to eat a number of local dishes. I am GF and he did a great job finding some things that I could safely enjoy. Highly recommend Emir as a guide. Amazing local tour and guide
Emir is amazing tour guide! This is much more than a food tour - it is a walking cultural tour. I loved the delicious food, especially the last stop for mie ayam, and Emir did an amazing job pivoting based on my interests or vendor availability. He's also incredibly informative about the culture in Jakarta and Indonesia broadly. Emir is generous with his time and so fun to spend an evening with - I can't recommend him enough! Book with Emir - he's the best!
We have had the Food-tour with Emir in Jakarta, and we can only recommend it.
I am vegetarian and Emir showed me some great veggie-food which I would not have tried on my own, but loved it.
On top of the actual food his knowledge about Jakarta was good and while walking through the city he gave us some insights as a local.New tastes on amazing food tour
Emir took us for the food tour and it was incredible. He showed us around and made sure to take us to all his personal favourite food places, so it really felt authentic and the food of course was amazing.
Emir went well above what we asked and we loved hanging out with him. He showed us after the tour some of his favourite coffee and drinking places and gave us a lot of very helpful advice for other parts of Indonesia. Emir was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, and gave us hints on other local hidden gems to try out around Jakarta and beyond.
I would highly recommend Emir for the food tour or any other tours he offers as his knowledge and companionship is unrivaled. Fantastic food, fantastic guy
Well recommend this. Adrie is a lovely guy and it was a pleasure spending the day in his company. Really got to see Jakarta and learn some of the history which was what I was after. A very knowledgeable guy. Only down side was the traffic at times and the heat but of course that was out of Adries hands.
Super Day
We had an awsome night out with Emir. He showed us lots of amazing street food and had alot of knowledge of its history as well. We felt very well taken care of and it was like spending the night with a friend. He went above and beyond for us and we will absolutely be recommending him to all our friends. Awsome night out!
It was a total pleasure meeting Emir. He was polite, punctual and made me feel at ease instantly. We were in contact via whatsapp as soon we discussed the itinary. He was able to cater for my tastes, flexibility and timing. We experienced many flavours throughout the tour. However, the highlight was getting to learn about the culture and Emir of course. He is very knowledgeable while being super chilled and knows the city and things to do very well! I didnt quite make it to 10 tasters (the food is that good!!)but Emir was able to quickly modify the tail end of the experience with a delicious coffee and local sweet treats accompanyment.
I would super recommend this experience! Ps. I am a well travelled solo traveller.Food. Fun. Full belly and coffee!
Informative and interesting guide and a good selection of local and unusual dishes. Interesting intro to Jakarta street food
We had a most delightful streetfood tour with Emir. First of all his english was excellent. So conversation was easy and relaxing. He even rescued us when our Google Maps did not function anymore.
But of course the important part was the food. We had a bit of everything spicy, sweet, sour in different combinations and at places we would have never found ourselves.A tour of culinary surprises
