As I had a small window of time on my arrival in Berlin, meeting with Betty to discover many of the historical attractions was a beneficial experience. The perfectly executed plan on foot and rail around Berlin to the attractions provided enough flair and excitment to dive further into these attractions on my own when I returned in 2 days. Betty provided detailed information on all the attractions and gave helpful ideas into other areas of interest around Berlin. I highly recommend to solo travelers to start their journey with the warm welcoming of a local guide that can entertain as well as inform when first visting Berlin. Betty took us on a tour of Berlin and almost immediately it felt like old friends being taken around to see the history and highlights of this fascinating place. Betty provided great background and pointed out things we wouldn’t have known about (such as the checkpoint station). We talked about lots of things from the war/Cold War history to how Berliners see themselves now. She was great company and very accommodating when we decided we had to look at everything in the museum at the Berlin Wall. It was a great day and if we get back to Berlin we’ll definitely be booking Betty on another tourA great afternoon with Betty

She’s the best. Funny, lively, knowledgeable, curious. She took us to cool hidden places and had stories about everything. She’s an encyclopedia of contemporary art. She gave us a much better sense of life and culture in East and West during and since the Cold War. By the time we parted she was our best friend. Betty is amazing

We did a 3h walking tour of alternative Berlin. We enjoyed seeing some places we wouldn't have seen otherwise and some interesting street art. However, we felt there were very long stretches of walking that could have been replaced with a bus ride to save time to actually enjoy the sights more. We just had a few minutes at the East Side Gallery for example before walking on and by that time we were exhausted. To be fair,it was a very hot day. We finished the tour in Betty's neighbourhood which is very interesting and with lots of food options. Delicious vegan ice cream by the way! We had a really entertaining walk with Betty. We had only 2.5 hours and she managed to show us a lot. She was funny, had great energy. Would have liked a few more details in some places (my daughter and I are history buffs!) but we got a lot of information which we would not have otherwise known. She was also very helpful about what else we should do and see in the city and responsive to all our questions. Definitely recommend. A suoer entertianing tour

She shared her personal experiences of growing up in the midst of Cold War Europe, and brought new perspectives to well-worn paths of history. During the tour Betty didn't take any sides and showed us different viewpoints...how the Soviets thought, how the Jews thought, and how the German people reacted.
