Roxanne was an amazing tour guide. I had been in touch. With her prior to arriving in Vienna. I wanted to see if I could find my family home and trace some significant family locations there. Roxanne greeted us with charm and extensive knowledge about the Jewish history of Vienna. She led us to my father’s home, school and synagogue while giving us some in depth history. My wife and I had the very good fortune to choose and the distinct pleasure to tour with Roxane. She is the guide for you if you are interested in Jewish history, Holocaust and Contemporary Jewish life in Vienna. She is warm and approachable, but a serious teacher at the same time. While some guides take you on "their tour", Roxane was interested in what we were most interested in and went from there. She has great command of the material so can answer your questions as they come up. While much of Jewish life in Vienna is rife with tragedy, our tour also included learning about the "good times" and many significant contributions of Jews in Vienna as well. Roxane is not Jewish, which we would not have known if she had not told us, as she is deeply understanding and empathetic of the immense and frequent discrimination and hate Jews have faced in Vienna, Austria and Europe. Roxane was excellent and went beyond what we expected. We were on a mission to find the graves of my great great grandfather and one of his sons. They died in Vienna in 1900 and 1921. I am the great grandson of another son. The family left Vienna and settled in Glasgow Scotland before WW1 I had some details which I supplied in advance that had helped but before we arrived Roxane had done further research and took us to the cemetery and graves. Not easy in an old cemetery where parts are overgrown and the tombstones are severely weathered. We then visited other sites in Vienna. It’s possible that I am the first family member to have visited the cemetery in 100 years. Anyone who has Roxane as a guide will not be dissatisfied. We also used the underground and tram system to get around which was a great way to experience the city. Our tour was not an ordinary one and exceptional in the way she met our requirements which were to say the lease a bit out of the ordinary Malcolm. Myra livingstone. 10

Susanne war sehr nett und hat uns tolle Lokale gezeigt und interessante Facts zu den Orten oder Wien erzählt. Die ersten beiden Stops waren auch super. Allerdings haben wir dann beim zweiten Stop recht lange gebraucht, sodass wir nach hinten raus zu wenig Zeit hatten, um noch etwas anständiges zu essen. Der dritte Stop war dann in einem Pralinenladen und der letzte ein Café zum Bier trinken. Es war also relativ wenig Essen bei der Tour und das letzte Café wirkte eher zufällig gewählt. Laut Beschreibung hätte es 6x Essen/Trinken geben sollen. Wir sind aber somit nur auf 4 Stops gekommen. Wir kennen das so anders von anderen Foodtouren, vor allem für diesen Preis.Gut, aber zu wenig Foodstops

As this was our first time in Vienna, we chose a City Kickstart tour through Withlocals to get an overview and introduction of what to see. Our local guide, Roxana was amazing! In addition to her bubbly warm personality, she was a wealth of knowledge. In the relatively short time together, we learned more about the history, art, culture and unique aspects we never would have picked up in a large group tour or reading a visitors' guide. Doing this on foot was fanastic as we saw so much and knew exactly where we wanted to return to to spend more time and tour inside. A really great experience! Sandie can tell you a lot about Vienna as well as travelling to many other places. In terms of food, there is plenty to eat! It is a good mix of savory and sweet Austrian dishes. It is also a good introduction to the city's center -- this is a great thing to do on the first day of a stay in Vienna, as it will give you a good sense of both the city and the cuisine. We next went to Cafe Engländer where I enjoyed the best Vienna Schnizel & potato salad - the dressing was delicious. I enjoyed my first glass of Viennese wine - similar to Riesling. We only had one day in Vienna and really felt Claudia-Marie was the best fit for us. She worked around her schedule so we could have a 3-hour city tour with her. Even though it was a city tour, we stopped in a famous place and got a pastry and had an opportunity to sit and get out of the cold as well as an amazing wine bar with a cellar! Sandy is a very warm and friendly guide. We spent an enjoyable day walking the streets of Vienna looking at buildings of interest and getting a feeling for Vienna. Although we would have liked more factual and detailed information about the architecture and history around what we saw. As a comment on the organisation, we were surprised to have to buy tickets for building entry or for the train on top of the tour price. It is better to be included in the price.
