Ho Jin "Jimmie" was a great guide. Our two hour tour was just the right amount of time to be engaged without getting tour fatigue. We explored the palace while Jimmie told us engaging stories about the history of Korea and the area. We opted to explore the Buchkon Hanok village and he took us to some very quiet streets and great views avoiding the crowds typical of the area. Would definitely recommend Ho Jin and this tour. Ich habe mit Sanghee den Gyeonbok-Palast besichtigt. Mir war es wichtig in zwei Stunden einen Palast intensiv kennenzulernen, daher wollte ich statt der zwei vorgesehenen Paläste auch nur einen besuchen. Das ist das schöne an einer individuellen Tour - diese wird nach Deinen Wünschen angepasst. Es ist wunderbar mit einem so qualifizierten Reiseleiter wie Sanghee unterwegs zu sein und eine tolle Einführung in koreanische Paläste. Mit diesem Wissen habe ich auch die anderen Paläste viel besser verstehen können. I visited the Gyeonbok Palace with Sanghee. It was important to me to get to know a palace in depth in two hours, so I only wanted to visit one palace instead of the two planned. That's the nice thing about a personalised tour - it's tailored to your wishes. It's wonderful to be travelling with a guide as qualified as Sanghee and a great introduction to Korean palaces. With this knowledge, I was able to understand the other palaces much better.

First of all, the reservation is easy to make and is well communicated. We met at 15:00 at The location where Sanghee was already waiting for us. Right away she was very enthusiastic and passionate. Straight away we went to Deoksugung. Sanghee explained everything from the ancient history and symbolic meanings of things. It was great and very impressive! After that we walked to Gyeongbokgung. In a meanwhile Sanghee told us a lot about the surrounding buildings and the meaning of 2 statues. Gyeongbokgung is a vast terrain with lots of buildings. We had a day with gorgeous weather for our tour. The meetup point was easy to find and Ho Jin was there well on time to meet us. The sights were very impressive and Ho Jin explained a lot of the meaning and history behind the buildings and architecture. Ho Jin was really great. Very knowledgeable and truly built an amazing picture of how the palaces were used and talked lots about the history of Seoul. The palaces would have been less enjoyable with out him. We went at a really nice pace and was able to go and explore parts of the palaces we wanted. I’ve recommended Ho Jin to friends coming later in the year and would defo book another tour with him when I come back. Ho Jin aka "Jimmy Lee" was fun, knowledgeable, and multilingual. He was flexible with 3 ladies who were inquisitive. We not only asked about the historical locations we saw, but he was more than happy to share information about every day life in Seoul and South Korea. I cannot stress enough his flexibility and relaxed style in touring. He was able to adapt to our group without making us feel rushed. I have no doubt he could push a group if needed, but we were not that group. He was so good members in our group tried to book him again with their spouses and members in our larger meeting group. For our first trip to Seoul and Korea, I knew that our group of 4 needed a guide to give us a "greatest" hit of Seoul. Ho Jin had the most reviews and seem to fit the style that I like for a city tour so I quickly booked him. Ho did not disappoint and delivered what was promised and more! We met Ho at Gwanghwamun Square on a sunny Friday. Ho provided good meeting instructions and was punctual. The tour started at the palace and we were lucky enough to be there during a performance similar to a changing of the guards. Ho bought tickets while we watched the performance and then we were off on the tour. Ho is able to talk with authority about Korea history and the story behind the buildings in the palace. He kept it interesting. After the palace, the tour continued in the surrounding areas. There is quite a bit of walking during the 3 hours so we covered a lot of places. We visited a traditional hanbok village, a Chinese temple that was having a festival with wonderful lanterns hanging, and also jumped on the subway and visited Ipsadong. Ho kept things interesting and tried to give us an expansive tour that really is the greatest hits. In fact, we went back to Ipsadong the next day to do some shopping. It is a good tour and the 3 hours flew by. The pace is relaxed and Ho made sure that we were comfortable throughout. His communication was perfect and he answers all our questions. The tour is a great introduction to Seoul and Korea. I would definitely recommend Ho for the tour! A lot of Seoul packed into 3 hours.

He listened attentively to our requirements and took us on a bus and train ride to a destination of our choice showing us how to get around with ease. It was perfect from beginning to end. Ho Jin met us at our hotel on time and delivered us back. His knowledge of the DMZ was extremely helpful, and we were fascinated to learn more about the Korean War from him. We had the ability to walk into tunnel #3 of the 4 tunnels found after the war in the 70’s in which the North was planning to attack again. Without a doubt one of my new favorite cities in the world- Seoul! Once I booked the tour, Jason immediately reached out to find out what we were interested, so that he could tailor the perfect day of sights. We were warmly welcomed by Jason at our hotel. I had only one day in Seoul - so decided to go WITHLOCALS to spend half of my day. Jason was great - met me at the hotel I was staying - he was very friendly and we visited a Palace - he gave me the history of it; and we went to Bukchon village - an amazing traditional neighborhood of Seoul - the very narrow streets with traditional housing; some nice shops as well; he offered to take pictures - and he is great in that! then he took me to an old area that has tons of little restaurants and cafés and art galleries - i loved th area! Jason is a one-of-a-kind private tour guide. I was on the lookout for a tour guide with three key qualities: great communication skills, a charming personality, and a wealth of knowledge. Jason was a great tour guide! There were 5 of us and he made sure to pick us up at our hotel and have a very nice van available that fit us all. We previously gave him some ideas of what we would like to do, and he accommodated to them very well. He took lots of family pictures and videos for us dressed in hanboks at a palace. He also took us to a restaurant and a cafe away from the city with the best mountain view! My mother-in-law had lost her glasses on the bus the night before, so he took us to a glasses store where they were able to give her an eye exam for a new pair. It was very helpful having him with us because it would have been very difficult to speak with them since we didn't know Korean. He also helped us pick out the perfect pair as well as had them delivered to our hotel! He even checked back with us to let us know they had been delivered. We ate lunch and dinner with him at delicious restaurants and made sure there was something for all of us to eat (mother-in-law is a vegetarian) and he felt like part of our family. My kids are 14 and 17 so he made sure to do things that they were able to enjoy. He was a great tour guide, and I am glad to have chosen him!!Tour of Seoul!

This tour gave great insights on the food culture of Seoul and it was amazing. Jason took us to the most authentic cultural food stalls and each of them were amazing. We were so full by the end of the day and there was still so much mode to explore.infact my friend was a pure vegetarian so he also suggested great tasty Vegan/Veg food. Jason is a top recommendation. We are a group of students and early professionals living in Seoul and booked with Jason to visit the DMZ. He knows the best spots in the DMZ and is able to put things into a broader contemporary context, not just focused on the past history. The best thing was that he was a true guide, selecting the best sights and skipping the waiting lines.
