My wife, two children and I visited the colosseum and surrounding areas for 3 hours with Eleanor. She gave us a lot of really entertaining information as we went round and was very engaging for us and the children. Booking with Eleonora was absolutely the best decision I made for the entire trip to Rome! Her English is excellent, very easy to understand. Her knowledge of history is great as well. However, the best part about her was her assertiveness with other travelers and locals to get us where we were supposed to be when others were in the way. We visited St. Peter’s and the Vatican Museum during the youth pilgrimage for the Jubilee and the crowds were insane. If we were on our own we never would have gotten in to any of the venues, even with skip the line tickets. Lastly she managed to get us underground tickets for the Colosseum as well! Yanira had been referred to us by a friend who had taken a tour with her so we knew the tour would be great. The tour was so good she took time before we got into spaces where talking was not allowed to give the history, insight, and humorous back stories. You can spend days in the Vatican but our schedule (and a 15 yo) only allowed a couple hours and it was the perfect. Yanira was able to show us spaces and cut through busy areas to allow us to maximize our time and also gave us tips for things to do after our tour in the Vatican and in Rome. I booked an all day private tour with Sara and she was amazing. She was able to speed the tour up and skip a few things to appease our crowd. Cecilia reached out ahead of time to suggest that the best time to see the Colosseum was in the morning before it got too hot, and boy am I glad she did -- the day ended up being a scorcher. We had my 80 year old mother-in-law with us, and Cecilia was able to tailor the tour of Palantine Hill to limit the amount of climbing -- we skipped walking through the Forum, and instead she talked to us about the Forum as we admired it from above. I would highly recommend Eleonora if you want to do a private tour of the Vatican/Sistine Chapel. This was the first time at the Vatican for our 18 and 20 year old granddaughters and Eleonora struck the perfect balance of providing interesting info about the most important features of the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel without getting bogged down on any one subject. Even though my wife and I have been to the Vatican several times, Eleonora made it interesting for us as well.
