We had a fantastic experience with Thomas. He led us on a guided walking tour of the city which took us through all the major sites. Thomas has an encyclopedic knowledge of Greek culture, language and history and was able to contextualize everything we saw. Nikolas was a bright spot on our last day in Athens. He is a skilled driver and as a Greek native gave us tips on the islands he recommends while in our way to the vineyard. The vineyard tour and tasting was a casual laid back oasis. Nikolas also went above and beyond by dropping us at the airport which was nearby. I highly recommend with locals for day tours. Our tour to Cape Sounio was a wonderful blend of natural beauty and cultural insight. The drive along the Athenian Riviera was absolutely stunning, with sweeping views of the coastline and the Aegean Sea. Ioannis offered insightful and engaging commentary throughout the drive. We really enjoyed our trip to Cape Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon with Nikos. We arranged to be picked up at our cruise terminal and dropped off at our hotel in the afternoon. Ioannis was great! We had a personalized tour experience with him. He asked what we were doing afterwards, and we told him the Acropolis, so he designed our tour to end close the Acropolis. He also recommended a restaurant for lunch that had our favorite baklava of the trip! For our actual tour, he showed us around and gave us the history of all the ruins as well as a few secret bars/restaurants that had great ambience (one had a fantastic view). He answered all of our questions, taught us, and took pictures for us. We highly recommend Ioannis!Great guide!

Thomas was an absolutely amazing tour guide. He was kind, funny, very knowledgeable, and the perfect person to guide a tour! You can just tell by the way he speaks of both ancient and modern history that it is a passion for him, so if you enjoy history he is the best guide for you. It was truly like having your friend show you around. He provided drinks and snacks for the drive and made great conversation. He told us about the history and mythology of the places we were driving by in the way, and he had a PDF ready to go for the site itself since he couldn't enter with us! It was great to be able to set our own timetable rather than be herded on and off a coach and to be with an Athenian who can give you knowledge and insights that you probably won’t get elsewhere. Thomas is a charming, knowledgable, enthusiastic and friendly person who speaks excellent English. Imagine walking through a foreign city with a good old friend who has lived there for a long time: in addition to some of the “typical” attractions, you will hear stories and gain insights that only a real “local” can present to you, especially if he loves his city with all his heart. That actually describes our tour “off the beaten track” with Thomas perfectly. I generally feel well informed about my vacation destinations thanks to extensive reading - and we've already been to Athens several times. But Thomas always had that one extra story to share that you wouldn't find in a travel guide. We touched on topics such as mythology, history, architecture, trendy districts and the Tembi railroad accident (currently there is a temporary memorial in front of the parliament building) as well as people such as Kekrops, Zorbas, Kazantzakis, Babis Stokas, Callas, Onassis and Melina Merkouri, and Thomas never failed to provide answers. When he left us after around four and a half (!) hours with an insider tip for a type of greek beer that is rarely available on draught, the time had just flown by. There were 9 of us with Yorgos. Some have never done this type of tour before. He was super accommodating with such a large group. Yorgos gave us a meeting spot within walking distance of our hotel and it was super easy to find. We had SOOOOO much food. Everything was fantastic. Some small bites and then we sat down at a restaurant and had a feast!!! We learned the history of the food and tried so many different things. I would recommend this 100% but probably do less than 9 people lol was a bit harder to find places to sit with that many. What a fun experience!
