On arriving in Madrid with my family our first experience was the Veggie Food Tour with Drica. She did a fantastic job explaining the history of each place we went to while introducing us to Spanish delicacies like Paella, tortillas and croquettes ending with churros dipped in chocolate! Along the way we also tried the local beer and vermouth. Drica was excellent in communicating with me right from when the tour was booked and I would highly recommend her tour! We had a fantastic time with Drica! The veg tour was a birthday present for my partner and we took a friend and his dad with us too. We were all very new to Madrid or just visiting. Dricas tour therefore was the perfect mixture of learning about places, culture and of course food, trying new things, and spending the night out amongst friends. Drica herself is extremely friendly, talkative and easy to have a lot of fun with! The communication beforehand was already very smooth and she even recommend more vegetarian places to us to try after the tour. Drica, was a great host for the experience. We met at Mercado San Miguel and she explain a bit what we were doing around the market, and after. Overall we had a great experience, without giving out details (for the surprises part) we had a total of two drinks, and three eating items. All of the items felt (1) authentic and (2) delicious! I’ve been in spain for a few weeks before this tour and had some versions of the stuff we tried in the tour but the stuff from the tour was way better than any of the other versions I had before, so I hope that shows that she takes you to places that are *really* good, in fact, I would dare to say that those were one of my favorites bites in our trip. We were two, and the visit felt super personalized, with not only details about food but also culture from Madrid. Some people care about “accent” or English proficiency level and my comment on that is that she is highly proficient and natively easy to understand. The length of the tour felt perfect, and the items are space out enough with each other that you have space for more. My gf got full after the second one, I needed the third one. You definitely don’t leave hungry either by the way. Anyways, thanks to Drica, and hope this is a positive review that makes you want to book it. Also, if you let her know in advanced she can accommodate vegan options of the tour!Recommend it!

Drica provides an excellent, knowledgeable and fun tour. The Vegan Tapas tour was great and very helpful. We had fun walking around and learning the local customs and finding some good vegan/vegetarian tapas. We did the tour on our first day and were able to use the knowledge she shared over the rest of our time in Madrid. We would never have known about the local Vermouth without Drica!! We enjoyed our first tour with Drica so much we met her two days later for a tour of the Prado. If you are to see the highlights of this this vast museum you really need a guide ( at least for the first time) Her knowledge of art history and specific paintings and the routes round this amazing art collection made the tour worthwhile and rewarding. Did this tour with my sister and daughter who are both vegetarians. Drica was very knowledgeable and took us to three separate locations for typical Spanish fare: vermut, paella, tortilla and churros - all vegetarian versions. She gave us a lot of the history of the locations and the city. She was really enjoyable to spend time with and her love for Madrid was evident. This was one of our highlights during our 4 nights in Madrid. I only wish we did it on the very first night as Drica really does show you some amazing vegetarian options which I would have liked to try again if we had the time! Our tour was accompanied by a very dramatic down pour of rain which didn't stop Drica and didn't stop us. This is a testament to Drica's character which makes her the perfect guide and I will definitely consider other tours by Drica on my next visit to Madrid. Rain, hail or shine - a must-do tour!

Drica is fabulous and this tour was great. This was our first night in Europe and in Madrid, and we were hoping for a lively but comfortable introduction to Madrid and its food culture. My daughter is vegetarian, so we knew the food-part could be a challenge. This tour with Drica was an excellent way to get to know a beautiful neighborhood and how to find they type of food and drink we can enjoy for the rest of our trip. I'm a student from the US currently studying abroad in Madrid, and although I've been here for 4 months, it was awesome to get a local's point of view! Not only did I do this tour once, but I did it TWICE. Neither tour disappointed. I had family visiting both times, and a tapas tour was the perfect way to show them Madrid while also letting me eat some AWESOME food. I am vegetarian as was my Dad, and every place we went was accommodating. Spain is not a very vegetarian friendly country so I was extremely impressed with all the food!! I would do this tour another 100x over! Drica knew so so much about Madrid and taught me a lot while keeping my stomach more than satisfied. Whilst wandering around the tourist spots is great, nothing beats getting off the tourist trail and doing something the locals only know about. Drica was so friendly, knowledgeable and good company. The tour was so good and we really felt we were seeing and experiencing something different. Vegetarian tapas was a challenge but she found some cool places to eat and we loved everything. Favourites were the vermouth, the runny tortilla and of course, the churros and chocolate. A great night and so much more interesting than just going out for dinner. I would recommend to anyone and everyone. The best part of our trip to Madrid!

Drica had the difficult task of taking a group of six, three of whom had special dietary requirements, on a tapas tour. She did amazingly well, at each stop everyone could have something. She even found a chocolateria which served gluten free churros dipped in chocolate for me!! Drica is multi lingual and speaks fluent English but we asked her to speak Spanish in order to improve ours. She is a fount of local knowledge having lived in Madrid for 8 years and we felt we got to see and understand more of the Real Madrid. We met Drica at the Mercado San Miguel and her bubbly personality ensured that the tour set off on a good note. with a coeliac amongst our number we had asked her to see what she could do Gluten free and she succeeded. We started with vermouth and then paella, both within the Mercado. Whilst enjoying these offerings (although the paella was perhaps not the best) Drica responded to questions as well as giving us a potted history of the area. Not only that, she was willing to help us as we tried to both understand and speak Spanish....she showed amazing patience! As we walked through La Latina she continued to regale us with stories of the area and then we reached our next stop where we enjoyed amazing tortilla, moist and tasty, and two types of croquettas whilst tasting a local beer ( with wine happily replacing the beer for our coeliac). Our final stop, for churros and chocolate did not look so enticing, but they did gluten free churros, Drica had found the only place in Madrid who offered them, and they did not disappoint. In fact, I think they were better than those we tasted at a well renowned chocolateria the following night! Thank you, Drica, for looking after us so well. Tapas

Drica led us through a nice tour esp with my dietary restriction of being a vegetarian. Her English is very good and she gave us some good explanations. We had 3 stops altogether. The only thing that I think could be better is the variety of food. I also felt that she could do well to modify things for kids esp. since two of the 3 in my group were kids. I would recommend her for a food tour. A food tour is a great way to understand local culture.Nice vegetarian tapas tour

We took the Private Vegetarian Tapas Tour in La Latina with Drica in Madrid b/c two of my kids are vegetarian. It was great - Drica was lovely and took us to four places where we had different types of veggie tapas. All were delicious - even for a carnivore like me. My only suggestion is to possibly skip the San Miguel market b/c it's so darned busy and chaotic that it's hard to have an enjoyable/relaxing time.We had fun!

Drica made us feel right at home in the fantastic atmosphere of Lavapiés. It felt like being with an old friend with wonderful communication skills and excellent English. One has to understand the cultural importance of street art in Madrid, but also specifically in Lavapiés to truly appreciate the city. A must do with Drica. Drica was a great guide, showing us her favorite art pieces, giving a bit of historic and local context and recommending good adresses. It was a great way to discover the district of lavapies with a more local view, and enjoy some typical vermut in the neighborhood market. It really felt like diving straight into a community and lively district, while understanding the recent gentrification problems and changes it is facing. I scheduled this tour with Drica on my husband’s birthday as a surprise. Drica was truly wonderful and friendly, adjusted herself to our interests and preferences. The tour in Lavapies was so nice and relaxed, on a Saturday morning. She walked us through all the street art, was really knowledgeable about the history and uniqueness of every area and Madrid. Wow…Drica was welcoming, accommodating, and someone that really was genuine about showing us Madrid’s rich and thriving culture. I think we walked about 3-4 miles with her and at every corner she had something historic to mention from streets to fountains to building structure.
