A fascinating look into the origins of Buddhism including the everyday role it plays in the lives of the Thai people. My daughter (9y) and I booked a tour with Jojo. We had good fun following her around Grand Palace and the flower market. My daughter really loved feeding the fish from the boat and the turtles at the temple. It was a very hot day and Jojo adapted the visit to our needs, including a stop for ice cream 😋. We took a 3 hour, 5 tastings food tour and Jojo is everything you would want in a tour guide! She was very accommodating to our limited time schedule (even picked us up in our hotel), selected places and food items that matched our dietary needs and gave us the opportunity to try things we would not have known to eat on our own. We went to Chinatown and experienced local Thai and Chinese influenced street foods, beverages and sweets. We walked through many small neighborhoods and she explained the history and culture. Nok has been wonderful with me and my 7 years old son. She made all the visits very convenient, was accommodating and knowledgeable about everything she showed us: both of us knew a lot more about Thai culture and history after the tour. Araya was excellent. She has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Bangkok. She must have studied and prepared herself as she know the different rulers and their accomplishments and contributions to Bangkok's history. She is also very flexible in coordinating your tour making sure to cover the majority of the sights you want to see within the given time frames. She is also very calm and reassuring - we were together having a meal at the Icon Siam Mall when the earthquake hit Bangkok. Once we realized what was going on she calmly escorted ourselves out to safety. The building was swaying and I kept an eye on the ceiling making sure that it was safe to exit. Once outside she calmly went through the different alternatives on how to get me back to my hotel which was more than 5 miles away. Keep in mind the City in Bangkok was locked down. The rail and subway systems were closed, the taxi's weren't taking any customers, the motorbikes weren't taking any customers either. Traffic was at a standstill. We ended up taking a boat ride across the canal and walked back to the hotel after waiting to see if the subway or rail system would start up operations. The only system open that had moving traffic was the expressway. This overall experience was exciting and I was glad that Araya was with me the whole time. Thank youSee and Learn about Bangkok

It was such a pleasure exploring Bangkok and its hidden Gems with Nok. She was a fantastic guide and showed us real hidden gems (e.g. turtle feeding for our children in a temple), she explained Buddhist traditions so vividly and everything was perfectly organized (meetings, transportations, snacks …). I've had great experiences with WithLocals before. This particular tour guide was a fail. He did not take us on any kind of tour. He shared no knowledge, and had nothing to say. It was incredibly weird. We quit the tour after less than an hour.Not good.

Nok was very good at communicating on WhatsApp about our meeting point. She was always smiling, easy to understand and answered any questions our group of four had. We toured various districts, including the red light area and night food market, where she treated us to some delicious food and drinks. Unfortunately, we had signed up for this tour several months earlier and after many busy days of sightseeing, including an eight hour tour earlier the same day, we were quite tired, so ended the tour after two hours at 10:00 pm. Araya was very kind. When at the floating market she was sure to find us the best deals on anything we were looking for. She went out of her way to welcome us. I do wish we could have shopped a bit more at railway market as well as be in the action ( like in one of the shops) when the train passed. Overall we felt well cared for and really enjoyed our day!!

Nok came to pick us up from our hotel. She was instantly warm and friendly. She told us a lot of information that was really interesting on our journey to the railway market. She went out of her way to get us a good view of the train at the railway market. It was very very busy but we got some good photos. She asked us if we would prefer a paddle boat at the floating market. We chose a paddle boat and It was really good fun. Nok showed us where to eat lunch and helped us order it. We learnt a lot from Nok about Thai culture. She was also eager to learn from us. She taught us some words in Thai. We taught her some in English. She then went out of her way again by returning a gift I had bought and put in her bag. When she dropped us off I had forgotten about it. She text me to tell me she was going to return it. We had a great time with Nok on our tour. We have two kids (7 and 9) and Nok was very patient with them and worked hard to ensure they (and we) got the most out of the tour. She was very generous with her time and waited patiently even though we arrived a bit late. At one point we got a bit weary as it was hot and she responded by suggesting we had a break for a cold drink and took us to a lovely cafe. We asked about some fruit we'd not seen before and she bought us a sample to try! She is very knowledgeable about the city and it's history and kept us engaged with interesting facts and stories.
