Virendra led us through the bustling streets of Old Delhi from specialty to specialty. Sweet, salty, spicy, drinks and food, there was a bit of everything at various stalls, some of which were over 200 years old, and everything was without exception delicious. Highly recommend booking a half-day with Ritesh if you’re looking for an authentic, fun and informative food tour in Old Delhi. Before our excursion, Ritesh reassured us that he only deals with reputable, safe and sanitary vendors so we had no concerns about possible tummy issues on our holiday. Ritesh is that rare combination of someone who is not only personable, punctual and fun, but also highly educated, insightful and positive. He impressed us with details about the history of the region, as well as interesting anecdotes about daily life, plus observations about global concerns and even the current political situation in our native Canada. Each food stop was carefully chosen, organized and efficient, as well as delicious, varied and filling. He even has a special dish named Superstar after him and was recognized by many locals in the streets. Bring an empty stomach because you’ll need it. We had a wonderful afternoon tour with Ritesh. We had never been to India before and had only arrived in Delhi the day before, so everything was very new and exciting! Ritesh customised our tour to ensure we would go to places that were off the beaten track and all the food we had was delicious and none of us got sick. Karni was a lovely guide with clear knowledge about the area and the food we were eating. He took us to the spice market and showed us the local spices with insightful conversations on what they are used for. Afterwards we meandered to different stalls and had lots of the local favorites from trusted sources, including some sellers that have been around for generations! Karni was great at asking us for our preferences, giving us lots of options, and adding little historical facts about the area along the way. Perhaps our only suggestion would be a stronger tour framing at the start with context about the history of the market and local food traditions more generally, as well as a bit of an overview about how many dishes we’re eating so we could pace ourselves better. Would recommend Karni as a guide to anyone who wants to explore the local area! And we came away with contacts and suggestions for other tours as well! Eating through the old market!

This is a tour you should not miss! Ritesh takes you to local, authentic places and there is so much food! In a nice touch, any leftover food is given to local people who are homeless. Ritesh is one of the best guides I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is an amazing guy that took me on more of an adventure than a tour. He completely customized everything to what I was looking to experience. He didn't take me on a common touristy tour. Every place we visited was authentic and local. Ritesh did more than a food tour for my brother and me. He showed us Old Delhi in its entirety, providing a memorable experience of the chaotic and magical place. We dined at three iconic street food establishments and sampled some local delicacies. Just wandering the streets of Chandni Chowk was an experience in itself, and we were thankful to have a local expert like Ritesh to guide us through the maze-like alleys. Ritesh's passion for history and international relations enriched our conversations immensely.

 He also went beyond his duties by recommending that we take the Delhi metro after the tour, as it was impossible to hail a taxi at the peak hour. He accompanied us to the station and purchased our first connecting ticket.

We did the Delhi food tour with Ritesh last night, it was fabulous. We got to sample such a variety of Indian dishes and go to food locations in old Delhi that we wouldn’t otherwise have gone to by ourselves. I felt safe walking the streets with Ritesh and also with his food selections, we wanted to try the national dish water bomb but he couldn’t find a venue that was cooking it safely with filtered water so he said best not to try it for now. He explained a lot about different monuments and shops as we walked too. He was very knowledgeable about food and we were able to choose the dishes we wanted to try and he picked the best venue for each food. Communication was also great, Ritesh reached out prior and explained meeting location and information. I loved this tour and would highly recommend for anyone looking to sample Delhi cuisine and eat like a local. I recommend the Chat and the paranthas, both amazing! Having arrived in Delhi and wanting to experience the best of the food in the City in the short time we had we chose With Locals and Ritesh. We met in Chandi Chowk ( pre communication was excellent) and nothing prepares you for the assault on the senses that this part of Delhi does. Ritesh is super friendly and throughout the evening as we were guided expertly through the maze of markets and people and traffic we chatted about life, food, everything. It was a great evening. We started with a "Japanese style" Samosa from one of the oldest cafes in Chandi. We then went on to the Paratha district to have the most amazing hot cheese bread. We then switch to Nagsr for the most amazing butter chicken and Lentil daal. Ritesh was the perfect host on an amazing night of food, travel in a tuk tuk (auto). We had a FANTASTIC food tour with Ritesh. His knowledge and expertise surrounding Delhi cuisine was phenomenal. We tried multiple dishes and quite honestly, they were all outstanding. We considered ourselves to be quite well-versed in Indian curries but each dish became the best we had ever had, which is honestly crazy. Ritesh is caring, funny and always trying to accommodate to our tastes and preferences when needed. Ritesh provided an excellent food tour - on foot and by tuk tuk. He took into consideration that one of the tour party did not like spicy food and over the course of 4 hours ensured we tasted a wide variety of popular street food in old Delhi and New Delhi. Ketan curated a great day for us in Delhi with exactly what we wanted. We got an inside look at life in the markets and the older part of the city, in areas we would not have ventured ourselves. We booked with Vishnu for a short private tour in an afternoon of Qutub Minar on the day we arrived in Delhi having travelled overnight. Vishnu picked us up on time and from the beginning to the end our tour was just fantastic, he told us interesting stories and educating us as we went. Vishnu also extended our tour took us to some additional sites we did not expect and he stopped to buy us a masala chai. A 3 hour tour was actually 5 and we enjoyed every minute. We had the pleasure of booking Karni for our Full Day Coverage of New Delhi City Tour. Karni was quite accommodating, easy-going and talkative. He even allowed us to pick and choose what we wanted to see. Because it's not necessarily a walking tour, Karni provided a car for the excursion, which was a good idea given that some of the most famous sites are on opposite sides of the city. In the car ride, we talked about everything concerning India. I personally found him to be quite knowledgeable, and I enjoyed talking with him about the life history of Mahatma Gandhi, Queen Victoria (Empress of India), and topics concerning the Mughal Empire. Karni is a fountain of information. Most importantly, we had a problem with one of the local delivery vendors and Karni was right there as our advocate to straighten out the situation for us and make sure that kind of misunderstanding doesn't happen to others--a gesture we appreciated. Overall, we recommend Karni highly should you ever visit India. He's worth your time. We highly recommend him

Virendra ist ein hauptberuflicher Tourguide mit viel Erfahrung. Das merkt man, es gibt keine Ecke Indiens, in der er noch nicht war. Wir haben es nicht geschafft, ihm eine Frage zu stellen, die er nicht mit viel Spaß und Hintergrundwissen beantworten konnte. So war die Tagestour von Delhi zum Taj Mahal kurzweilig und sehr informativ. Wir baten Virendra auch, alle Souvenirshops und dergleichen wegzulassen, da wir davon schon genug hatten. Daran hat er sich auch gehalten, was wir ihm hoch anrechnen. Aus der Fahrer war super und sehr professionell. Alles in allem unbedingt zu empfehlen! Pro Tip: macht nicht die Sonnenaufgang-Tour, vor allem nicht aus Delhi. Das machen alle, daher ist es da extrem voll. Und man muss nachts um 3 in Dehli los. Wir sind um 6 los, und als wir um 10 da waren, waren die Sonnenaufgangs-Touris alle schon wieder weg. Wir haben an keiner Stelle auch nur eine Minute warten müssen. Und das Licht war trotzdem toll ;-)Super!

I booked a 3 day tour with Virendra for my parents and this is their review after the perfect experience they had in Delhi/New-Delhi. Virendra has amazing knowledge about the history and mixture of religion in the city and can explain it really well in English AND French. He is very friendly and will adapt to your every wishes. On top of showing you the public transport in Delhi, Virendra also works with a very good driver for the sights that are a little further away. In general, Virendra makes the experience feel special and unique, and not like a tourist trap forcing you to spend money left and right. Overall, my parents can only recommend Virendra as a guide for Delhi/New-Delhi but also other cities in Northern India. I got to chat with Virendra online to organise the tour beforehand and it was very pleasant. He answered every question I had super fast and in a friendly matter.
