We had a special request for Nuno. Traveling with 3 generations women to Porto including my 81 year old mother who is in a wheelchair, it was a very personal onr. My mother really wanted to learn more about the history, art and tiles of Porto. From the first contact Nuno was very thoughtful and he understood our request very well. He developed a custom made tour and even rehearsed the walk to ensure it was wheelchair friendly. The tour itself was impressive! Nuno is so knowledgeable and passionated about his city. He is a true expert and because of his great English and pleasant voice very easy to understand. I would recommend everyone a tour with Nuno. During the tour we learned he also did cooking classes etc. If we knew beforehand we wld definitely booked that with him as well!! Big thanks Nuno, you ate doing an amazing job. Nuno was a great tour guide. We had been in the city already 2 days and had seen the river side so our tour included other main areas. We saw the old town with narrow streets and steps. We learned about the religious practises and churches and changes through history. Nuno has specialist knowledge of the tiles which is unique. He is an architect and gave us a good insight to how the city is designed and laid out and how it grew over time. He recommended an excursion to Matosinhos which was so lovely. We came upon a fish and seafood festival and the beach is sandy there. Thank you Nuno! Porto essentials tour is essential!

What a great way to see Porto. We had a private guide, Nuno. We met us at the lion foundation with a name placard. Upon introduction he asked what we do and what would be an interest to us. We walked around direct parts of the city for 3 hours. Basically from city center to the river. Besides been an excellent historian he told us about local culture. We went into a trendy jam shop and also an olive oil shop. We went into a hidden gem, there is a pharmacy museum in Porto. I am a nurse and he thought it would be of interest and it was. It was fascinating to see all the old medical equipment; glass syringes, medication equipment and more. Nuno was an excellent tour guide.Excellent, Knowledgeable Guide!

Nuno was a wonderful, engaging guide. We learned about the history of the various tiles that decorate Porto's buildings, the connection and inspiration of the Lello bookstore and J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter books, visited a chandelier / art deco mural adorned McDonald's and the iconic railroad station. We met Nuno at the Lion Fountain about an hour after we landed in Porto after 24 hours of travel from Canada and we had the best introduction to Porto and Portugal we could have asked for. Nuno is very well versed in the history and architecture of the city, we learned so much while at the same time were kept interested and engaged the whole time. Along the way he pointed out great places to grab a beer and enjoy some live music, places to enjoy traditional meals and tapas, and introduced us to some traditional pastries. He also lead us down streets and pointed out statues and buildings we wouldn’t have given a second glance. I would highly recommend Nuno on any tour, his love for the city is contagious and it kickstarted our trip on a high note. He is also full of answers to any questions you may have and was willing to stop and take a 10 minute coffee break or add/remove certain stops depending on your needs. Nino was recomended as a great guide and we made an arrangement and paid well in advance. One day before our tour, Nino writes an email telling us that he will be busy with another tour and sends a substitute. And on top of this all we had to wait one hour for this new guide to arrive. All in all, me and my wife fell very neglected.Disappointment!
