Didi had double booked so he never came. Instead, he sent a taxi driver. It was a very nice driver, but it wasn't a guide. There was no guide out in the cemetery, which was the whole purpose of the trip. It would have been better to cancel the trip.Sent a taxi driver

Cose negative: - [ ] Didi non era presente durante l’escursione ma un driver é venuto al suo posto, non una guida privata - [ ] Durante tutta la giornata abbiamo provato a contattare Didi ma non abbiamo ottenuto risposta - [ ] Alla prima fermata, il Batuan Village temple, ogni domanda che rivolgevamo al nostro accompagnatore non sapeva come rispondere, perché non originario di questa città. - [ ] Dopo aver pagato di più per avere un tour personalizzato, modificando due tappe, si è rivelato impossibile da eseguire completamente per mancanza di tempo. Quindi abbiamo dovuto rimodificarlo e tornare ad un piano simile a quello originale fermandoci in una tappa durante il percorso (monkey forest) per poter sfruttare il tempo a nostra disposizione, eliminando quelle richieste (Tengelalang waterfall e Go Gajah temple) - [ ] Nonostante abbiamo cercato di contattare Didi per poter avere l’ingresso al Monkey forest incluso, come da preventivo originale, non abbiamo mai ricevuto risposta e quindi abbiamo dovuto spendere 200.000 IDR di tasca nostra per l’ingresso al Monkey Forest - [ ] dopo aver ricevuto pressione durante la visita al rice terrace per paura di arrivare in ritardo allo spettacolo di danza conclusivo, siamo arrivati con mezz’ora di anticipo. - [ ] Per sfruttare al meglio quella mezz’ora guadagnata, nonostante abbiamo chiesto ripetutamente di fermarci per fare shopping durante il tragitto, il driver ci ha consigliato di andare in questo centro commerciale vicino al luogo dove si teneva lo spettacolo perché, a suo dire, avevano la stessa merce. Si è rivelato un luogo di scarsissima qualità da cui siamo usciti 5 minuti dopo. Nonostante lo abbiamo avvisato dell’accaduto ha continuato a bere il suo caffè e fumare la sigaretta dicendo che non c’era più tempo per andare altrove, finendo quindi per non poter più fare shopping e aspettare più di 15 minuti l’inizio dello showNot “Didi” on the picture or a local guide

Didi is a highly recommended guide. Everything went according to plan, and we also had the freedom to customize the trip. He gave us excellent recommendations that only a local would know. My fiancée and I had a great time, and we would recommend him to anyone. Luckily, I had my camera with me, and Didi even showed me how to operate it manually, as he’s also a professional photographer. Not only did he introduce me to Balinese culture, but he also taught me some photography skills 😁🫶🏽More than just a guide!

Didi messaged on the morning of the trip saying he’d hurt his foot and wouldn’t be able to take our trip for us. However I didn’t need to worry as his ‘experienced friend’ would look after us. I was fine with this and looked forward to the trip. Hi ‘experienced friend’ was lovely but cleared had no idea what was planned for our trip. He kept calling Didi to get more instructions and he also had no knowledge about the areas we went to. Other people at some of the stops had guides accompanying them, explaining local knowledge but we were dropped off in what felt like a glorified taxi ride. The trip itself included stops that felt pointless (a trip which we were told was to a silver factory but was actually a massive corporate silver shop and a ‘wood carving stop where we would do our own wood carving. This was actually just another stop where we were shown around a showroom and asked if we wanted to buy anything). On the way home I could see over the drivers shoulder him getting messages from Didi discussing a job tomorrow. At no point in the day did Didi check in to see how the trip was going. Something felt completely wrong with the whole trip and it defiantly didn’t feel like a trip with a local. I sent a message afterwards to let Didi know we were dissapoitned and why. He read my message but didn’t reply. Then got many messages from his friend begging me to leave a good review as he needed the work from Didi. I eventually called Didi out which got a response. He apologised and said he would offer me a partial refund (no amount specified) but he’d be in touch ‘in 3-4 days when he had received the money from Withlocals. That was 8 days ago and no word from Didi. I no longer want his refund and would rather leave an honest comment It’s put me off using Withlocals again sadly. It was far from the experience I was hoping for Incredibly dissaponting experience

We chose Didi, a local guide to show us round some of the sights beautiful Bali has to offer. Didi was great with communication and picked us up in an air conditioned mini bus, which was brilliant as it was a very hot day! We had limited time but Didi ensured we made the most of what we wanted to see. We visited the monkey forest, rice fields and a coffee plantation. Didi was very informative and also an excellent photographer!! Memories definitely made, thank you Didi. We would definitely recommend booking a tour with him. Amazing tour would recommend!

Didi was a lovely guy who provided interesting information about Bali and its culture when asked. Unfortunately, he was almost 2 hours late picking us up due to the traffic, which meant we lost a lot of time and missed many sites on the tour. Didi did accommodate our requests to visit batik and silver making locations. We probably should have kept a better watch on the time so we could have fitted more into the day. Overall, we didn’t feel the tour offered value for money. Not quite what we expected

We had a lovely day exploring outside of the busy central area of Ubud. Didi was able to show and explain to us more about Bali custom’s. While it was all good - our boys highlight was wading up a stream to see a hidden waterfall. Didi was an excellent guide and was happy talking away to our thirteen year old as we drove between sites.Excellent day out with Didi

My guide/driver Made was great fun to do a full day trip with. He showed me some real authentic and historical places, like the old court, the waterpalace and an ancient little village. He was very friendly, patient and told some great historical background. So it wasn’t only fun, I did learn a lot about the Western Bali culture. An absolute recommendation to explore the Eastern part of Bali with Made. Great experience, good value! A must do!

Overall, the tour wasn’t great. Communication with Didi prior to the tour was minimal/non-existent, and it took follow ups from myself to confirm that he was actually picking us up from our hotel. On the day of the tour itself, Didi unfortunately seemed uninterested in acting as a tour guide and was more preoccupied with his phone, and was completely quiet through the car rides. There was no communication about how the day was going to look, where we were going first - nothing. At the first stop, Kerta Gosa, he passed us off to one of the local guides there, who then requested payment from us. While this guide explained about Kerta Gosa to us, Didi sat on a step and watched videos on his phone, and was sending text messages. The next stop was the salt farming. This wasn’t bad, and Didi provided some further insight. Next stop, the water palace. The drive from the salt farm was long, and Didi continued to be completely silent - with no insight or explanation about anything we were seeing on the drive. When we got to the water palace, Didi accompanied us in, gave a few brief words, and then left us to look around and went to sit in the car. There was really no insight into the history of the place, or anything. Again, he seemed uninterested in acting as a tour guide. The last stop was the Bali Aga village, which was great. Would have been good to see a bit more, but we went later in the day. Overall, this was my least favourite tour that we did on this trip. Didi’s apparent disinterest in acting as a tour guide, constant phone use, and lack of communication both before and during the trip made it uncomfortable. Whilst the sights were great to see, it felt like I had hired a private driver rather than booked a private tour guide. I wouldn’t recommend this tour.Meh

Didi was the perfect host to show us around the exquisite sites in east Bali. He was very knowledgeable about Balinese history, culture, and traditions and didn’t mind answering our many questions! My husband is a professional photographer and appreciated Didi’s knowledge of where to get the best angles. He even made a couple of extra stops for us so we could feed monkeys and so my husband could photograph local rice farmers and the sunset. We had been to Bali many times before but never experienced the sites visited on this tour. We really got away from the crowds of tourists and delved into traditional Bali, from a huge local market selling ceremonial dress, fruit and vegetables, and pet birds and fish, to the Bat Cave temple, one of the most significant temples in Bali. The highlight was the Taman Ujung water palace with its exquisite architecture and gardens and peaceful atmosphere. We would highly recommend this tour and Didi as a guide. We wanted to find a local host, so use withlocal, and found here Didi. But we gone with his driver, not with Didi!!! He was polite but he is only a drive. We paid to much for only a driver... it was so dissappointed. Where was Didi???

This was one of my favourite experiences during my 11 days in Bali. I don't want to say too much about it, all I can say was that I recommend everyone and anyone travelling to Bali to sign up for this! It is a bit physically challenging as one should expect when deciding to go on a volcano trekking adventure, but the guide was very understanding and patient, we could take breaks every ten minutes when it was getting hard for us, so we managed to get on top and enjoy some amazing time watching the sunrise - THE STRUGGLE IS MORE THAN WORTH IT! It was a misleading experience given it was booked to be with Didi and instead we were greeted by his father. Previous to this, a lack of communication advising us of the appropriate preparation and attire resulted in an experience well below our expectations. It appeared all other hikers were well equipped with warm clothing and hiking instruments. Unfortunately, due to the above, we were unable to fulfill the experience as we were too wet and cold and it had become far too dangerous. Didi’s father suggested on numerous occasions that we were reaching difficult weather situations and advised turning back down, despite all other groups continuing on. We would not be recommending this to others and we are still confused as to the cost involved.Disappointing Experience

nous avons été enchanté de faire la connaissance de la famille de DIDI C'est son père qui nous a accompagné pour le trek du mont Batur. C'était une expérience extraordinaire avec ce guide attentionné attentif à mes difficultés sortant d'un grave accident de voiture. Certes je n'ai pas pu finir la monté ;il nous a proposé de nous asseoir et d'attendre tranquillement le lever du soleil !!!quel bonheur Nous avons fait connaissance puis il a invité dans sa belle maison pour prendre un café et nous restaurer et nous a présenté son épouse . The hiking was cool but after hiking we heard many people who paid way less then €66. So I think the price-ratio is too high. Beyond that the guide (the old man) is doing fantastic :DIt's cool but way too expensive

This trekking organized by Didi and his family was the highlight of our vacation! From the driver to the guide, everybody was so friendly and helpful. This was an amazing experience! Didi’s team licked us up on time and we’re very pleasant. Our actual guide to the top was super sweet and friendly. The actual trek to the top is very difficult, not for the inexperienced hiker! Luckily, our guide was super thoughtful recognizing when we needed to stop and rest. Not sure I would do this again but for the one time experience it was definitely worth it! Also, wear pants and definitely bring a sweatshirt or jacket, it’s freezing at the top! Amazing guides and tour!

We had booked early morning volcano trek with Didi and it was very well organized by him. His team was fantastic and worked very well for us. Eka drove us to the volcano trek starting point. He was very informative, friendly and gave us good advice to plan the next day in Bali. He drove very nicely and brought us to the spot on time. Our guide, Ketut, was very energetic and polite. She kept with our pace of climbing which is very slow as we are no trekkers ;) .. This plan included a visit to coffee plantation with free coffee/tea sampling.. Overall experience of trek was wonderful... I highly recommend this team ! We also booked Eka for our next day - one day trip to Ubud and Tanah Lot. Good tour.. Awesome

Buchung für das Sunrise-trekking auf den Mt. Batur ging super schnell und einfach. Kontakt mit Didi war auch ganz einfach und er erklärt auch alles. Vergisst nicht eine Jacke mit zu nehmen, da es morgens noch kühl ist und teils kann es sehr windig sein. Didi's Vater war mein Guide und war ein seehr freundlicher und netter Man. Er hat immer geschaut ob es mir gut geht, hat sich an mein Tempo angepasst und hatte mich gut unterhalten. Was ich jedoch sagen muss: die Strecke ist nicht easy-medium sondern eher heavy. Gutes Schuhwerk ein muss und Kondition. Den es geht steil hoch und der Untergrund ist nicht fest. Wenn man nicht ganz fit ist, dann sollte man es lieber lassen. Den der Weg ist schmal und ihr müsst die ganze Zeit konzentriert sein. Im Ganzen lohnt es sich wirklich. Die Aussicht, der Sternenhimmel und der Sonnenaufgang entschädigt alles! Ich empfehle Didi und seine Familie von Herzen weiter! Danke an das Team!Not easy-medium but worth it!
