We chose Ioannis as our guide for a food tour in Athens – and what an experience it was! The theme was Greek cuisine, but the tour offered so much more than just flavors. Ioannis shared his deep knowledge of both food culture and history – we especially remember the story about why the Acropolis, despite its name, is not the highest mountain in Athens. Those little insights truly brought the tour to life! He took us through the meat, fish, and vegetable markets ❤️ and introduced us to amazing local specialists and authentic eateries well off the typical tourist trail. I had an incredible experience with Ioannis on an off-the-beaten-path tour of Athens. From the very beginning, he really listened to what I was interested in and tailored the tour to match. He took us through local neighborhoods that combined street art, culture, and history in such a thoughtful way. One of the highlights was when he showed us some hard-to-find ancient frescoes tucked away in an area I would have walked right past if I were on my own. I was only in Athens a short time for the first time and wanted to get a sense and feel for the city. Dionysis was accommodating and really flexible. I booked for a much shorter time that we actually spent walking and touring. Thomas took my travel group of 8 around Athens for half a day and everyone had a fabulous time. Thomas is engaging and knowledgeable. He first made sure that the rest of our stay in Athens was well scripted and made useful suggestions. Then we set off pounding the pavement and the time flew by in an instant. What a great experience we had with Ioannis. He clearly takes great pride in sharing his love for Athens and the food and culture there Don’t expect to walk around the touristy areas. Ioannis took us off the beaten path to vibrant local neighborhoods where we experienced how real Greeks eat and shop. The dinner spot he chose for us set the bar for every meal we had during our entire 12-day trip—it became our gold standard! Real authentic cuisine. Most importantly, Ioannis was incredibly accommodating, especially when it came to my food allergy. Ioanni was amazing!!!! We were SO happy we hired him for our morning tour through part of the center. Ioannis masterfully wove mythology, architecture, history, and cultural information all together. We had two teenagers with us and while history and mythology isn’t really their thing, ioannis included them and made it a bit more interactive. We loved his explanation of the Agora, our walk through Anafiotika (neighborhood of tiny homes at base of Acropolis in the Plaka), and our walk through various neighborhoods. So much info packed in a few hours!!!! Wonderful!

We had a group of 5 adults and were able to arrange a full-day Delphi trip from Alimos on June 5, 2025. Nikos was an excellent guide and a wealth of information. From picking us up at our VRBO to stopping for coffee and pastries to get an early morning off to a good start, everyone in our group had a wonderful day. We were able to make modifications as the trip progressed that best suited our group and Nikos offered great workable options. We had a fantastic experience with Thomas. He led us on a guided walking tour of the city which took us through all the major sites. Thomas has an encyclopedic knowledge of Greek culture, language and history and was able to contextualize everything we saw. Nikolas was a bright spot on our last day in Athens. He is a skilled driver and as a Greek native gave us tips on the islands he recommends while in our way to the vineyard. The vineyard tour and tasting was a casual laid back oasis. Nikolas also went above and beyond by dropping us at the airport which was nearby. I highly recommend with locals for day tours.
