I actually booked the tour very last minute (I paid an hour before the tour) and Argelia is very accommodating. She is very responsive and immediately brings me around despite the very last minute booking. She took me to local places and get to see how the locals live. This was a tour of a local neighborhood with stops at small local independent shops and the market. The food at the market was delicious, and Teo gave us lots of good recommendations. My market/Gracia tour with A. Teo was friendly, informative and actually kinda relaxing. We strolled through Gracia where she not only contextualized Gracia’s role within Barcelona, she gave me a thorough history of Catalonia’s place within Spain. I was eager to learn more and she answered every question with insight and candor. We then hit up the market where we sampled many amazing dishes. Pintxos, jamon, a surprisingly rich tripe dish, a mid-morning vermut and more. It was awesome. Every vendor seemed to know her, which made me feel less like a tourist and more like a guest. Her tasty walking tour was definitely a highlight of my trip. I couldn’t recommend it more. Informative and Delicious

A fantastic tour with great knowledge and wonderful food, Teo is instantly likable, informative and very accommodating, We had a lovely amble through the streets in Gracia before entering the market to the delightful array of foods on offer, Teo explained wonderful the history of the market and explained what/how many of the products were produced, when then sat and enjoyed the wares the market had to offer. I can't not recommend this tour highly enough, Although I recommend Teo even more, she is a wonderful guide and it is clear that she loves her city and is very very knowledgeable about it. I loved my tour of Gracia - so nice to be out of the more touristy areas and really see places that locals use and love. I was shown delightful boutique shops that can’t be found anywhere else, she explained locals customs including those that are unwritten but never questioned! Finishing in an amazing local market where she showed me her favourite vendors and I was lucky enough to taste some of her favourite foods. Also offered advice and help on other sites to visit in Barcelona that I hadn’t seen. I would 100% recommend this tour and my guide to anyone who wants to know more about the people and local customs of BarcelonaIntimate and enjoyable local experience

We took the WW2 Spy tour and Teo was a wealth of very interesting information. Spain may have been officially neutral, but it was not neutral at all. We loved the connection of her great grandfather and the spy/double agents. She has maps, photos, documentation that she shares. However, it wasn’t just WW2, when we were at Passeig de Gràcia, she gave detailed explanations of Casa Battlló (Gaudí), Casa Museu Amatller (delicious hot cocoa), and Casa Lleó Morera. We wanted a mostly WW2 tour with a little architecture too. Very highly recommended tour! Teo, a Great Guide and Historian!

We had a GREAT experience doing the “Jews and Gentiles in Barcelona” tour with Teo! She shared historical information, remains of actual locations and many wonderful anecdotes. Teo really brought the existence of Barcelona’s Jews throughout the ages to life for us! Her delightful personality and vibrant energy kept us interested and totally engaged throughout our time together. An added bonus was our visit to the Christmas market where Teo explained the meaning of unique customs and traditions celebrated in Spain! Teo gave us a very informative tour of the gothic quarter. She took us into shops and explained the history/unique architecture of places the average tourist would walk by, and have no idea the historical significance or story of that spot is. This is the only type of tour you can get from a local, that really knows Barcelona. I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your trip, so you can return to places you saw on tour that you would like to spend more time at. Informative - not your typical tour!

She suggested I look at each store, get a business card and then venture back after lunch. Great advice!! Our host was a great guide for the area of the Gothic quarter and Jewish quarter, with a wonderful grasp of the history from the Romans to today. My husband and I enjoyed the "backstory" on the various neighborhoods, houses, cathedrals, and castles we passed, with lots of opportunities to take photos.
