I organised this tour for 2 for my partner's birthday. I chose Vesna based on previous reviews. Vesna not only gave a superb tour, but was able to answer our many questions about what we were seeing and history of recent happenings in history. I asked Vesna to direct us to a bakery but she surpassed this by taking us to an excellent restaurant for bubbles and choice and cake. The ferries were not running due to bad weather so Vesna organised a wonderful chauffeur driven car instead. Hvala Vesna! Knowledgeable and adaptable guide

Karmen was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond to help us have the best experiences. We booked a private tour with her, especially because my partner has walking difficulties. Karmen was very flexible and adjusted the tour according to our needs. She's very knowledgeable and passionate about her job. She left us wanting to know more about Dubrovnik. In particular, she researched accessible areas for us, supported us with mobility, gave us good advice on where to eat and drink, shared the bus schedule with us from where we were staying to get into the Old Town, and shared details for a paint and wine experience. Karmen was inclusive and spoke directly to my partner, who was in a wheelchair (unfortunately, this doesn't always happen). She also has a great sense of humour. Vlaho was our knowledgeable and passionate guide who gave us a much deeper awareness about the travesty of what happened in Dubrovnik and the Balkans in the 1990’s. While visiting the massive Dubrovnik walls as a tourist is impressive, the activity is hollow without having an understanding of the many faces of Dubrovnik’s history, expertly woven together by Vlaho: from early times through to the Ottoman Empire’s threat, to the golden years of the Dubrovnik Republic, Napoleon’s rule, Austrian rule, Tito’s Yugoslavia, and finally the splintering of the region into individual states in the 1990’s. Vlaho himself fought to preserve Dubrovnik’s and Croatia’s independence, and his story is fresh like yesterday. We started at the top of Mount Srd, where we could see how this vantage point was critical to saving Dubrovnik from being overrun by the enemy. As we learned about the devastation of lives and the town, we felt a great measure of sadness for what people and this great city had to endure just 30 years ago at the hands of the aggressors. It is people like Vlaho that make sure these memories are never forgotten. Vlaho took us through the old town, pointing out historical highlights as well as sharing guidance for other suggested activities during our stay. Being guided by him on our very first day in Dubrovnik set the stage brilliantly for the rest of our trip!History brought to life

“The wine tasting and street food tour is a great experience, not just for the excellent wine and cheese to start, but also for the opportunity to sit and chat with a local, being able to ask any questions. The evening was fun, we learned quite a bit about Dubrovnik itself and its development of the tourist industry in the last few years. It wasn't just a dry lecture, it was a fun conversation where Romana was very open about different cultural aspects, giving advice on how to further plan the holiday and just general smalltalk. While the main streets are quite busy in the evening, the wine bar and the street food shop werent too crowded and still allowed for a decent conversation without having to shout to get over the noise. Overall would definitely recommend the tour to get a more personal view and experience in dubrovnik.”Local experience

The tour included: pick up and drop off from our ship, beautiful panorama shots of Dubrovnik, historical facts including tour of sights where Game of Thrones was shot including photos of scenes! “I cannot recommend Romana highly enough! She is the friendliest and loveliest tour guide we have ever had! It was such a wonderful tour being shown Dubrovnik from a local, she showed us hidden gems and gave us excellent advice from food recommendations to tourist information. She recommended excellent restaurants to eat at and took us to a local shop (which we would have never found by ourselves) where we had some local cuisine and coffee which was delicious, we even bought t-shirts from her fathers shop which was great value and a lovely reminder of our trip.
