We had an amazing time wandering the streets of Penang and tasting great food. Lisa is such a lovely person and genuinely passionate and very knowledgeable about all the dishes and their history. She had so much patience with my boys (7 and 10) and they absolutely loved the whole experience. This was by far one of the best ways to experience the real Penang and George Town. Lisa’s culture, food and historical knowledge was so insightful. She was charming, friendly and the best host!! We love food tours and I need to remark that this has been one of the best. Lisa has been very kind the whole tour making sure we all felt confortable with the dishes she was introducing to us. Of all of them Rendang was our favorite but I must say that we had grat amount and variety of dishes, some of them rated in the michelin guide. Vermutlich hätten wir das meiste der Gerichte nicht auf eigene Faust probiert. Um so glücklicher waren wir, dass Lisa uns so abwechslungsreiche Speisen gezeigt und dazu erzählt hat. We had a really awesome food tour with Remy in Penang. Remy was so knowledgeable about the local street food stalls that have been around in Penag for decades (for good reason!). From the mouth watering samosas to the authentic banana leaf lunch in Little India to the Penang Laksa - Remy took us to all the great culinary spots and had an engaging and genuine personality to boot. Yasin was a generous host on our food tour- so much food in such a short time and our tummies were full before we even finished! Yasin was flexible and took us to halal vendors as I don't eat red meat. We were taken to vendors who have been making their snacks for decades- it was special to experience the culinary traditions. We are a family of four, including two kids aged 13 and 11, who did the 10 tastings of Penang street food tour with Remy as our guide. This was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Malaysia. Remy is an excellent host and took the time to explain why he had chosen each stop and the history not only behind the food we were eating but also life in Georgetown/Penang more generally. It felt like going out with a friend as it was so much fun. And the kids were thrilled when Remy added an extra stop so that they could try durian and he even picked up some other fruit for them that they had said they enjoyed. My partner and I visited Penang for the first time, and booking Lisa on our second day was one of the best decisions we made! She’s got such a great relationship with local shop owners, and her knowledge of Penang’s history, culture, and food is delicious.
