This is not our first time in Venice, so we wanted something different, and so chose the food tour. Claudia exceeded our expectations in every way! In addition to teaching us about traditional Venetian foods, she taught and showed us lots of hidden gems and even took us up to a rooftop view of the city. And adapted it to aboid the super high steps of Rialto Bridge. Claudia is very friendly, smart, well educated and super fun!! It was like taking a tour from one of our family friends. I have to start by saying our time with Alex was our favorite part of our two days in Venice. She showed us the world of local Venice cuisine and embraced our adventurous food pallates. From showing us the best "Trammezino" and explaining how the Euopean tea culture impacted the local Italian treat to delicious fried anchovies in cheese, to the BEST hot chocolate cake we've ever tried. Giada was the perfect guide! Our friend had injured themselves right before the tour, and Giada was extremely accommodating and altered the course to limit walking and make it accessible. We got to learn so much about Venetian culture and eat a ton of amazing food. Giada also modeled the food perfectly to our tastes - and let our friend try out ordering in Italian! At the end we asked for her recommendations, which we ended up using as our itinerary for the rest of the trip. Each recommendation was amazing. We had a great morning with Giada! She took us on a sweet-savory-discovery tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. We started with traditional Venetian breakfast goodies and coffees; and rolled into cicchetti, cheeses, seafood, and gelato. Yum! Giada gave us a great background on the culinary history, preparation, and proper way to enjoy each dish. And as we walked to each stop, she shared some great stories about the neighborhoods, about the history of Venice, and more. The tastings at were just the right amount of food—because when we were done, we were on the right side of full and satisfied. Giada is clearly a pro at this, she always asked about our preferences and impressions, engaged us in dialogue about the city and our travels, and pivoted expertly when she realized that we had already discovered some of the places she had on our itinerary. Our daughter gifted us a Tasting Tour of Venice from "With Locals" for our recent vacation. Claudia was an absolute delight. We met at a central location where she inquired about any food allergies or likes and dislikes. We then spent almost 3 hours walking around the city, visiting small shops and cafes, trying different Ciccheti (small bites) as well as wine/beer tastes. She took us through numerous small streets and alleys, over many bridges, while explaining the history of the city, the local food culture, and various recent events. My husband Tom and I took the "10 Tastings of Venice" tour with Alexandra last week. We loved it! Alexandra guided us around Venice for three hours providing her insight into modern life in the city as well as some historical highlights. We tasted cicchetti and drank local wine in four locations. Alexandra is an enthusiastic, charming guide who answered all our questions and treated us really well. She lives in the city and knows a lot of the merchants - so we really felt like we were walking around the city with a local friend. My advice for people considering this tour is to arrive hungry and pace yourself with the bites, so you can taste them all. I highly recommend Alexandra as a guide for any Venice tour. We took the 10 tastings of Venice food walking tour with Claudia on our recent visit. It was my husband and I and our 3 year old daughter. With a 3 year old in tow you can imagine that any tour is always a gamble. Claudia is the child whisperer. From the moment we met she was so warm to our daughter (my husband and I too of course). She walked the perfect line of including her, while giving her the space to warm up to her (as children need sometimes). Claudia had such an ease with our child it is clear she spends lots of time with them (as she commented with her nephew). Within 20 minutes of the tour starting our daughter was choosing to hold Claudia's hand rather than ours as we spent 3 hours walking around Venice learning about the city, history, and enjoying several types of local cuisine (and beverages). Whether you are traveling as a couple or just adults, but especially if you have children, Claudia is the premier guide you could choose for your walking tour of Venice. Then we were off to places we would not have seen and if we saw it would not know its culinary history or expertise. We take food tours in every city that we visit, unfortunately this food tour was the most expensive with the least to offer. Although Genny is a lovely guide and we absolutely adored her the tour itself was disappointing. For a 100 Euro per person we only got to taste some cicchetis, fried seafood, fried sandwiches and rice balls and gelato. Although we don’t mind sharing between friends, there was only one to maximum two of the same Ciccheti to share which we had to bite of. We would really recommend getting more than one to share and cut it instead of asking for 5 people to bite of and pass on. For that price we really expected a little bit more. Highlight was the first place we visited and the access to the rooftop at Tedeschi Mall that you would usually have to book way in advance. We thought it was off to a great start but this was not the case. The gelato at the end was unfortunately also not very good compared to what we have had on a daily in Italy. 10 tastings of Venice set the wrong expectation.Venice

I chose a private tour because I walk slowly with a stick. I advised Genny before I booked and she agreed to take me on! Genny was very understanding, friendly and patient, she swopped the order of the walk around so that I was more likely to have a seat at the places we stopped for food. She was very knowledgeable and her English is great. It was a relief to be in an area which was less touristy and crowded. The food samples were delicious and I learnt a lot about Venetian food. I was introduced to Select Spritz, the venetian invented drink. The fish market was fascinating; fish we wouldn't normally see in UK such as whole swordfish. My husband agreed that this tour was the best part of visiting Venice. The tour was 3 hours but had frequent stops so I didn't find it too difficult especially as Genny walked at my pace. Alexandra was such an amazing guide for us, highlighting some of the best food and drinks Venice has to offer that we would have otherwise not known about. Alexandra also explained the backstory and history of Venice, giving us an even greater appreciation for everything on the tour. Knowing the staff at the eateries we visited allowed us to try things that would otherwise not be available to most tourists. She was an amazing resource for Venetian history, food, drinks and overall culture.
