I wanted to buy some local fabrics to then make my clothing with a taylor at home. Purvi took me to the local market and showed me textile I didn’t even know that existed locally - silk Ikats, colorful embroideries on tulle / organza. It was exactly what I was looking for. Purvi made it feel like shopping with a friend BUT at the same time she was 100% in charge of logistical aspects - communicating with the sellers, making sure I can pay by card, getting me a taxi back to the hotel. To sum it up, Gautam was an awesome guide! We had an excellent day exploring Elephanta Island, learning about the caves and carvings and the different Hindu Gods. Gautam also included lots of information about Mumbai, its culture, and he provided recommendations on where to go for food and drink! As an added bonus he photographed and took film clips from the entire day and sen them at the end! We are a family of 5 (including kids aged 18y, 15y and 10y) from the UK. Initially had thought to visit the caves with a guide book in hand but glad we opted for a tour with Purvi instead. She immediately clicked with all the kids and kept an eye on them throughout. The historic information was fascinating. The general conversation flowed very easily and it was like touring with a friend. Purvi gave us tips and ideas for the rest of our trip which we couldn’t get in a book or online. Having Purvi with us for this trip was initially a question of if it was necessary or worth the cost, but after we finished we realized it was all not only worth it, but it made it all such a better experience than we could have imagined. If you are a person new to India or someone with children and want to have the experience of visiting these Caves, then having Purvi there is a must. Not only was she great with the kids and very aware of their wellbeing and asking them good questions and caring for them, but she also helped us navigate the tricky ticket system involved that I wasn’t prepared for (even though I did my research online beforehand). There were at least 5 or 6 different situations where we had to have tickets or pay a toll and without her it would have not only been incredibly stressful but also we probably would have overpaid significantly (she even helped negotiate buying some trinkets on the way down from the caves). As the father who wanted to make sure everyone was safe, having her there made me so comfortable that I was actually able to enjoy the time rather than worrying the whole time. We booked our time the first afternoon after arriving in the country. It was the first time for any of us in India and the first time outside the US for our kids. Before we met her she was already giving us restaurant recommendations and was flexible with us when things took longer than we thought. We met near the ferry in a nice area and she guided us through the complicated entrance after pre buying the ferry passes for us which saved us a lot of time. She made us all safe getting onto the ferry and then spent the next hour talking with us and our kids, playing games with the kids, and making it such a great memory for them. When we got there she helped us figure out the getting to the caves and past all the people trying to sell us tours. She was patient with us getting up the hill and helped us figure out how to pay for the bathrooms as well. Once we got to the caves she helped us get the right passes into the caves and then when we got in she was amazing at finding great places in the space that weren’t crowded to tell us all the history behind the carvings and then also patient when our kids asked a ton of questions. She was able to be flexible with some of our kids hitting a wall of jet lag and heat and figured out how to adjust her plan for us to make it special without being too much. On the way back she also helped us get a treat for the kids (and pay the right price) and made sure we made the last ferry off the island (which wasn’t posted anywhere that I saw). The whole time we watched out for us and made sure all the kids were there and didn’t run off. She was also playful with the kids and let them be kids rather than expecting them to be adults. The ferry ride home she played games with the kids and helped them feed the seagulls that followed the boat (this might have been their favorite part). Overall, it was such a great experience that probably would have turned out to be a nightmare if we tried to navigate alone. Purvi also answered our random questions about things in India and helped us with things like prices to buy dresses for a wedding and what to eat the next day for street food along with making our kids feel safe and speaking to them like people. In addition to this she has experience in other countries so she understands what we were going through. Would give her an 11/10 if I could. Can’t recommend highly enough. Amazing - A must for foreigners with kids!

This tour exceeded my expectations. As a solo woman traveler who is india for first time, I was not sure if it is safe to use withlocals. But my experience with this tour and tour guide will remain with me forever. My friends said it is not safe to navigate india alone, sure this experience proved that idea to be totally wrong. I had lots of fun with Purvi, she is absolutely amazing and well informed. A fascinating role model of professionalism, light heartenedess and exceptional service. She even offered to start together and take transportation before the tour. But I missed that because my hotel was close to gate of India. She made sure I was safe while climbing to Shiva caves. 💯 recommended and worth every penny really. Love ❤️ itAmazing

We had the most amazing food tour with Gautam! From gosa to lassi and everything in between! Gautam met us close to our hotel & after our first gastronomic treat we took a local train (what an experience - we would never have done it ourselves!). We went to local eateries which I would never have found by myself…the lassi was particularly good in that it was very thick and eaten with a spoon. I cannot recommend traveling with Purvi enough! She arranged an itinerary to my liking and had everything set up for us. We visited incredible temples and markets. Amazing south mumbai experience with our tour guide Gautham !!! This tour was so great to go on, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get a feel of Mumbai in a short span of time. My kids loved mumbai so much , that at the end of the day they didn't want to leave the city :(( Right from catching up on our delays to on the fly changes in itinerary to visit certain spots Goutham was very adaptable and was super personable. He also made sure we get the best of the food tour as well. Vada pav is our most favorite dish now :)) We felt like we toured mumbai with a family member rather then a guide .His knowledge about the culture and city was truly impressive. A lovely tour of this bustling and elegantly historic area of South Mumbai. It was unlike anywhere else we have been in India - full of Victorian gothic architecture and British Raj resonances. Chandramoham was vigilant about keeping us safe as we negotiated the busy traffic and was also proactive about being in touch with us before we met; both much appreciated. In the 3 hours we had, we visited so many places in Mumbai. I learned how to use the local trains, saw incredible architecture, roamed the streets of touching neighbourhoods and learned many interesting stories and details. Purvi was a great guide, and really fun to spend the time with. Thanks again :) The price was a bit high though.

We were only in Mumbai for about 5 hours before this tour and Ritesh got the balance just right for us. He contacted us directly in advance to learn more about what we might like to see, and tailored our 3 hour walking experience perfectly for us. Ritesh’s English is v good and we connected well. Purvi was a fantastic guide! She had so much to tell and show us, with enthusiasm and an engaging style. She took us to places that we wouldn't have found on our own.
