We met Dionysis at @ 12:30 and spent 3 pleasant hours walking, talking and eating our way around Athens. Dionysis was attentive to our likes and dislikes and ordered our tastes accordingly. We walked through the meat and fish markets the had wonderful calamari, anchovies, meatballs, veggies both fried and fresh with a spiced cheese spread and some coffee. Next we went to another spot for sausage, gyros and fries. Then went to another bakery for the best spanikopita ever with handmade phyllo dough. We also some succulent pork skewers and ended our food tour with fresh, hot doughnuts. Our only complaint and it is minor - Dionysis is a smoker and my husband hates the smell. I thought he was very discreet with his smoking, but it was the only negative. Dionysis has a great personality and was very easy to talk with.Great walk with wonderful food

We enjoyed our private morning walk around the old town. Very informative and fun. However, our friends wallet was stolen from her back pack as we strolled. Our guide felt badly as it contained her credit cards, driver’s license and a $1,000 in cash. Please do not carry wallets that way. Our walk about!

The walk was full of interesting little local snippets like the famed protest dog Loukanikos (sausage) and the empty Embros newspaper offices and the tragic mangled remains of the tank crushed 1974 gates of the polytechnion. Dionysis was great. We arranged a very last minute tour which he was able to accomodate. We went through monastiraki, past the old forum then through some of the backstreets with interesting street art. Dionysis has a lot of knowledge about Athens and history in general and was able to tell us a lot about the areas and buildings we passed and also had answers for any questions we had. Firstly I should say that the weather was horrendous, heavy rain and wind which is not ideal for a walking tour! We really enjoyed the tour and learnt a lot about Athens having not been before. Dionysis was a little late meeting us (5 mins) but made up for it with his great attitude despite the weather conditions. Unfortunately out of his control but it was difficult to hear him and we could only speak when we stopped. I really think he made the best of it and when we did chat he knew a lot about Athens. After our tour Dionysis very kindly sent us recommendations for bars / restaurants and site seeing which was great and we were able to visit these when the weather improved!Informative and enjoyable walking tour of the main highlights of Athens
