I would recommend Francesca, specifically, if you want to do a food tour in Rome. It was especially helpful for us as first time visitors to Rome. Meeting spot was great, food variety worked really well for us, and it’s exactly what we needed as an introduction to local Roman and Italian food. Francesca‘s knowledge of food and her relationships at the market and different restaurants made the tour feel like it was a lot more than just showing us spots and dishes to order, but a great time learning about history, culture, and the nuances of local food. Conversation was great, she was so easy to be with for three hours, and she even gave us some incredible recommendations after the tour for other spots we could explore. Favorite stops were food tasting in the market, the most amazing pizza, and a spot with fresh suppli. Almost forgot the gelato! Now that I think about it, everything was pretty amazing! Francesca gets a 10 out of 10 from us! Wonderful tour, esp Italy first timers!

Enjoyed a fun, interesting and yummy food tour with Amandio with our family of four (children 10 & 12 loved it just as much as the adults!). He took us to local favorite places we would have never found on our own and wove in some amazing history lessons as well. Most food tours take place in Trastevere, which is fantastic but there is nothing more "Roman" than taking a tour with Paola through the Testaccio Market (and surrounding shops) where real folks do their shopping and the prices are significantly less. We loved our food tour with Stefano!! We got to try several different street foods, several of which I would never have known to try. The sheep skewers were delicious!! We also had salumi and cheese with wine, multiple kinds of pizza, fried artichokes, suppli, zucchini blossoms, maritozzo, cannoli, and more, while also getting to explore the city. Stefano had some great suggestions on other things to do in Rome and restaurants to try off the beaten path. This isn’t a restaurant tour as some seem to expect, but it is a chance to explore the city and taste some Roman foods you otherwise might not. We truly enjoyed this tour!Excellent Tour!!

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Claudia. Our group consisted of two adults and one child (9 years old). Claudia was welcoming, friendly, accommodating and so knowledgable. We enjoyed the restaurants and cafes she introduced us to so much that we returned to some of them daily/multiple times during our stay. Our tour with Francesa could not have been better. As advertised, she is an art historian. She brings the old to life, gives insights into what you're seeing and will take you to see things that are great and that other guides (and the hordes of tourists) skip. I've travelled the world voraciously for about ten years, and I've been to Rome specifically three times. This was "Top 5" travel experiences I've ever had. To say it exceeded all expecations is an understatement. Amandio was flexible when our transportation ran late, and from start to finish the tour felt seamless and natural. He took us to several of his personal local favorites, where he and his family have been shopping for years. The food was great, the tour was fun ... but its hard to describe how Amandio brought LIFE to the city. He explained things and painted a picture that felt like we got to see the *soul* of Rome. I found this last minute. We didn't have a lot of time to spend in Rome and we all wanted to try some good, authentic food. Did not disappoint! Roberto was super friendly, laid back, really knew his local history as well as the food! He brought us around the area, through a passage basically only known to locals and the Jewish Ghetto was really interesting too! It was like walking around with a new friend. And even though its a "walking tour" don't worry, you dont have to walk and eat at the same time. Roberto found nice relaxing places to eat. We had a hard time finishing as it was so much food! Our guide Massimo gave us a wonderful tour of Rome by night which reflected our interests in history and art as well as food. He showed us some churches we'd missed - even after 4 days' extensive sightseeing! - and gave us the insight of a local who'd grown up in Rome. Francesca was awesome! It was our very first time in Italy and our first day so we were excited. It was raining before the tour so it was a slight bummer but the rained cleared and we had a nice time. She had on her super cute poncho and just pushed through 🤣. Francesca is really sweet and had a nice sense of humor. There were no awkward moments seeing that never met before. She is also very knowledgeable about all things food since she has culinary experience. We ate some pretty good food and she gave recs on where to go for more good food. About halfway thru our tour with Stefano, my college aged daughter commented ‘I feel like I’m walking around Rome with my friend’. This statement captured the essence of our time with Stefano. His easygoing and relaxed manner made us feel comfortable and he adapted his tour as we went along based on our feedback. I will never forget some of the hidden alcoves and passageways that he took us through; places that would never show up in a guidebook but that were just as remarkable as many of the famous Rome landmarks. And the food he had us try were some of our most memorable bites in all of Italy. I can not recommend this tour enough - was a highlight of our visit.

I have learned there is no better way to learn about a culture than by getting to know its food, so we booked this food tour since all 4 of us had previously been to Rome on separate occasions. Francesca met us in a local market where we were able to taste a variety of cheese, sausages, balsamic vinegars (which we learned a lot about) and truffle products. She shared her knowledge about each food and took us to the places off the beaten path that most tourists wouldn't think to visit. The only place that had lots of tourists was where we tried Roman pizza (delicious) and she ordered it advance so that she could go in and grab it so we would not have to wait in a long line. From there we had the opportunities to try pastries, pizzas, pastas, suppli (which is a fried rice ball with tomatoes and mozzarella) and much more. I have never had this much food on a food tour and by the end we literally could not eat another bite. Come Hungry

Nico was very friendly, personable, informative and accommodating for the needs of our group. He was a bit late to our pick up, but notified us of this. Unfortunately part of our group had a later obligation and a late start meant less time for them to participate. Everything we tasted was delicious and it was great to hear the stories behind it. I’ve done many food tours in many countries. This was by far the worst price to value for the amount of food. All food tours I’ve ever done have included at least one beverage (at least water). I don’t count the coffee in this tour because it was one of the 10 tastes. In all stops tastes were split in half. For what we paid per person, we could have each had our own at €2 a bite and at least a bottle of water, soda, beer or glass of wine included at one of the stops. Informative & accommodating
