Il tour e' molto interessante perche permette di conoscere la storia recente della citta attraverso i murales. Elisabetta ci ha mostrato non solo la East Side Gallery, ma anche tante altre opere nascoste o perlomeno non facilmente individuabili, anche perche non presenti sulle guide ufficiali. L'arte dei murales e' in continuo cambiamento, alcune opere che vedi oggi, magari non sono piu presenti un mese dopo, o nel frattempo nascono dei nuovi murales nella notte. Per questo motivo consiglio questo tour con Elisabetta, che ha uno sguardo da insider e vi permette di scoprire quello che le guide non dicono. Inoltre e' consigliabile fare il tour all'inizio della vacanza, perche nei giorni successivi, camminando per i quartieri di Berlino, si possono ritrovare altre opere degli stessi artisti riconoscibili nello stile perche spesso vi e' un Leitmotiv che ritorna (oltre al Tag spesso presente). This tour with Elisabetta was a great experience, not only highlighting the fascinating street art of the Kreuzberg district but also putting it into a social, cultural and political context, too. What I loved most was that she focused on smaller works of street art and graffiti, as well as recurring motifs by different artists, rather than just looking at the large, dramatic murals that the area is famous for. She even met us early in the day since we had to catch a plane and reversed the route (i.e. ran the tour backwards) so we could end up near the proper train station. My daughter and I spent a very cold walk with Elisabetta, but, this did not detract from the tour in any way. We felt we learnt a lot about the art work that we saw and it was interesting putting them into political and social perspectives. I was impressed with what I was shown and learnt a lot. Tour was organised last minute and she very kindly re jiggled her diary to suit. this was such a great way to see the real Berlin visiting for just a few days we had seen a lot of "tourist" spots as you do. Elisabetta was fantastic. We were worried because we had gone to the East Side Gallery before meeting with Elisabetta and we were worried that we would just be seeing it again. Fortunately, we told her this and she said it was no problem. She was able to take us through places we would have normally overlooked and showed us street art that would have normally been in the shadows or background. Moreso than just pointing them out, she was able to give us insight, stories and history behind some of the pieces, that experience alone was enriching. She was warm, inviting and informative. This tour was amazing, completely chilled and enjoyable. Elisabetta is the perfect host, the whole time felt like chatting with a friend. She tailors the tour to your interests, and also has so many suggestions if you are new on the scene ;) Learned a lot about the background of different artists on this unique tour through the vibrant world of urban art in Berlin. She showed us some truly moving pieces (which we would not have known about on our trip otherwise), and it was great to hear the stories behind them. Our eyes were opened to more of the art around us after we left the tour, we noticed and enjoyed so many little quirks of the city after talking with Elisabetta. It was a really cool and insightful experience, one of the overall highlights of our trip to Berlin. Elisabetta is incredibly knowledgable, and so passionate about the street art scene in Berlin. I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the Street Art scenes with Elisabetta. She is friendly, passionate about art and you can sense her strong connection with the ever-changing art and artists in Friedrichschain and Kreuzberg. Her grasp of the past, present and future of this particular art form in this most unique city helps one understand so much more than you could ever learn from merely walking and observing on your own. I strongly recommend taking this tour on your first day in Berlin so that the rest of your trip, as you see urban art installations you may recognize the artists and have more knowledge about their motivations... are they political, whimsical, satirical or merely ironic. I will be happy to take this tour again when I return to Berlin in the future because this is a dynamic scene and changes are certain. It will be interesting to see what is new in a year or two. I had a grafitti and streetart tour with Elisabetta and we covered Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte areas of Berlin with some amazing grafitti and streetart. Elisabetta knows so much about the artists that create this wonderful art and the meaning behind it and it was so interesting to hear the explanations and interpretations of the art pieces which made all the art come alive even more. Highlights for me were the Kartoffelpuffer (always a good sign when you're queuing next to a group of police officers) and the best baklava I've ever had. On a rather cold and wet January day, we met Elisabetta. She took us on a wonderful walk through Berlin, off the beaten track. Me and my son and his friend all thoroughly enjoyed walking round Berlin with Elisabetta learning about the street art of Berlin. Very informative tour and Elisabetta is very friendly and was also really great with the kids (9 yr olds).
