What a great way to start our Hong Kong holiday, an afternoon walking, talking & checking out the local wet markets & street food. Emcee provided an awesome food tour. She showed me a ton of great spots to try out different foods and constantly had great recommendations. I’ve been in Asia for six months. Getting a deeper understanding requires a local perspective. Emcee was an excellent choice. She was fantastic. Her ability to articulate in both languages made the journey truly joyful and comforting. I asked her how she knew so many people. She didn’t. She was simply so friendly and casual, the waitresses and store owners responded with equal camaraderie. The food tour was incredibly tasty with local dishes that can not be easily found by newcomers. Let Emcee take you into the deep cultural pockets of the city. Smell the tofu sizzling in the clay pots. Taste deep fried milk and be careful, there is a way to eat dim sum if you don’t want to burn your mouth. Emcee and I had a wonderful time. Emcee was a great host, very knowledgeable about the little restaurants and stalls that serve great food but which without her advice you would not try yourself. The tour showed us a side of Hong Kong we would not have seen -night markets, local temples and gardens, chess players with many advisers watching, and so on. We had a great evening with Emcee exploring the flower markets, pet street and women’s markets with regular stops at hawker stalls for snacks and local desserts. These are all foods we wouldn’t have tried without being shown and we appreciated the experience of seeing this part of Hong Kong with someone who knows how things work. It was great to chat generally about Hong Kong and Emcee was able to answer quite a few of the questions we had after being in the city already a couple of days. On meeting her at the MTR very unorganised, she was helpful in directing us to ATM and sorting out the octopus card for our 4hr experience. I had a truly amazing experience with Emcee. With just a few hours to visit Hong Kong, as from 6 pm on a Saturday, Emcee had arranged to meet me in a metro station up Northwest in Kowloon. We visited every shop and street food stall of the neighbourhood and had a break on a delicious local restaurant on top of the market, where we ate the shellfish we had bought before! Then we carried on, buying food and drinks on the streets all the way down to the South, looking at every interesting spot and talking a lot. I even had my hand and face read and the old lady who did it was very useful indeed! Emcee is a very helpful guide, flexible to meet my agenda, and tought me a lot of interesting things in a very knowledgable way. I strongly recommend Emcee as your guide in Hong Kong.
