We had a wonderful experience with Derek! After sharing that we’d been to the city before and were really interested in seeing some truly unique locations, we gave Derek a free pass to take us anywhere he’d like. He did not disappoint. We saw some really interesting spots and learned lots of fun facts that we didn’t know…even about some of the Dublin icons we had visited already. Art, history, food, music, whatever! You name it and he seemed to know a lot of obscure but super interesting trivia! We had a really fun time seeing Derek’s side of Dublin and appreciated the time he spent with us. The Classic Irish Pub Tour with Derek was a nice way to end our visit to Ireland. The first pub had a trio playing traditional Irish music. The next two pubs had guitarists singing Irish folk songs. I chose a different brand of beer in each pub. We got along well with Derek and enjoyed his choice of pubs. My wife surprisingly heard and sang along to a song she learned at summer camp 60 years ago. Without Derek as a guide, I doubt we would have enjoyed our last night in Ireland like we did.Great evening of drinks and music

Derek was v well informed on styles of Irish music and assured I would hear a nice selection of several, along with a variety of local beer. We visited 3 pubs w/traditional Irish music; rebel music; and an “open mic” venue with an impressive guitar player and a Leprechaun-like musician who played banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and a slide whistle…a genius duo. Derek explained the stories behind some songs/pieces, and shared his background, education, and family status. He provided an engaging and really fun experience, and I highly recommend him if you want to enjoy a major part of Dublin life. He made the event special.Great fun, beer and Irish Music.

We were privileged to have Derek guide us for a 5 hr walking tour of Dublin, and I cannot imagine getting any better experience than what he provided. He was on time and quickly made our group of four comfortable as we strolled from our hotel into the gardens, museums, and major areas of interest in central Dublin. Derek was extremely knowledgeable regarding the historical and cultural significance of all of the places we visited. He gives you everything you might want to know in presentation form, but he has levels of information deeper than the initial presentation available for you to unlock with deeper questions as well. While we packed a ton into our tour, he was also sensitive to the comfort of our group throughout, and made sure to keep our pace, geographically and informationally, within the capacity of our group. We found him to be the perfect balance of witty host and curator of information. I would not only recommend him, but happily do another tour with him myself. Great guy - great tour!

My husband and I brought my mother to Ireland for a two week trip and she said that the trad music pub crawl with Derek was her favorite activity of the trip.
