I was excited by the reviews Ali had, and seeing Hiroshima. But the experience was not what I expected - basically a rote memorization and recital of the plaques without any history or content of the city before the war. why it was chosen to be bombed, the feel and nature of the people. I had some additional knowledge from my reading he did not have. I think this is not necessarily and issue with Ali, but with all of the guides who are no "locals" and were not born there, lived there and have family there. Nice Guide, but not a local

Nabeel took us on a tour in Hiroshima. He took my husband and I to the Peace memorial museum and peace park. It was a truly moving experience. He also took us to some other memorials in the peace park that we would not have known were there if we had not done the tour. Nabeel was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the atomic history of Hiroshima. This tour is worth doing if you visit Hiroshima. Good tour

Awais showed us around the memorial museum, park area, castle and gardens. He was a knowledgeable, friendly and adaptable tour guide. He was flexible with timings and always made sure that we were happy with the pace of the tour. He gave options about stopping at certain spots for more detail or moving on if we wanted and never made us feel rushed. He answered all of our many questions and had a lovely manner of imparting knowledge in a way that was interesting. We got so much value out of our Hiroshima visit thanks to Awais. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient with our questions and always had an interesting fact or anecdote to offer. When he saw the crowds at the museum he asked us if we wanted more time & he could stay on later than booked to ensure we got the most from our visit without being rushed. Such a gentleman, he even gave up his umbrella to another tourist in our group so she wouldn’t get too wet from the rain, and then proceeded to continue the tour without any cover for himself! All done with such good humour & no complaints. By the end of the tour, he was completely wet through. What a trouper! He took photos for us, pointed out other city landmarks and was polite enough to share his own experiences of living & working in Hiroshima. After the tour my friend and I were left with new understanding & thoughtfulness for the people & circumstances around the tragic A-bomb over Hiroshima. We highly recommend Awais - with him you get great value for money, then some! 10/10 with Awais!

Haq was such a great tour guide. He was very patient with our mixed group of grandparents and kids. His knowledge is incredible and he takes the time to explain and leave space for questions. He promised the kids he would buy an ice cream if he couldn’t answer a question so they spent the whole time engaged and thinking through tricky questions for him. Lots of fun (and we ended the tour with ice cream regardless). Highly recommend.Excellent tour - we learned so much

We were a group of 4 travelling from Kyoto to Hiroshima for a few hours. Nabeel’s tour was just the right length for our experience so we booked him. Nabeel offered to meet us at the train station so we could all make our way to the starting point together - very kind and not expected! In terms of the time spent with him, Nabeel had the perfect balance of talking about the history of the tragedy as well as allowing time for reflection. Admittedly, the park and museum are confronting to say the least - Nabeel was perceptive of our needs as a group and this ensured an optimal pace throughout our 3 hours - we did not feel rushed or overloaded. I would highly recommend Nabeel. While you can self pace these experiences, we found having a personal guide as experienced as him meant that we could immerse ourselves, know what was important to look at and not lose track of time. We had a very nice tour with our tour guide Haq. We made a last minute booking via the website and we were able to get in touch with Haq very quick. We started at 16.00hr so he had to make some adjustments so that we were able to see everything. Haq has a lot of knowledge including fun facts so we got a very complete picture about the history of Hiroshima. Definitely recommended!Great tour and tour guide!

Haq is a fantastic guide. In 3 hours he brought us through all the main sites and explained the history and significance of each monument and location. He was able to explain why some people and buildings survived while all around didn’t. He has a great interest and curiosity about the history of Hiroshima and was able to correct many of the misconceptions I had about the bombing. It was also very interesting to hear him talk about his experiences of being a foreigner who has adopted Hiroshima as his home. Finally when parting, Haq gave us a suggestion for lunch - a fantastic street food vendor where we had one of our best meals in Japan. I can’t give his secret recommendation away. You’ll have to ask him yourself. Great knowledge, great insights

My wife and our two teenage daughters had a wonderful and somber day with our guide Haq. He shared local knowledge and background of Hiroshima as we embarked on our tour. We started our visit at the Gates of Peace memorial and continued to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. My teenage daughter commented on how he had great awareness of where each of us were and how patient he was in creating space for each of us to have our own experience navigating the memorial at our own pace. He provided a good narrative including off the beaten trail details that would not show up in a tour book. We had timely rest stops including a stop for salt algae ice cream which we would not have found on our own. We concluded our tour enjoying a local culinary favorite - okonomiyaki - which was delicious and the two women that ran the restaurant were warm and friendly. If you plan on visiting Hiroshima we recommend securing Haq as your tour guide for the day!!

Awais Ahmed is a PhD student in Economics at the local Hiroshima University. We took the Hiroshima tour with him in March 2024. Awais is incredibly knowledgeable about Hiroshima and its history – especially relating to the atomic bomb. He walked us though the museum and he described some of the stories that the people experienced on that fateful day. Awais gave us a thorough understanding of what Hiroshima was like prior to the bomb and the destruction after the bomb. He was generous with his time and spent a bit extra time walking us around Hiroshima Castle. He is very knowledgeable about the major dates and events and he welcomes questions. My family of 4 had the good fortune to do a day trip to Hiroshima with Ali last week. He met us at the train station, and the day was seamless from there. Although such a heavy topic, he was engaging, informative and shared so much fascinating information. He related very well to each of us. At no stage did we feel pressured or rushed.
