We opted for the shorter 1.5 hour tour thinking our kids would lose interest and Frederico made the most of it, filling us in on the history and giving us an appreciation of what it was like in Ancient Rome. Had a fantastic tour with Federico of the colosseum and surrounding area. First time in Rome and first time using With Locals. This is a private tour in every sense and we couldn’t be happier with our experience with Max! He tailored everything to our preferences (including breakfast place recommendations and switching meeting place to our Trastevere neighbourhood). With our two boys (15 & 11) and in an actual heatwave, Max made sure we saw all the key sights, found us shade and water (and gelato) along the way and held their attention the whole time. He had a wonderful time walking with and learning from Max. He is incredibly engaging, crazy smart, but has the agility to communicate with individuals of all ages and interests. Max knows art, architecture, philosophy, history….but you could have a whole normal conversation with him, and never know he is such an adapt intellectual. This was our first time using the With Locals platform. We loved that we got to pick our guide and that we were put in contact with him after booking, allowing for easy communication. Our group was a mix of people who had been to Rome before and some who hadn’t, including two small children ages 5 and 3. Max was able to put together a tour that kept everyone entertained. He was extremely patient with our two children. He showed us a wonderful toy store and played games with the children along the tour. We were able to see all of the main highlights in the city center with some hidden gems for those of us who had been to Rome before. Myself, my wife and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed our time with Vania who is a real Roman. We did the tour in the early evening and the amount of food that we tasted was more than enough for our usual evening meal. Vania steered us to foods and flavors that are uniquely Roman. The small establishments that she chose for us were a testament to the artisanal nature of their craft and also ones that she frequents with her family and friends. My family and I did our first walking tour of Rome with Max. Max wss super communicative from the start, chill and very easy to talk to . He’s funny, kind and very accommodating . We had 2 kids who weren’t always the best behaved through the 3 hour tour ( some tantrums and fights along the way) but he was super patient and went with the flow. He took us to this amazing gelato place too :) Max had lots of stories to tell which made all the history so fascinating - his depth of knowledge and all those details that he knows are clearly impressive . We had an amazing tour - and would highly recommend him to anyone ! Great walking tour !

Auf unserer Rom Städtetour Anfang Mai 2025, haben wir Romain für eine 5 Stunden Full Coverage Rome City Tour gebucht. Zuerst einmal möchten wir uns noch einmal bei Romain für seine unglaubliche Flexibilität und seinen Kundenservice bedanken, da wir aufgrund von Anreiseproblemen erst mit 8 Stunden Verspätung in Rom eingetroffen sind und den vereinbarten Termin mit Romain nicht einhalten konnten. Internet sei Dank, klappte die direkte Kommunikation und Romain hat uns angeboten die Tour zu splitten, so das wir am Anreisetag 2 Stunden und am Folgetag 3 Stunden das Vergnügen hatten uns von Romain fachkundig, mit vielen Anekdoten und Hintergrundinformationen versehen, durch diese erstaunliche Stadt führen zu lassen. Oft liefen wir abseits der überlaufenen Touristenattraktionen, entdeckten versteckte Hinterhöfe, gingen kleine, schmale Gassen entlang, um plötzlich wieder auf einer belebten Piazza heraus zu kommen um dann in der nächsten Gasse weitere Jahrhundert alte Säulen und von außen völlig unscheinbare Gebäude, kaum als Kirche zu identifizieren, zu entdecken, die dem Besucher viele Malereien und andere Schätze bereit hält. Wir können nur jedem, der eine Städtetour abseits der normalen Wege sucht ( Closseum, Vatikan etc. sind groß genug, die findet man auch allein ;) ) eine ausgedehnte Tour mit Romain absolut empfehlen und würden diese auch jederzeit wieder buchen, da es noch viel mehr zu sehen gibt. 11 von 10 Sternen.Full Coverage mit Romain. We had a very good tour of the Forum Romanaum with Max who was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, courteous and patient. My father - 85 years old - took his time and Max adapted his spiel with plenty of rest (in shadowy spots) and with guidance at the right level. Our guide, Chiara, was very friendly and had the right pace for the day. She answered our questions and kept us moving, but did not feel rushed. We liked that she focuses on local establishments (not chains) and has relationships with local vendors. The market was great to explore (Clare gave us time to shop, too!) and we loved seeing the restaurant's wine cellar. I liked that this tour spent more quality time in a particular area, rather than running around trying to see all the attractions. I would recommend this tour to others as a great way to get to know a neighborhood that is a bit off the beaten tourist track in Romegood way to explore the Testaccio area

A casual stroll about the city, but worth every turn and dodged Vespa! We were shown epic churches, wine shops, lunch places and local spots! We ended up going back for lunch / espresso at recommended spots! Epic! We were shown “off the tourist” path things- details you can research unless a local shares the details!
