Great tour! Just our party of 4 with our tour guide Mydie who was wonderful! We did a leisurely tour for 3 hours with lots of great food and lots of great history. Our private food tour with Mydie was wonderful. She is personable and fun, and we felt like we were with an old friend. Walking around the city and going to several different food places on both the North and South sides of Dublin, was very interesting. We got to sample meat pies and cider, fish and chips, some very yummy fudge and chocolates and of course, to top it all off, delicious ice cream. It was a great day and we hated for it to end. This is extremely disappointing as I reserved this food walking tour in April and I arrived this morning in Ireland for the first time looking forward to this experience. Had I known this was a scam, I would have booked something through TripAdvisor but was hoping to support local. What a horrible let down. Waited for over 45 mins for an individual that never showed up and never communicated any alternatives. So far this company has been has been inattentive with regards to any follow through with a refund or explanation. What a scam and a horrible first day experience in Ireland. Scam

There are two sides to this story. First, Mydie was a delight! As you will read below, she made this tour happen for us and we are grateful. She was knowledgeable about the general history of the country, that tied beautifully to the stories about the food. She made it feel like we were sharing food among friends. Thank you, Mydie for a great day with full bellies!!!! The first thing we look for when we travel is taking a food tour….highly recommend! We were very excited to add Dublin to our list. Booking months in advance, we were very disappointed that the tour was cancelled a few days in prior with no explanation. We had planned a lot of the trip around this. I went back to the website to see if anyone else was available. They were not. I decided to reach out directly to Mydie. She sowed she was available an hour earlier than our preferred time, but not our time. Being this was our arrival day, I did not have the flexibility to start earlier. She immediately responded to me and said she could make it happen! I was hesitant to try again, but we are so grateful we did. The experience with the tour company was bumpy, but Mydie (who had nothing to do with the scheduling issue) came through with a wonderful tour! We had a lovely afternoon with Mydie. She gave us a little bit of Dublin history and took us to many wonderful places to eat. This was our first tour that we did in Ireland, and it was a perfect way to start our vacation. Mydie met us promptly on schedule and took my wife and me on a most enjoyable 3 hour morning tour. She obviously loves Dublin and is knowledgeable about its history and folklore. At the end of our trip we were pretty tired. When we met up with Mydie we were expecting 10 small tastings so 10 different stops. Instead we made 5 stops with big meals at each stop plus a bag of chips. This worked out for us as we were pretty tired from the end of our 18 day trip. The amount of food was a lot. We had a lovely experience with Mydie the best part of the walk was the information she gave us about Ireland's history we found particularly interesting her knowledge around Catholic and Protestant coexistence in Ireland both in the past and in the future. It was a pleasure spending three hours with her. On another note (and this is feedback for the planners of the tasting menu) although the food choices were delicious we were hoping to taste more of authentic Irish food but big part of the tour was general cuisine or Mediterranean food (that was delicious) but because we are from the Mediterranean area this was less exciting. Lovely experience
