We signed up for a food walking tour, and not only did Alexandra take us to authentic, locally owned Venetian cafés and restaurants, we learned so much about how and what to order, and the historical and cultural significance of the food and beverages we sampled. The food tasting tour with Giada was so delightful. She's warm and inviting and very knowledgable as well. The places she took us to meant something to her and you could tell she loves what she does with her tours. The cicchetti that we sampled were fresh seafood and not just the kind on toast you see too often. The time we spent with Giada went by so fast, and you know you're having a great time when it slips away so quickly. Giada is all about making your time in Venice the best. Her wealth of information was just the right amount. Sometimes you can get too much, but the pace we were all on, was perfect. I would highly recommend using Giada. Giada took us to 4 different venues for our 10 tastings, each with a different selection and ambiance. The first bacaro (bar) had an informal neighborhood feel and a wide selection of cicchettis. She explained the different kinds we sampled and about spritz’s. We ventured on to two more places, sampling more tasty items. We ended our evening in a neighborhood wine bar with a charcuterie board and wine. She explained the meats and the wine, then finished with a selection of 4 desserts from the pastry shop across the street. Giada was very knowledgeable about the wine, the food and the history. In addition to teaching us about traditional Venetian foods, she taught and showed us lots of hidden gems and even took us up to a rooftop view of the city. Giada was the perfect guide! Our friend had injured themselves right before the tour, and Giada was extremely accommodating and altered the course to limit walking and make it accessible. We had a great morning with Giada! She took us on a sweet-savory-discovery tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. We met at a central location where she inquired about any food allergies or likes and dislikes. My husband Tom and I took the "10 Tastings of Venice" tour with Alexandra last week. We loved it! Alexandra guided us around Venice for three hours providing her insight into modern life in the city as well as some historical highlights. We tasted cicchetti and drank local wine in four locations. We took the 10 tastings of Venice food walking tour with Claudia on our recent visit. It was my husband and I and our 3 year old daughter. With a 3 year old in tow you can imagine that any tour is always a gamble. Claudia is the child whisperer. From the moment we met she was so warm to our daughter (my husband and I too of course). She walked the perfect line of including her, while giving her the space to warm up to her (as children need sometimes). Claudia had such an ease with our child it is clear she spends lots of time with them (as she commented with her nephew).
