Maria was an absolutely fantastic guide. She is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. We tried so many different foods - which was especially great as we were working with some dietary requirements. After traveling in over 50 countries, my husband and I have experienced a lot of guides, and I can honestly say that Naoki was the very best guide we have ever had! I with I had booked a lot more time with him! We did the 10 tastings of Osaka with Naoki and all the food and drink choices were fantastic, but this was so much more than a food tour! Naoki has an incredible amount of knowledge about Osaka and Kyoto and Japan in general, but we also had so many interesting conversations about his life growing up and our cultural comparisons. As we walked between restaurants, Naoki made sure to make a lot of interesting stops at shrines and other important places in the city. Naoki was also constantly making sure to take photos of us without us having to bring it up. The next day Naoki was also emailing us more information about stores and restaurants we had discussed and responded very quickly when I asked for recommendations in Kyoto. I truly can’t say enough about what a wonderful time we had! It was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Japan. By the end of our night with Naoki, we felt like we had made a lifelong friend! She was knowledgeable and an excellent teacher throughout the experience but what really made it special was that she customised the experience on the fly as she learned about what we wanted to get out of it. From the moment Naoki met with us, it was clear that this would be a great and personalised experience. The food, drink and venue choices were explained and clarified. All were so tasty and of quality This was such a great way to be quickly introduced to aspects of Japanese / Osaka food and eating culture. But that was only the half of it. Hiroki was really nice and chill. He told us about culture and history as we walked (our preference) through the city through different shrines, churches etc while we tasted different foods. When he found out I preferred gluten free he accommodated us with the food spots. We got a really nice diverse tour of the city which was great for our few days in Osaka. We had a wonderful time with Naoki on the tastings tour. He let us customize our time and asked great questions to ensure a great tour, The tour was amazing - we enjoyed his company, the food, the background information, learning about local history and the food itself. He gave great context and even pointed out small, but wonderful details - like the Kimchi in this restaurant was made with honey - "Osaka style." We're even going back to a restaurant we thoroughly enjoyed with Naoki - and would probably go back to more of them if could stay longer. Hiromi was warm and welcoming and knowledgable about the origins and types of food! We had must-try Osaka foods and she shared some of her usual lunch spots with us. She even gave us locals suggestions to further explore Osaka away from the tourists. I only wish we had scheduled our tour on day 1 or 2 of our visit to Osaka. Our group of 4 had an amazing evening sampling some of the best food in Osaka. Hiromi was so kind and patient with us as we walked around town stepping into delicious spaces what from the crazy crowds. Our tasting with Hiromi was wonderful! Hiromi was very communicative, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We mentioned that we hadn’t had Udon yet and she immediately brought us to an incredible udon spot! Our goal was to try as many various dishes as possible, and Hiromi made that happen. My wife and I were so happy that we chose that private food tour with local Osaka lady, Hiromi. She is really nice and kind, speaks a perfect english and more importantly, she took us to several food joints and restaurants that were frequented only by local people. We enjoyed a wonderful street food tour with Hiromi in a part of Osaka not swamped by western tourists. Her understanding and communication of the English language is excellent. She chose small restaurants full of locals in which to enjoy Japan’s legendary street food. And, there is a lot of food. She talked to us about her recipes for some of the local food- great because we like to cook. We went on a food tour with Hiromi starting near Tsūtenkaku and ending near Dotonbori. We went to so many different places to try things like kushikatsu, udon, sushi, karaage, takoyaki, and mochi. We were so full after the tour, but it was all so delicious. However, the real star of the show was Hiromi who was able to give us lots of information about the food, culture, and history of the neighborhoods and areas we visited. My wife and I were visiting Osaka for the first time and decided to do an evening food tour with local Hiromi. We found Hiromi to be an excellent local guide with good insight into the city’s history, hidden eateries and away from tourist traps. Hiromi is born and raised in Osaka and has also spent time working in English speaking countries so communicating was not a problem Every eatery Hiromi took was fantastic we ate kushikatsu, udon noodle soup, sashimi/sushi, karage chicken, takoyaki, crème tayaki and a matcha drink to finish. Prior to hitting the cream tayaki Hiromi asked if we wanted to try some Okenmenyaki - one of our favorite Japanese dishes, but were so full we couldn’t fit it in. If you’re looking for genuine good quality local food away from the tourist areas I highly recommend you take this tour with Hiromi

Jessica is a very knowledgeable guide who took great care of us on the food tasting tour. My family and I greatly enjoyed spending time with her and she was very accommodating of my wife’s many allergies (nuts, fruits, carrots, celery). Hiromi lead us on a wonderful tour of the amazing and dizzying array of food offerings in Osaka. We tasked her with providing yummy, innovative options while at the same time respecting my abject pickiness. I didn’t want any eel, squid, octopus, heart, lung, stomach, sperm sacs etc etc. I’m squeamish. She took it all with grace and humor and showed us amazing food. We were late because we couldn’t figure out the Osaka Loop subway. So she meet us right at the subway station and then gave us the full tour, which ran over. Her English was solid and her knowledge of Osaka and food was extraordinary. Highly recommend!Great Food Tour with Hiromi!
