Wow! We were absolutely blown away by our tour with Cris. She started the tour with a visit to the Antiquarium underneath the Metropol parasol, and then led us through a northern area of the city we probably otherwise wouldnβt have known to go to. The tour is exceptional, full of history and also hidden facts and surprises you would not see or hear about otherwise as a tourist. We even popped into one of her friendβs shows for a beer and a few songs, stumbled upon a back alley flamenco performance, and ended the night at a food market. Cris left us with a map and list of recommendations that we used to find a cool spot for dinner. Do not miss this tour if you travel to Seville, itβs very special.Hidden Gems Exceeded Expectations!

We met Chris at plaza triunfo for a tour around Santa Cruz and it far exceeded Expectations! Chris was very knowledgeable and told so many different parts of the history that we needed to write some things down to go back and learn even more!
I spent 6 months here years ago and learned so much that I never knew about
If you want to learn some secret beautiful spots in Sevilla then sign up ASAP. We had amazing tapas as well at some local spots that we would never find on our own

After a couple of changes to the schedule, which, thankfully, we were able to accommodate - we got to meet up with Cris!
An enthusiastic, and knowledgeable font of local knowledge, she lead us on a great tour of the area. We saw things we surely would not have found on our own - including an artists' community we had seen the day before, but not explored - with Cris, we learned so much more about the nature of shared spaces.
A fine couple of hours of new experiences!
Thanks, Cris!!!Good experience with Cris in Seville

We had a wonderful time. We didn't really know what to expect with this "alternative" tour, but we learned a lot and it was great seeing a different part of the city that we never would have explored otherwise.Loved it!
Lola and co-hostess provided me and travelling companion a lovely and accessible two-hour gripping insight into the contemporary scene of Seville's most history laden neighbourhoods with personal anecdotes and stories. Of course when limited with only two hours, one can only but glean superficial insights. Lola's outstanding introduction however will ensure a return trip and with any luck, she will be available to once again host.A delightful introduction to Seville's hidden gems

Connecting with Cristina was truly a good experience. She knows & started us off with a good history of the city and its background. My daughter and I enjoyed Cristina's presentation and her interaction with the residents that we came in touch with. We were fortunate to see the Thursday Market as part of our tour. Cristina clarified points of interest that I had questions about and made the tour seem shorter than it was. I was ready to continue longer. Bravo CristinaTravel with Locals

I don't think the sights that we were shown were that terribly interesting. Also Chris was a little hard to understand. She spoke very fast, had a very strong accent, and pronounced some English words with emphasis on the wrong syllable. My husband tuned her out about half way through because to him she was speaking a foreign language. It would be nice to hear about some of the actual artists that live and/or work in the areas we were shown.Chris shared some interesting sights

As part of a recent trip to Seville, my two daughters and I did a tour of La Macarena with Pilar. We have visited Seville on previous occasions and love the city, so were keen to do something slightly different.
Pilar was informative, knowledgable, interesting, extremely pleasant and friendly.
Would definitely recommend the tour.Informative, knowledgable, friendly

We had a great experience in Sevilla with Teresa. She is an excellent guide - knows so much about the city and is so enthusiastic to share her knowledge. Excellent tour of the hidden gems of Seville with Chris. We did several tours in the city and this was by far the best. Very knowledgeable, personable and articulate, we had a fascinating look at the less obvious parts of the city in the northern area and really enjoyed it. We would highly recommend this tour and will use Withlocals again. Excellent tour

My husband and I did three guided tours in Spain. Our tour with Teresa was special, because it was more of a localβs point of view. Teresa is very friendly and knowledgeable, she was my favourite guide of the three. Her tour provided history, architecture, and stories. It was vibrant, slightly eclectic, and very very interesting. It sort of was like we were hanging out with a friend showing us βherβ city and the neighbourhood in which she lives. Unique and exactly what we wanted

Chris was our guide for a couple of hours around the northern neighbourhoods of Seville. Walking with her gave us a look into the long history and struggles of the local inhabitants, from ancient right up till modern times. Our time with Teresa was both practical and profound. We were oriented to the city and took a walk through time. From 200 BC to today, Teresa showed us how the layers of history transformed the buildings, culture and people of Sevilla (and Spain). She explained how mosques were converted (pun intended) into churches, the relevance of orange trees for the past 2000 years, and why ham is such a staple in the Spanish diet. Teresa also introduced us to the story of Santa Justa and her sister Rufina, Sevillaβs first Christians (and arguably the cityβs first feminists). HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour and Teresa in particular - it is one of the most memorable experiences of our 17 days in Spain!
UPDATE: Two days later, we had a tour of the Cathedral and the Alcazar and were pleasantly surprised that Teresa was our guide again! Continuing the trend from our kickstart tour, Teresa pointed out intricate, historical details that one would normally miss, much less understand without the context she provided. Words canβt even describe how Teresa made our visit more meaningful and memorable - sheβs amazing!Sevilla!

Lola took us on a fascinating tour of her 'neck of the woods' La Macarena'. We wouldn't have visited if it hadn't been for 'With Locals'. She took us into a residential area inside the old city walls that took in Feria Market (great tapas bar that we went back to), the Alameda de Hercules promenade and the last remaining section of the old Arab wall! Brilliant!Truly "with a local"

I booked a tour with Lola because of the Good revieuws and was excited to do the tour. When I called to meet I understood that Lola was not coming but somebody else . Christine was our guide , a very Nice sweet young lady / student history , who was very polite She was doing her best to make the best of it .
Unfortunately despite clearly a lot of effort , she was not able to bring across her information clearly, her pronouncation in english was poor,so it was difficult to understand her , furthermore there was No clear story line, and we Did not see any hidden gems and pearls as described/ marketed by the description of the ad in within locals . The tour was a big dissapointment and absolutely expensive compared to what we received. I think that Lola should inform people that she is not coming so they can decide if they still want to do the tour . I wouldnt book this tour! I feel sorry bcz Christine isa Nice person but not a strong one in telling tales and interesting storyβs .dont book this tour Disappointment !!

If you want to walk into the bloody history of Sevilla, we can truly recommend Penelope. She knows everything, tellβs you some good stories and show you a part of Seville, you would not have seen, if not for her. And then you should ask her about the bird in the picture on the wall of one of the churches.

Lola and Pilar were very accommodating, getting making a new time available for their Spanish Inquisition tour. They coordinated us to meet with a local Sevilliano, Maria, over the bridge in the Triana. Maria was so sweet, informed, and passionate about the culture and history of her city. She was endlessly patient as she walked us through the old castle, roads, and placas retelling stories in interesting ways and answering a myriad of curiosities that came. We really adored her and our time. A wonderful way to get a taste of the city and in a very low key way, away from tourists and shops. Thanks again.

Penelope was our guide in Seville. While she was very kind, our group felt like there should be less focus on the cathedrals and more on life in and about Seville. We covered very little of Seville and wished for a higher energy tour which covered more of the highlights of Seville and certainly, more territory. The tour seemed to be too concentrated in one small area. Penelope had some interesting stories to share for sure. Folklore and tales are a great added value but less emphasis on churches would have been nice! Thank you.Walk About Seville

We actually toured with Penelope, as Lola and Pilar were away. Penelope was friendly, very knowledgeable and obviously loved her neighbourhood. So much more relaxed than the usual guided tour; it was like she was one of us, out for a stroll! We visited spots we never would have thought to seek out for ourselves, such as a convent to buy cakes from the nuns through a secret hatch! The whole tour was very worthwhile and I'd definitely recommend it. Highly recommend this tour.

Daniel was our guide and we really can't say enough about him. He knows so much about the history and culture of Seville that he held us captivated all afternoon - even in the 90 degree heat!
He spent so much time with us that by the end we almost felt like locals ourselves. He was patient with our teenagers talking all of their pictures and selfies. He took us to places that we would have never found ourselves and he gave us such great recommendations for the rest of our visit. If you are in Seville - Daniel is the tour guide you really must have!

Hi Pilar, As Bram already did send a review I didn' t write one yet but I like to write one as well. It was very interesting and what do you know a lot about the history, I could tell a lot about Sevilla to our friends at home. I liked very much the hidden Gems , also due to the relation with my name :) The stories about the haunted buildings , the statue of the virgin and the prostitute, the inquisition and their chasing made it visible for us. We did have a wonderful meal in the recommended restaurant and afterwards we enjoyed the flamenco in your favorite bar. Muchos GraciasWalking Tour: Hidden Gems of Seville!

Our tour with Pilar was very nice. She was very kind and told a lot about the history of Sevilla and explained how the city became what it has become, alongside with telling much interesting facts and local myths. We could ask her anything we wanted, like where to go for the ultimate Flamenco-experience, or where the best local tapasbars where, and she replied accurately. We visited a good mix of churches, little streets and local commonplaces. Very recommendable!Walking Tour: Hidden Gems of Seville!

The guide we booked with was not the one who led our tour. Our guide was friendly and had interesting stories about a few specific locations near the main tourist attractions. She gave us a general overview of the different religious groups who have controlled Sevilla. However, she did not offer much in-depth knowledge or local perspective. She couldnβt answer some of our basic questions and the boat ride was somewhat underwhelming. Walking Around Seville
