We have just spent a wonderful afternoon being shown around various locations and tasting some wonderful food along the way (don't eat before you go !!!). Marcus was a fantastic host and really knows his stuff! We learnt so much about the history and culture of Singapore which we would never have done just wandering around ourselves. It also gave us a good grounding of where everything is so will be able to go back to the places again. Marcus was very considerate - making sure we were in the shade when we stopped, supplying us with drinks to keep us hydrated and tickets for the MRT. All in all a fantastic day - thank you Marcus!!! Grayson met us on time in the Arab quarter, where we had our first tastings. He selected traditional dishes that locals would choose. He explained how the dish came about and how they are prepared. Next stop was little India where we visited a Hawker center. On the way over there he explained some aspects of Singaporian life as public housing. The last stop was China town which we got to with the MRT. The food in Chinatown was really good and interesting. These were dishes that we wouldn’t have selected on our own. Overall great experience and glad we did it.Great Food Tour

The route and stops are cool, with good places to visit and food that was at least interesting, if not always to my taste. The value was challenging tho with three of us sharing some quite tiny plates of food. The guide - Hundred - was a very strange man. Mildly offensive at times with his 'jokes', not fit enough to walk the route, keen to tout random trinket stores on the way, and he managed to allow the group - there were three of us - to get split up on the train system, which I reckon is a easy fail for guiding. I'll certainly never forget the tour tho! Good tour, get a different guide.The guide was like a weird uncle

If we could give Grayson more than 10/10, we would. The food tour exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed our morning with Grayson. He is a very pleasant unassuming man with a relaxed but professional personal style. Although, this tour has a focus on Singapore food, we learnt so much about life in Singapore, the cultures, and lots more. We really appreciated that he was happy to answer our questions. Susan has a hearing loss and really appreciated that Grayson was happy to use her remote microphone which fed his voice through to her hearing aids. This made it much easier for her. A big thank you to Grayson - he was organized, insightful, and engaging. We tried 10 different intriguing foods that you might not find in the guidebook. We walked through Arab Street, the Malay section and took the MRT to Chinatown. Along the way, Grayson gave us context for the food that we tasted along with the history of its introduction. As we walked, he gave us insights into Singaporean culture and politics that added to the experience. We were impressed by his depth of knowledge and appreciated him sharing his life experience. Our family of 4 from Brisbane with 2 teenagers spent a wonderful afternoon with William. He went above and beyond to look after us (keeping us hydrated and as cool as possible), provide us with the most amazing food experiences Singapore has to offer and overall, just so friendly and sweet. He gave us a real insight into life in Singapore, how the different cultures work together, lessons on how to order at Hawker markets and use the MRT network. Grayson was very attentive, professional, and shared lots of information points throughout our tour. He promptly guided us to many different food areas and we sampled Indian, Malaysian, and Chinese dishes. There is a bit of walking involved, so I would recommend bringing a fan and/or an umbrella to cool down. All of the places we stopped to eat at did not have aircon, so just be prepared for the hot weather. Grayson noticed we were thirsty and led us to a nearby 7-11 to hydrate, as well. Grayson also went into more detail about the history of each area we visited and answered all of our many questions about housing, daily life, and more in Singapore. I would definitely recommend this tour with Grayson for anyone looking for an insider view of the city. And to enjoy a variety of delicious treats!Great food with Grayson!

As for William, I can only say good things. He is an extremely pleasant and polite person. Everything is perfectly organized. He is also very considerate, and you decide how much you want to interact with him — if you ask questions, he will answer in great detail, and if you prefer less interaction, he respects that space, which is something we truly appreciated. Regarding the tour itself, we chose not to make any changes to the itinerary and instead followed what he had planned for us. That way, we could try new things — experiences we wouldn’t have tried on our own. In Chinatown, we went straight to try a Michelin-starred chicken rice stall. There was a long line, but it was worth it — the food was delicious. Then we went to Little India. There, we had a simpler but very interesting experience with new flavors — dishes that were quite different from the Indian food we’ve had in Europe. Very interesting. Perhaps the weakest and most disappointing stop was the Malay food. The dishes were very basic and lacked culinary value, especially compared to the previous two places. All in all, we were happy to have taken the tour. It allowed us to do things we wouldn’t normally do if we were traveling on our own. We were also very glad we chose William — a guy who’s truly worth meeting.Nice Tour

We had an incredible time exploring Singapore’s hawker food culture with William as our guide. He took us to a variety of hawker centres and introduced us to around nine different local dishes—everything from savory to sweet, each one delicious and unique. It was a true culinary journey. William was impressively knowledgeable about the food, its history, and the cultural context behind each dish. He patiently and enthusiastically answered all of our questions, which made the experience educational as well as tasty. The only thing that would have made the evening even better is if William had sat and chatted with us while we ate—his company and insights were so enjoyable, and it would have been nice to continue the conversation during the meal. Chingmeng provided a great tour. This exceeded our expectations. Not only did we get lots of amazing food and drink, he provided us with a lot of history and background information and answered our questions. The walk between stops was just as valuable as the food stops as we visited places we probably wouldn't have ourselves. Some previous reviews did note a lack of food stops. We disagreed; while there were only three stops, there was plenty of food at each, and we were very full by the end of it. Chingmeng was very responsive to our needs - e.g. avoiding getting wet in torrential rain and ensuring we knew how to get back to our hotel after the tour. Would highly recommend.Great food tour

Our group of four from Melbourne Australia spent a wonderful three hours with William on our “food tour with locals.” We first visited the a hawker centre in China Town, where we enjoyed delicious food, including some Michelin Star Hainanese chicken rice (soooo yummy), then on to another hawker centre at Little India for some more tasty surprises, and finally to Kampong Glam to try some Malaysian food. Everything was wonderful - it was great to try some food that we wouldn’t normally order for ourselves. William was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable. He shared lots of interesting information during the tour and looked after us very, very well.
