We had a wonderful tour with Roxanne about the Jewish community in Vienna. We walked through the 2nd District and finished at the Holicaust Memorial and the Jewish Museum. My wife and I had the very good fortune to choose and the distinct pleasure to tour with Roxane. She is the guide for you if you are interested in Jewish history, Holocaust and Contemporary Jewish life in Vienna. She is warm and approachable, but a serious teacher at the same time. While some guides take you on "their tour", Roxane was interested in what we were most interested in and went from there. She has great command of the material so can answer your questions as they come up. While much of Jewish life in Vienna is rife with tragedy, our tour also included learning about the "good times" and many significant contributions of Jews in Vienna as well. Roxane is not Jewish, which we would not have known if she had not told us, as she is deeply understanding and empathetic of the immense and frequent discrimination and hate Jews have faced in Vienna, Austria and Europe. We recommend Roxane for all groups, all ages, without reservation. Jewish Vienna with Roxane--Tour de Force!!

Roxanne was our guide for the Jewish tour. Let me start by saying this young smart lady is not your average guide.She is curious by nature and boy does it show! We spent an afternoon learning not only about Vienna & it’s sad unfortunate history, but we got in depth conversations on various political topics, both old & new. Roxane was excellent and went beyond what we expected. We were on a mission to find the graves of my great great grandfather and one of his sons. They died in Vienna in 1900 and 1921. I am the great grandson of another son. The family left Vienna and settled in Glasgow Scotland before WW1 I had some details which I supplied in advance that had helped but before we arrived Roxane had done further research and took us to the cemetery and graves. Not easy in an old cemetery where parts are overgrown and the tombstones are severely weathered. We then visited other sites in Vienna. It’s possible that I am the first family member to have visited the cemetery in 100 years. Anyone who has Roxane as a guide will not be dissatisfied. We also used the underground and tram system to get around which was a great way to experience the city. Our tour was not an ordinary one and exceptional in the way she met our requirements which were to say the lease a bit out of the ordinary Malcolm. Myra livingstone. 10

Roxane was wonderful - from the great communications ahead of time to the level of detail and flexibility during our walk in and around town. We saw streets and landmarks that we never would have found on our own with a great history lesson along the way and clearly she has a fascination with art as well - so advice on museums etc was great! We also found some great places to eat based on her recommendations and she helped us navigate the tram a bit as well! We highly recommend Roxane if you are visiting Vienna!Excellent time and so flad we did it!

I booked two different city tours for groups and found both exciting and entertaining. Claudia Behling knows a lot without being didactic, connects with the group, and came up with a special feature each time – be it archaeological finds to touch or the wonderful Grotto Railway ride. Thank you for the competent and extremely interesting tour through the Tulln Roman/City Museum. The explanations of the excavations were particularly impressive. It's great to get such an insight from a real expert/archaeologist on how archaeologists work and what is possible. Additionally, we were allowed to visit Hundertwasser's ship Regentag in Tulln Harbor. That was the absolute highlight.Private Groups Vienna

Danke für die kompetente und äußerst interessante Führung durch das Tullner Römer/Stadtmuseum. Besonders eindrucksvoll waren die Erläuterungen zu den Ausgrabungen. Es ist schön, so einen Einblick von einer richtigen Fachfrau/ Archäologin zu bekommen, wie die Archäologen arbeiten und was alles möglich ist. Susanne is a very warm and engaging person, with an enormous amount of knowledge on Vienna due to her historian background. She is a wonderful storyteller, bringing to life snippets of interesting information about the places we visited. When we experienced a delay at one of the cafes we visited Susanne kept us entertained with more stories. Ultimately we ended up moving to another cafe due to the delay, but that was by no means any fault of Susanne's. We enjoyed our foodie tour. The tour of the Bergl rooms at Schönbrunn Palace and the subsequent walk through the Baroque garden were magnificent. Even as a Viennese, I saw corners of Schönbrunn I had never discovered before. Die heutige Grätzltour im grünen und Wurstlprater war der Hit. Frau Doktor Behling, unser Guide, erzählte unserer kunterbunten Gruppe wirklich spannend und als Eingeborene vom Stuwerviertel viel Interessantes zur Geschichte vom Prater. Besonders gefiel mir die Betonung, dass der Prater für alle Gesellschaften, ob etwas verrucht oder eben damals kaiserlich, heute „ High socieytig“ eine Entspannungsoase ist. Everything was smooth and easy with Roxane, from corresponding with her before the booking to meeting up my first morning in Vienna. She was willing to accommodate my request to get oriented to the transit system, including stops near my hotel, how payment works, and pitfalls to avoid. We talked about the history of Vienna and myths that make for great stories. You should ask about her thesis on cultural culinary institutions in Vienna! After our time together, I took our same route into the city center a few times and never felt lost. This tour with Susanne is great in several key ways. One of our group members had a gluten allergy, and Susanne was empathetic and helpful to provide suggestions and alternatives; I think this was the biggest reason we had such a positive experience. Our group of four loves to learn about history, and so we enjoyed seeing the sights between each food stop and learning about them, as well as understanding the current and historical context behind the food we ate. There were more stops with smaller amounts of food, which I think was a good way to experience many different culinary environments. We still had time to linger at each place, so we did not feel like we were in a hurry. Susanne was a personable and friendly person to follow. Some tour guides seem like they're reciting a script or working on "auto-pilot," but with Susanne, conversation flowed naturally all while she led us through Innere Stadt. We felt comfortable with her, and I strongly recommend this tour with her!An inclusive and educational experience!
