We met Manuel at the Porta Borsari and immediately felt welcome and at ease. He delighted us with facts about Verona, its history, lifestyle and customs. Our tour took us to the main attractions in the old part of the city and a wonderful selection of wines and tasty foods. Manuel was friendly and knowledgeable and even sent us recommendations for wineries and restaurants as we travel further into the Dolimites. Christina was super nice and a great host and took us to some cool little local spots and we enjoyed some simple fare from caffe to bruschetta, to arancini, to Campari spritz, and a few other good bites. Nothing extraordinary in the culinary department but overall just what we wanted in a quick tour of Verona for our first time in the city. During our evening walk we managed to take in many of the sights including Juliette’s balcony and we passed by the Basilica di Santa Anastasia, Piazza dei Signori, Castelvecchio, the Arena de Verona, and several other historical gems within a stone’s throw of the Roman gate (cloaked for renovations). Grazie!A great walk and some tasty bites!

We have been on a lot of tasting tours in various cities. We do it as a way to acclimate ourselves. Alessandro’s tour wasn’t the typical where you eat something, walk a couple blocks, eat something else. He took us out on the town in his city. He showed it to us as a proud son of Verona, imbuing history and coloring it with the personal. We did duck into places to try a nibble here or sit down in one place to try several bites. One eatery he wanted to showcase wasn’t open, but it was okay. He gave us recommendations for the rest of our stay—many of which we tried. His recommendations were spot on. We met Alessandro on a very rainy day for a tour of Verona. He took us to some amazing places, including a very old wine shop, fantastic pizza (the best we've had in Italy), and all of the important sites. Alessandro was a very good guide; he was personable, knowledgeable and informative. If this were a history tour, I would have rated the tour a "7". However, the tour was advertised as a food tour with "10 tastings". We had 3 (one stop for gelato, one stop for a glass of wine, and one stop for tortellini). The reason we signed up for this tour was to get a food tasting experience in Verona. We did not get that. It was a very good city/history tour, but very overpriced for its kind. Truth in advertising is important. Not a "food tour" as advertised

It was the first Time for us in Verona and we had tickets for Nabucco in the evening. Days before the guided tour, we received confirming messages from Alessandro, which was very welcome and comforting as we then knew that everything would go to Plan. On the day we met Alessandro Right in front of our accomodation - Right on Time. During our tour we got a lot of detailed Information from a very Knowledgable Guide. We also stopped at several traditional Cafés, Restaurants, best Pizza Shops and best Gelati in town. Not only did we speak about the history of Verona and it’s architecture, but also about how it feels to Live in Verona today. Alessandro is well-known and has a good network, as we Met a number of his Friends during the tour. It was an intense and holístic experience and gave a lot of Inspiration for our own walks through Verona‘s rich history. Alessandro also organized ( and paíd, to our surprise - and of course, we paid him back, although he did. Not ask ) for Drinks and Food during the tour. Never would we have found the hidden places, recommended and explained by Alessandro. And with this Information we were able to have Dinner in the best Restaurants to our Taste and budget. Alessandro did Not repeat a once-and-for-all Tour, but adjusted the tour, information and conversation to our needs. We can fully recommend a tour through Verona guided by a very competent, friendly and Open Alessandro !Verona for Beginners

Wir hatten die Tour für 4 Personen (2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder - 12 und 14 Jahre) gebucht. Martina, unser Guide war pünktlich am Treffpunkt und auch die Kommunikation voher war perfekt. Wir konnten schon mal uns vorher austauschen, was wir gerne essen und was nicht. Martina hat uns zielsicher durch Verona geführt und uns auch ein paar wichtige Geschichtsdaten zur Stadt und den Sehenswürdigkeiten erzählt. Das war nicht nur eine Food Tour, sondern eine gute Kombination. Die ausgewählten Lokale (man würde es als neudeutsch "Streetfood" bezeichnen) waren perfekt und hätte man als Tourist ohne Ortskenntnisse nicht gefunden oder nicht besucht. Man kann auch teilweise die Produkte im Laden kaufen und mitnehmen. Hab ich für eine Art Chutney auch gemacht. Besonders der Nudelladen und der Eisladen hat es uns angetan. Auch ging Martina auf individuelle Wünsche (Wein, Fleisch) ein. Martina hatte einen sehr schnellen Schritt durch die Stadt. Etwas mehr Gemütlichkeit während der Tour wäre okay gewesen. Die Aussage "10 Tastings" ist etwas irreführend. Wir waren an 6 Stationen mit unterschiedlichen Gerichten. Wir hatten dort verschiedene Gerichte. Aber wie die 10 Tastings gezählt werden ist schwer zu sagen. Schwierig war immer das Aufteilen der Snacks. Z.b. waren 6 verschiedene belegte Brote auf dem Tisch. Jeder wollte jedes Brot probieren. Das war nicht ganz einfach. Ich würde empfehlen ein Messer mitzunehmen. Die Dauer war mit ca. 3 Stunden angegeben. Nach 2.5 Stunden waren wir fertig. Zu viert haben wir knapp 280 Euro bezahlt. Uns hat es gut gefallen. Preis vielleicht etwas zu hoch.Essenstour Verona

I reserved 10 Tastings of Verona. Alessandro & I texted nite before and I confirmed with him this was the tour of 10 Tastings. When we met, he said he usually led smaller groups. I reserved for 11. We had one tasting of Affogato at noon. Our tour started at 11. He offered us a glass of wine at 2:00 when tour ended. I refused it because we were all so hungry and needed to eat. He never mentioned to me, the leader of my group about stopping for any other tastings. He did a good job of history and my group appreciated his knowledge. My husband and I enjoyed a very informative and appetising "10 Tastes of Verona" tour with our guide, Alessandro. He communicated with us very well before the tour, and we found him easily in our agreed meeting place. Cristina was a delightful guide, and this was a fun way to experience Verona. We enjoyed 4 stops at various cafes for coffee, tortino di riso, wine, cicchetti, cocktails, meatballs, and for the finale, an iced coffee and bite-sized tiramisu pastry. Everything was absolutely delicious. I think the best time for this tour is at 5:00 in the afternoon. We scheduled for lunch time and were a bit too hungry for just the small tastes. We would definitely book this again and make the timing adjustment. Cristina offered to take photos of our group while on the tour and we are thrilled with her bonus skills as a photographer!A Fun Experience in Verona!

De tour met Alessandro was onze eerste activiteit in Verona. Hij is een hele aardige/gezellige man met kennis van de stad, zeer leuke weetjes. Wij vonden het geweldig dat hij de 'toeristische plekken' links liet liggen en ons juist de leuke lokale plekjes liet zien. Vooraf had hij dit namelijk gevraagd en wij hadden aangegeven juist de lokale spots te willen bezoeken. Zo nam hij ons mee naar de beste locatie voor pasta, tortellini. De beste pasta die we ooit hebben gegeten! En liet hij ons 'Affogato' (espresso met ijs) proeven, iets wat we zelf niet besteld zouden hebben, omdat we niet weten wat het is. We zijn geen espresso fans, maar dit was heerlijk en hebben we vaker besteld in Verona bij dit tentje. Het waren echt plekken waar we zelf nooit zouden zijn gekomen, maar hij wist waar we moesten zijn. Ook bij een heel leuk klein winkeltje met achterin een mini bar en een oudere man uit Verona liet hij ons wijn proeven, dit was erg gezellig en leuk om het interieur te zien. Weer een plek waar we anders nooit geweest zouden zijn. Hij gaf ons ook nog tips van restaurants (lokale, met kwaliteit) waar we konden eten. En dat hadden we later zelf nog gedaan en was echt lekker op prachtige locaties. We hebben genoten en raden iedereen deze tour met Alessandro aan.Lekker lokaal, hele leuke tour!

Martina war sehr freundlich und bemüht, unsere Fragen zu beantworten. Ihr Deutsch war gut. Es war erstaunlich, dass Dinge - wie z. B. das Haus von Julia, die Arena - nicht gezeigt wurden. 2,5 Stunden waren zu wenig Zeit. Wir sind fast durch die Stadt gerannt. 30 Minuten mehr sollten sein, zumal der Preis für die Tour ja hoch ist. Die von Martina ausgesuchten Lokale waren durchweg gut! Ich denke, man kann die Tour machen, wenn es mal etwas Besonderes sein soll. Wir sind danach noch einmal in aller Ruhe durch die Stadt.Eine mal etwas andere Stadtführung

Wir hatten eine tolle private Tour mit Martina. 3 Stunden hat sie uns die Stadt gezeigt (auf deutsch!) und hat uns viele Köstlichkeiten angeboten. Da war alles dabei: Süß, Herzhaft und Alkohol. Mir hat wirklich alles geschmeckt. Ein Stopp habe ich besonders gut in Erinnerung: ein kleiner Laden, wo es Käse, Wurst u. ä. gibt. Das Besondere ist die Lage: direkt am Fluss. My review is a bit divided: First to mention is that we had a very lovely time with Alessandro, the tour through Verona was really nice and we learned a lot about the history of the town. Now coming to the negative aspect. We booked the culinary tour with 10 tastings for 2 pm. When we arrived at different spots they were all closed so we basically did not do any of the stops that are listed underneath the planned tour - apart from one coffee and one spot where we had wine. This for us was quite disappointing as we booked this tour (and paid quite a lot of money for it) with the purpose of experiencing local cuisine and wines and in the end we did not have anything to eat. I am not sure if this was because of Corona or because of the timeslot we chose - if the latter I would have liked some feedback to shift the tour for a couple of hours or an indication in the tour description.

Marco we the best host. He tailored his tour to the time of day we had chosen and took us to places we never would have found otherwise. We had our 7 year old daughter with us and he ensured even she enjoyed the experience. He gave us so much insight into the local culture and customs. It was the highlight of our time in Verona. He even made recommendations of places we could go eat outside of the tour so we continued to have an authentic experience in our time in Verona. Would recommend 100% A perfect night out with a local experience

Marco was waiting for us outside the church on time and for the next few hours we felt we were being shown around this beautiful city by a friend. Whilst we enjoy the odd Renaissance painting, tomb or church we really love the food and wine and the culture behind them and Marco was excellent, knowledgeable and of course passionate about all things Veronese. He showed us some wonderful places that were really hidden, under the radar and populated only by locals. We felt honoured and indeed returned to some of the places later in our stay. He was also interested in our perspective too and our own tastes and adapted the tour accordingly. With Locals is a great network and Marco is a great Ambassador for Verona, we will return and will plan another tour with him. Thank you Marco!Met as strangers, left as friends
