I organised this tour for 2 for my partner's birthday. I chose Vesna based on previous reviews. Vesna not only gave a superb tour, but was able to answer our many questions about what we were seeing and history of recent happenings in history. I asked Vesna to direct us to a bakery but she surpassed this by taking us to an excellent restaurant for bubbles and choice and cake. The ferries were not running due to bad weather so Vesna organised a wonderful chauffeur driven car instead. Hvala Vesna! Knowledgeable and adaptable guide

“The wine tasting and street food tour is a great experience, not just for the excellent wine and cheese to start, but also for the opportunity to sit and chat with a local, being able to ask any questions. The evening was fun, we learned quite a bit about Dubrovnik itself and its development of the tourist industry in the last few years. It wasn't just a dry lecture, it was a fun conversation where Romana was very open about different cultural aspects, giving advice on how to further plan the holiday and just general smalltalk. While the main streets are quite busy in the evening, the wine bar and the street food shop werent too crowded and still allowed for a decent conversation without having to shout to get over the noise. Overall would definitely recommend the tour to get a more personal view and experience in dubrovnik.”Local experience

I spent a lovely afternoon learning so much about the city and people of Dubrovnik both past and present. Mia gave me several recommendations for restaurants as well as which shops sold authentic Croatian products. Our time ended with coffee and cakes and some wonderful conversation. “I cannot recommend Romana highly enough! She is the friendliest and loveliest tour guide we have ever had! It was such a wonderful tour being shown Dubrovnik from a local, she showed us hidden gems and gave us excellent advice from food recommendations to tourist information. She recommended excellent restaurants to eat at and took us to a local shop (which we would have never found by ourselves) where we had some local cuisine and coffee which was delicious, we even bought t-shirts from her fathers shop which was great value and a lovely reminder of our trip. This was the highlight of our trip and exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Romana’s tour as it made our stay in Dubrovnik so much more than the few tourist things you think of doing. What an amazing time we spent with Mia! She is extremely knowledgeable, charming, and fun to listen to. We heard and learned so much. Our flight to Dubrovnik was delayed but Vesna did her absolute best to accommodate our schedule. Vesna was personable, knowledgeable and gracious. Karmen gave us a wonderful introduction to Dubrovnik perfectly tailored to children, and made sure I could bring the stroller for my youngest. Although my two girls were incredibly shy and didn't talk the whole time, all Karmen's commentary all went in and they were captivated. I have been amused to hear from my daughter's teacher that when she went back to school she educated her whole class on the history of Dubrovnik, the Saint, why there are cats etc. The school were impressed and I said it was our fantastic tour guide! Karmen also took us into a fun Christmas shop, and to a handful of other stops including a great craft beer bar that made my husbands day, and also gave us great advice. Vlaho did a beautiful job mixed history, experience and a world of knowledge about his beautiful home town of Dubrovnik. He messaged me back and forth and patiently made sure all my questions were answered. Vlaho gave my group perfect instructions as to where to meet him. My wife has troubles with lots of stairs, cobblestones and inclines. He made sure that she knew in advance where the few steps were and watched out for her through the whole your. From the time we started the tour, Vlaho explained very articulately how history brought us to where we were right then and there. He explained how things have changed over the years. He didn’t miss a step. He made us feel like locals walking through small side streets discussing whatever we saw. My wife and I have been traveling for over 40 years and I consider Vlaho one of the best tour guides we ever had. When you come to Dubrovnik, you must tour with Vlaho. We are a couple from the US and unfortunately we only had two hours in the evening to see what we could of Dubrovnik before our flight. Eliana was super flexible and punctual and she did a really nice job bringing to life the complex history as well as the unique architecture of Dubrovnik. She also brought us some lovely local chocolate and took us to a lovely gelato and pancake place that the locals love. We highly recommend Eliana to anyone! Eliana was terrific!

We had a five-hour walking tour exploring Dubrovnik’s history as well as a broad selection of the region’s typical food and wine. She adapted the tour to perfectly match our interests. We were on a cruise and Karmen’s tour was far better than those in other ports organized by the ship. Karmen is extremely knowledgeable with respect to Croatia’s and Dubrovnik’s history, culture, and food and wine. She planned our itinerary to stay away from the hordes of tourists in Dubrovnik by taking us to off the beaten path locations—a beach, several small local snack bars, food markets, and a wine store and wine bar—to expose us to excellent food and wines we never would have experienced. The history and culture portions were also complete and interesting. Karmen paced the tour to match our walking speed ( not so fast) and minimized stair climbing as much as possible. Eliana was very friendly and welcoming of our family of 5 for the kid-friendly tour. She walked us through the old town, with interesting facts and stories about ancient and recent history of the region. She did miss the mark on the ‘kid-friendly’ aspect however. I had provided the ages of our 3 children (11, 13, 14) in advance. She did not engage them much at all, there was minimal age appropriate content. She gave them a colouring book more suitable for a 5 year old. I think their favourite thing was the ice cream at the end, which we could easily have obtained on our own. Vesna was magnificent. So much knowledge and so many stories. It was a pleasure walking the old town with someone so well versed in local history. The tour was based on crime and punishment during the Middle Ages. Told with some humor and some tragedy. Her forte is being able to blend the bleak with the amusing. Jardanka showed us Dubrovnik old town in a way that we could appreciate her town without being overwhelmed with history. She pointed out the less obvious things around old town away from the crowds. Her recommendations lead us to explore Lokrum island the following day which is a gem especially if you want to get away from the crowds and hike around the island. Our tour with Vesna was one of the highlights of our time in Croatia. She grew up inside the walls of Dubrovnik—a true local in a seemingly fairytale place. Her description of how her family lived during the war moved me to tears, and left us with images of what life inside the walls was really like. This tour was unique as it combined the old history of the city with its more recent history. We ended our tour with a much greater appreciation for the place. We spent much of our trip trying to learn more about the war. Vesna is such a genuine, lovely person. She was so generous in sharing her very personal stories with us.
