What you can expect
With this tour we will be covering the highlights of my hometown, Livorno! The history, curious facts, anecdotes mixed with some tasty stops at the local market.
I can't wait to show you the district where i grew up, la Venezia.
Not at all far from there: the New fortress, not that new if you think it goes back to the late 16th century!
I'd also like you to walk with me to the statue of Ferdinando de Medici, looking proudly at the port.
We'll be walking by the Cathedral , placed down the main street Via Grande, that's also the heart of the shopping area.
The best at the end: the colorful central market, here i'll make sure you'll taste some local flavors!
Focaccia, cheeses, extravergin olive oil,a fried local donut and the famous 5 e 5, a salty chickpea pie served with bread.
And also our special "ponce", a hot coffee with rum.

Valentina was a dream come true! Her walking tour of historic Florence was full of fun information that brought the history and character of this amazing town to life. Her guidance through the Academia and the Uffizi was expert and truly helped make the most of our time at both of these amazing museums. My husband and I might have visited these landmarks on our own, but we would have not enjoyed them nearly as much without Valentina. We had Valentina for a full day Guide in Florence. She is not only a very knowledgeable guide; she was also patient and considerate of everyone in our group. She was hired to lead a shore excursion for our cruise ship, and based in our wonderful experience with her, we plan to hire her for private tours when we return to Florenc and Tuscany. Her English is perfect. If you are worried about understanding a true Italian because of their accent there are NO WORRIES with Valentina. She speaks clearly and is very easy to understand. We arranged a walking tour as part of our daughter's wedding in Florence. We had about 15 people, and Valentina provided a wonderful 2 hour walking tour. She had so much knowledge about the history, and was one of the most entertaining guides we worked with!! She kept our entire group interested and was one of the highlights of a wonderful trip! We were a group of five adults and booked Valentina for a private tour at the start our week in Florence. She picked us up at our accommodations in the city and we immediately felt comfortable as she expertly told us about the many sites and history behind them as we walked. She is very knowledgeable, enjoyable and a true treat to be around. It was nice to let her book the tickets to see Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia. From the time Valentina met us at the SMN railway station we were in the best hands! Even before we arrived she made sure that all was in order and gave us the best directions to meet up with her, how can you miss a McDonald's! She has so much knowledge about Florence and a great sense of humor. She made sure my parents were comfortable and not too tired. Made a point of stopping at a place where they could sit while she explained what we were seeing or giving us a short history of her city. Always open to questions. She is the best, this was my third time in Florence but I learned soooo much from her. Thank you Valentina!Wonderful day in Florence with Valentina!

I went to school in Florence and go back very often, Valentina provided so much information on my short tour I did not even know previously. My wife and I took our 14 year old granddaughter to Italy for 8 days, spending time in Rome, Florence, and Venice. We wanted a day trip to Pisa from Florence, and I lucked into finding Valentina’s name while doing a Web search. I contacted her by email, and she was always prompt and efficient in her replies, but her vibrant personality showed through. She had many good suggestions regarding our schedule and ways to save money.
We agreed to a four hour private walking tour in Florence, including Accademia and Uffizi, plus many other local sites. She is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Florence and Tuscany, especially the Renaissance and its art. What made her special was her obvious passion for her region and her knack for presenting facts in an interesting manner to make it fun for us old folks and our granddaughter. She went over and above to be sure we saw everything we desired to visit, and she whisked us through lines and crowds.
On our second day she met us at the train station in Pisa(8 euros each for the 1 hour trip as opposed to much higher cost from other tours) and walked us through the town and the Field of Miracles. We were able to go inside the Duomo, the Baptistery, and the Composanto with her narration before my granddaughter and I climbed the Tower. She left us before we climbed, but she made sure we had our train tickets and knew where to catch a taxi back to the station. We all felt like she had become a dear friend, and we were sad to say goodbye.
You cannot go wrong if you engage Valentina as your guide, as she relates well to all ages.

I did the Florence Pisa Tours via Valentina Bassi. I had a wonderful time. I was in a rather large group and she made it so much fun. The Pisa Tower climb is an absolute must. If you can climb a few flights of stairs, you must do this. The highlight of my three week tour of Europe. Hands down. Valentina is top notch. So sweet too!This is a MUST DO tour!

Valentina is knowledgeable and personable. Her English and sense of humor are superb. She brought lots of details (the "homey" parts not just the academic) about the areas we visited that "aren't in the books."
