My 10 year old and I did a 3hr food tour with Gelsomina! It was the best, she tailored it to all the food options we wanted to experience plus more. We ate at some incredible places in the saint Germaine de pres where we were staying. Along with great foods selections we also got to learn so much about Paris and the Parisian way of life. We had a great afternoon/early evening with Alpha tasting our way through parts of Paris. Along the way, we got a good history tour as well. Plus, we enjoyed learning about everyday life in Paris. We highly recommend! The one suggestion that I have is for one less dessert/sweet tasting and substitute another savory tasting. Had we known, we could have requested this. Fun and delicious tour!

Nice tour by a member of the French Blood Bowl champion team. Jay told us some interesting info about the differences between French and American societies. We walked through the daily market in Arr. 12 where we tasted a variety of cheese and meats. We walked to a wine shop where we had our choice of wine and then two different desserts. At the end of the tour we walked to the Place de la Bastille.Charcuterie, wine, dessert and history.

Ali was great and was flexible when we were a bit late with Uber troubles, and also with my 75 year old mother in law's limited mobility to set the pace for her to keep up (which is why we got a private and not group tour). My wife and I had nothing but a great experience with Jay. We were running late due to issues with our phone service, and he was willing to wait almost 10 minutes until we arrived at the meeting spot. He took us to some great food places, which I would describe as offering more authentic Parisian food selections. The food and wine we tried were mind-blowing. As long as you approach it with an open mind and are willing to try different food options, you will have a fantastic time. To end the tour, he took us to an amazing garden in the city that makes you feel like you’re outside of it. Anukool started our tasting at a local market and gave us the history. The cheese and tamponade were excellent. The desserts and pastries in the local neighborhood were also excellent. We arrived in Paris after an overnight flight and had a quick nap before meeting Alpha at 5pm. This was a great way for me and my daughters (18 and 21) to get comfortable with the city. We ate a lot of food while we walked over 10K steps. Alpha kept the girls entertained and answered all their questions. It was exactly what we needed to stay awake. We brought leftovers back to the hotel and then slept 12 hours straight. Great way to begin our Paris adventure

What a wonderful experience with Gelsomina! It was like spending a few hours with a good friend. Great conversation and wonderful, tasty food! She was so well informed and descriptive on the food choices she made on our behalf. We had so many different conversations - not just about food - regarding Paris that shaped the rest of our week. She also remained in touch through the remainder of our time and answered questions and provided direction. My only bit of feedback is it would have been great to have had more walking movement between restaurants but time likely didn’t allow for too long of walks. We met Gelsomina in a park square very close to a market and open air market. It was a lovely location to meet and see real Paris. Each stop we made for a special bite was well chosen, and we were given plenty of time to enjoy our visit and take in the atmosphere and environment. Our tour was not rushed, we talked of anything that interested us, and Gelsomina was absolutely informative, personable, and welcoming. Our party consisted of myself and two late teens. While Jay was friendly and personable and absolutely full of information on French history, our "tour" was really just hopping from one place to another, picking up something preselected/predetermined and then eating it all together. I expect a "food tour" to provide me with information about food history, food purveyors, and/or food preparation, and we didn't get any of that. We also didn't learn anything about the particular vendors whose wares we were consuming. Since I speak French, and my friend and I had already been in Paris for several days, we received very little value from our tour.Not what I expected

I recommend the food tasting with locals and Ankool specifically. We met in the Square Trousseau and the food tastings were all nearby. We began with pasties and coffee at Ble Sucre. Fantastic. We went to a local market, Marche d'Aligre, and had a cheese selection and bread (yum!). If we were staying for any time in a flat, we would visit the marche a lot. We strolled to Au Merveilleux for more cake (very light and sweet) and then a bar called Parisii for some wine and charcuterie. All the time, Ankool was telling us about the neighborhood, history, and food. We wrapped up by having some crepes and then going to Le Baron Rouge for some wine, and what a fantastic wine bar that is: packed out the door, oysters, lots of wine selection, enthralling. Words honestly won’t do justice when explaining just how much fun we had with Anukool. Not only was he so informative, with an unlimited bank of interesting facts: he became our friend for the afternoon. Anukool was a terrific host/guide. Our adventure started with a lost phone and he helped us to communicate with the driver, since our French was limited. Our tour started at this well known bakery, where we enjoyed a sweet treat and a coffee. We then stopped at a cute market, where we were able to sample cheeses, tapenades and breads. From there we had a scrumptious dessert and then went to an establishment where we tried local meats alomg with a cocktail. We met Alpha near our airbnb - which was not her usual location - but it worked out all for the best. It was a great tour of an area we had never explored in Paris. We are not familiar with the district and Alpha knew just where to take us. It was fun from start to finish. She is a great host, the conversation flowed. The food was amazing and we had lots of leftovers for later in the day. The history, the market, the food - all great. In fact we couldn't find cafe creme anywhere else in France or Spain that matched the wonderful one we had at our first stop.
