This was the first time visiting Lisbon and Francisco’s tour was an excellent introduction to the city. Francisco was a terrific guide with a real passion for its history and culture, taking us to places of importance and where we wouldn’t have thought to go without his guidance. He was very friendly, amiable and spoke excellent English. The tour was for 3 hours but he actually gave us more of his time. He gave us recommendations for the rest of our week and places to eat - well worth it. Afterwards he also messaged us about the coming storm and palace closures. We spent two delightful days touring Sintra and Evora with Rita. She was knowledgeable, full of interesting stories, and extremely accommodating to our group of twenty-seven. She anticipated our needs, planned a reasonable and enjoyable itinerary, and kept us on track. Rita had many suggestions for good places to eat, she knew alternative pathways for those who needed or wanted them, and created a good balance of tour time and free time. Rita was fabulous, knowledgeable, personable + engaging. We really appreciated her introduction to traditional Portuguese food + drink, including a quick shot of Ginjinha between stops. We loved the casualness of the places we visited from the best custard tart maker and charcuterie shop to the traditional restaurants while we enjoyed salt cod, sardines, cheeze, jambon, chicken croquettes + chorizo sausage along with local wine samplings. Aside from the food, Rita also provided us with interesting commentary on the city and took us to areas that we might not have discovered on our own. We did not have Luis. We had Jorge. Luis had such fantastic reviews and I was really looking forward to his tour. However he had another commitment so he offered another guide in his place. I didn't want to cancel and try to find another tour since it was only a few days away so he suggested Jorge in his place. Jorge was nice and provided the standard tour but I feel we could have seen more. Jorge might be used to having tourists stop to shop, have lunch and admire scenery for extended periods of time but we wanted more tour experiences. We did not even see the Pena Palace which I was looking forward to. It may have been different if we had communicated with Jorge directly before the tour.Sintra Tour

Good evening Ines, just back from a delightful Portugese tapas style meal near our Hotel. Thank you for the wonderful adventure we enjoyed so much through Lisbon. So many places we would never venture to visit on our own!! It was a shame about the tram, but that’s life, so be it, and isn’t the end of the world and an opportunity to improvise!! We had a wonderful day trip to Sintra. Even though Pena Palace was closed, we had a great time checking out the main town and Regaleira. We had a delicious lunch and then headed on to the windy ocean overlook and Cascais for gelato. Our family of four (two kids) very much enjoyed all the sites and trivia and getting all of our questions answered throughout the day. The trip was tailored to our needs including a different pick up and drop off location to fit with other activities we had planned. We also had some questions before the tour that were promptly answered and helped us in planning. And we got some tips for things to check out the next day on our drive south. Ines was an incredibly informative guide. She pointed out things about Lisbon that we would never have known. I'm glad we passed on the big tour and picked this small group tour. You can instantly tell that she enjoys doing this and this isn't just another job. Everyone in my group enjoyed the little drink right after the tour started. The most interesting part for me was knowing that the road we were on was an old cemetery. I cannot think of anything that this tour could improve on. Thanks Ines! We loved this tour. Peter is so knowledgeable about the history of the city and took us to lots of wee tucked away streets and places of historical importance. We learned so much in 3 hours. Cannot recommend highly enough. When we come back we would definitely try one of his other tours.
