We had an excellent experience with Lux and his driver visiting the floating village and some of the more remote temples making it a full day excursion. Lux is very knowledgeable being able to explain what we were seeing and answering all our additional questions, and both he and his driver also had an extra service touch such as cold water and cold refreshing scented towels throughout the day. I had the pleasure of going on a tour with Ngoun while visiting the Kampong Phluk floating village near Siem Reap and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Ngoun was an excellent guide - his English was perfect, which made communication easy, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and its culture. He was also very friendly and made sure we were comfortable and having a good time throughout the tour. He also took great photos of my wife and me and knew the best places to capture the beauty of the village. In addition to being a great guide, Ngoun is also just a really nice guy. We had an amazing tour to the floating village Kompong Plouk together with our local guide Lux. Lux is very knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. The tour was perfectly organized and the timing for every place we visited was the best in order to avoid bigger groups of tourists that were visiting the village the same day. We learned very much about the life of the locals, and saw many interesting places that are not standard tourist destinations like the local marked close to the village. Apart from being a really good guide Lux is a good photographer and a nice person giving us good advices during the tour and making us feel comfortable. Abbiamo chiesto un tour personalizzato, il primo giorno siamo state benissimo, abbiamo visitato il villaggio galleggiante di Kombom ploc, abbiamo mangiato a casa di Lux la nostra guida con la sua splendida famiglia. Il secondo giorno avevamo chiesto di visitare i templi in Jeep. Ad accompagnarci un’altra guida, invadente, che parlava troppo (ma non dava informazioni sui templi) e soprattutto ci era stato detto che i ticket per i templi (37 dollari a testa ed eravamo in due) erano inclusi nel prezzo, invece assolutamente no. Così era anche descritto sull’offerta. Invece abbiamo dovuto pagare per il ticket. La guida si è giustificata dicendo che noi avevamo chiesto il tour in jeep che costava molto, io gli ho risposto che loro comunque nell’offerta personalizzata mi avevano inserito i ticket di ingresso perché se l’avessi saputo certamente sarei andata in tuk tuk a vedere i templi! E non certo in jeep. Spero che si sia trattato di un errore e che la prossima volta sia più chiaro ed onesto! Primo giorno fantastico secondo no!

Ich habe eine Tour bei Ngoun zu den schwimmenden Dorf am Kompong Plhouk gebucht. Ich wurde pünktlich an meinem Hotel von Ngoun abgeholt und im klimatisierten PKW ging unsere Fahrt zum See. Es war während meiner Reisezeit gerade Trockenzeit und das Dorf mit seinen auf Stelzen gebauten Häusern stand nicht im Wasser, weil der Pegel des Sees zu niedrig war. Das wusste ich vorher und empfand es nicht besonders schlimm. Eher im Gegenteil, wir konnten so durch zu Fuß durch das Dorf gehen. Es wurde sehr viel zu allem erklärt. Danke dafür an dieser Stelle. Wir hatten auch die Gelegenheit ein Haus und seine Bewohner zu besuchen und das alltägliche Leben dort kennen zulernen. Wirklich eine tolle Sache. Es gibt im Dorf eine Menge zu sehen, vor allem die waghalsigen Konstruktionen der Bambusbrücken. Unglaublich...Zum Abschluss gab es noch eine Bootsfahrt auf den See in ein schwimmendes kleines Lokal zum Sonnenuntergang. Einfach Klasse. Tolles Erlebnis. Ich kann die Tour mit Ngoun nur empfehlenVisit Kompong Plouk Village/Floating Village at Tonle Sap and Local Village.

One of the most important qualifications for a great tour, especially when you need to be up and out by 4:30 am, is to have a great tour guide. Coming down to our lobby, Lux and his driver were already waiting for us. Lux speaks excellent English and his experience with this tour was evident by getting us to a great vantage point of watching the sun rise at Angkor Wat, guiding us through the early morning dark to sit on the moat. After watching a beautiful sunrise, Lux guided us to various parts of Angkor Wat, giving background and history as we exchanged information on relative historical and religious events. Cold water was provided throughout and we broke in between to eat at a small restaurant where there were plenty of choices that appealed to a western pallet (we recommend the banana pancakes) and service was great. We then continued on our tour with Lux and returned back to our hotel just as the hottest part of the day was emerging. Angkor Wat is huge and many people take 3 days to tour it. Having a great tour guide like Lux made our one day trip extremely full and satisfying, as well as stress-free with the pick up, return and organization by Lux. We were taken on a truly wonderful tour by Lux and his driver. We were picked up punctually at our hotel at 5:00 and driven to Angkor Wat to experience the sunrise, then we entered the temple grounds and had plenty of time to look around. We also visited Ta Prohm and Bayon Temple. Throughout the entire journey Lux conveyed all the amazing historic facts - he is a fund of knowledge and we learnt so much about Cambodia, its history, customs and people. We booked Ngoun (Lux) for a 7-hour private tour of Angkor Wat with our 1-year-old son. We wanted to start at 9.30am instead of doing the sunrise tour, which was no problem for Lux. He was flexible for the rest of the day too - very useful and necessary when travelling with a small child! He adapted the day's plan to fit in with our needs and was very accommodating. The air conditioned minivan was a great place for the baby to nap throughout the day too. Lux was super friendly and knowledgeable and had lots of good facts to share about everything. We did two tours with Ngoun (Lux).. the 10 tasting tour and a city tour. Lux’s English is flawless and he is very knowledgeable about local ciulture and history. The food tour was great.. terrific local places and dishes altered to meet my dietary needs without a problem. Local drinks were missing though. We had a great day with lux, it stated so early, a 450am start. We made our way to the complex and was amazed at how many people were there already, but he knew cc a shortcut, we made our way to the wall to sit and wait for the sunrise, and then the people came and just kept coming . As if by magic, things began to brighten and the glow over the complex was fantastic,lux took us inside and showed where to wait for the real sunrise over the temple, he knew exactly where to go to get the best views, we then went to a few other less well known temples and he explained all the bits and legends, about the demons, then off to the elephant parade, showing us lots of things you would miss if you didn't have an experienced guide.A great morning at angkor wat

Lux demonstrated excellent knowledge about Cambodia, which is the main reason for the three-star rating. His expertise on the country's history and culture was evident throughout the tour. However, several aspects of the experience were disappointing: 1. Pacing & Guidance style: The tour felt rushed, with Lux constantly hurrying us along. This made it difficult to fully appreciate the sights and take in the atmosphere. Lux often walked ahead of the group, which made it challenging to hear explanations or ask questions. A more inclusive approach would have been preferable. 2. Tour duration: Despite paying for a private tour, Lux cut the experience short by two hours. This was particularly frustrating as there were numerous interesting temples within easy reach that we could have explored. 3. Value for money: Given the premium price paid for a private tour, the overall experience fell short of expectations. While Lux's knowledge was commendable, the tour's execution left much to be desired. For future visitors, I would recommend seeking a guide who balances expertise with better time management and a more attentive approach to their clients' needs.Yay and nay and the same time

We started off leaving our hotel at 04:40 so that we could buy tickets at the center (because we wanted a hard copy ticket for keepsakes). Lux took us to an awesome site to watch the sun rise over Angkor Wat…breathtaking!! We visited several temples during our experience, got to see a monastery with chanting monks, and added a couple different sites we wanted to see with much less tourists. Lux was able to answer all our questions and was very knowledgeable about the history of the temples.Bucket List Item Achieved!!
