Our 10 Tastings of CDMX tour was an absolute highlight for our entire family. Victor took us to 4 completely different and authentic dining venues, and we tried food we’d never seen or heard of (including grasshoppers!)!! He also gave us history of the foods and insight into the neighborhood and general CDMX info. We are a family of four with two teenagers and they loved it as well. We had a fantastic food tour with Victor through the historic center of Mexico city! He is extremely knowledgeable about the area, the history, and also about each of the eateries that we visited. It was very informative and our teen and tweenaged kids loved the tour as well. Victor was excellent with the kids, ensuring that they were also having a great time. When I asked my youngest son (11 years) about his most favorite part of our whole trip to Mexico City, he said that his highlight was the food tour with Victor. I think that we all agreed with him. We so enjoyed our food tour of Centro CDMX with Silvia. She took us to a place where Al Pastor tacos were "invented" as well as El Moro, the first churros restaurant in CDMX. Silvia speaks perfect English and walked at a leisurly pace so it was easy to keep up with her in spite of all the people on the sidewalks and streets. I had never booked with withlocals.com but after this experience, I'll be seeking them out.Silvia was terrific!

I booked this tour for my parents and confirmed with Siliva right away, telling her about their food preferences etc. They went to the meeting spot 30 minutes early and looked for her for 1 hour asking the people inside the Latin American Tour. The security desk inside the building even tried calling Silvia. Silvia told me my parents didn't show up but I don't see how it's possible that Silvia was there and didn't find them. Silvia said that she called their hotel the day before and was told my parents weren't feeling well (not sure that's true or not) so I'm thinking Silvia rolled the dice and banked on my parents not showing up. She didn't bother calling the hotel when she couldn't find them, which again seems odd if she was being truthful. Silvia said she left after an hour and won't provide a refund but if the tour was 3 hours long, then why would she leave after just one hour since she was paid in full? This whole thing doesn't make sense. Didn't show up

Our family of four (kids 17 and 9) spent a wonderful afternoon with Daniel. The food tour was a perfect introduction to the city, as we did this on our first day. Not only did we get comfortable with the layout of the historic section of Mexico City, we also got to eat A LOT of food that we otherwise would not have had the chance to. Daniel was great with the kids and gave them plenty of food options at each stop, while still encouraging them to try everything - which they did! Having found new dishes that they enjoyed, it made the rest of our trip much easier as they were more adventurous in their food choices. Daniel was also full of information and great at taking the time to answer all questions. He made fast friends with both kids as our first stop was a huge bakery. He is a wonderful guide and is highly recommended!Daniel is terrific!

The 10 tasting food tour with Luz was great. Communication was good prior to the tour, we met in a very busy area of the city. She did a great job integrating the history of the city while walking to our food stops. She also accommodated our group food preferences—2 of us eat meat, 2 are vegetarians. We had the most amazing afternoon with Daniel - sampling food we would have ordinarily never have known to order and learning so much about the rich culture and history. Daniel was super knowledgeable , well travelled and friendly and I cannot recommend him enough! Luis was a wonderful guide to several off the beaten path food experiences. She is the reason to book a tour like this. Luz was born in Mexico City and is the ultimate guide to eating here. She brought us to places no tourist could ever find. She was also patient with our group! We had a range of ages, from six to 60… She let us take breaks, etc. My daughter (6) tried almost each selection, loving most items. We had warm churros, tacos al pastor, hibiscus juice. Daniel brought us to a few of his favorite food spots where we had some delicious tacos. Highlights were a street taco spot where we tasted a corn and mushroom taco and a zucchini blossom taco. This is a place I would never get to on my own. Also, visited a huge food hall which I loved seeing. We ended with the mother of all bakeries: Ideal — never seen anything like it. Silvia was a treasure. She was able to entertain us with fun facts about the city, foods we ate and the history behind each restaurant. We indulged in tacos, churros and pan dulce. I love these tours as they take you to places you would not have existed or been brave enough to try. The walking is mild and persons of all ages can safely do with ease. The portions seem small but it is for a reason as you quickly become full and by the time our last stop we had to take it home to enjoy later. I would not eat a heavy meal prior to going or you may not be able to eat everything. Silvia switched from Spanish to English with ease. History intertwined with food
