W really enjoyed our walking tour with Joao. He did a nice job of talking about the history of the Jews in Portugal as we toured through many of the beautiful neighborhoods in Lisbon. Joao is amazing. So kind and thoughtful and interesting! He knew such a wide range of history and fun facts about Lisbon, and especially the Jewish community that left us thinking and wondering more! He did a great job pointing out tips of places to go and ways to make the city more accessible (hidden elevators, escalators, etc.) and he was awesome to send us a detailed list of many more recomendations and followed up on the various things we spoke about. He was able to make the tour interesting for our 10 year old daughter and also was sensitive to the heat that day, and kept looking for spots with shade where we could talk comfortably. João is an excellent guide. He shared his historical knowledge of the city and the country with us. He gave us his personal insights and understanding of the Jewish heritage in Lisbon. He took us to the modern memorial stone. There isn't much left behind of 300 years of Jewish presence due to the destruction caused by the earthquake. It wiped out more than half the city. He was sensitive to the fact we weren't used to walking the steep hills of this beautiful city. He took us to see some amazing views. Finally he showed us a great place to eat dinner. Given João’s reviews, our expectations were pretty high, and he did not disappoint. João was relaxed and a pleasure to be with. He was eager to share his deep knowledge of Lisbon’s history and to also give us a sense of her as a modern, living city. We especially enjoyed his tour of the Mouraria which we likely would not have otherwise seen. My husband and I were traveling through Portugal ending our trip in Lisbon. We decided to take a tour of the city to learn more about it. We looked at several other tour companies and tour guides and chose to go with João, and we felt like we hit the jackpot the moment João began our tour! João was not only very knowledgeable about the city of Lisbon in general but also about the history of Portugal and Lisbon as it portrayed to us and our questions and interests. He led us through lovely neighborhoods, leading up to beautiful vistas, overlooking the city, explaining to us about the different governments and policies that have shaped Portugal to become what it is today. Ricardo led us on a jewish walking tour of Lisbon...while there is not that much to see, he was knowledgeable, warm and his english is great. He even picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the first stop, which was very helpful as my husband is not a great walker. And then he drove us back to our hotel...again very helpful. I would hire Ricardo again. He was a delight to be with and taught us a lot about Lisbon.Ricardo went above and beyond!

We LOVED Inês! She accommodated our group tour with grace and ease. She was SO kind, celebrating my daughter’s 7th birthday with us by showing us a favorite local ice cream place. My husband and I had the most wonderful half day tour with Luis to Sintra this weekend. He is such a nice person, a very good driver, and so knowledgeable. We got so much more out of the tour than we were expecting: a trip to the historical city center of Sintra, a guided tour of the grounds of Quinta Da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca and then the coastal drive to Belem, with stops along the way. You can choose which palace(s) you want to see. We had a great time and we could never have done it on our own in that amount of time. We booked Marta on the day we arrived in Lisbon and selected a 6 pm start time when the day’s high temps began to cool down. She tailored our nearly 3 hour tour to our interests (history, neighborhoods, tile and places to eat. I know: isn’t that what everyone wants? We booked a last minute tour of Lisbon’s highlights and hidden gems and were lucky enough to have João as our guide. Even though he just finished a prior tour, João was enthusiastic, warm, engaging, and clearly loved sharing his love of his city with us. João was very knowledgeable and just a great story teller, bringing Portugal’s history to life. We walked through several neighborhoods learning about their place in Lisbon’s history as well as important literary figures, famous places, and getting a great idea of the layout of this beautiful and vibrant city. I traveled solo for my first trip to Lisbon. Rodrigo was the perfect choice for a tour guide. He knows literally everything about the city and its rich history and is friendly and funny. Rodrigo was also very flexible and able to show me areas and shops that met my interests. And, his little sidekick, Poznan, is the perfect ambassador for the city. Her tail never stops wagging she greeted everyone with excitement. It was a great tour and I cannot recommend Rodrigo highly enough for solo travelers, families with children or groups. He communicated with us before the tour and accommodated with a later start and ending due to personal reasons. We never felt rushed. This was our 1st time in Portugal and this tour enabled us to see Obidos, Fatima, and then remain in Nazare, our next destination after Lisbon. Our tour guide Luis was absolutely fantastic! He was really fun to travel with and extremely knowledgeable about the history of all places en route! We never felt rushed and had the perfect amount of time at each town. And when we arrived in Nazare, he assisted us in checking in to our next hotel and orienting us to other aspects (restaurants, etc). Again, we chose not to return to Lisbon.
