We toured Barcelona with Octavio in July ‘25. We did a 3 hour walking tour and it was great. He took us beyond the main sites and provided great insight and explanations. We had two teenage boys and the brief was to keep it high energy and entertaining. Octavio did this - interesting stories, food markets and a detour to the best Churros in town! He left us with a heap of restaurant, bar and ice cream recommendations, so we benefitted from his guiding for several days thereafter. My entire family wants to say a big “Thank You” to Bianca for being such an outstanding guide during our recent visit to Barcelona. After the airline unexpectedly cancelled our arrival flight, we arrived in town a day late and a bit stressed because we missed our originally booked 10 Tastings tour with another guide. After seeing that Bianca was available, the best decision we made was to book a three hour tour with her of the Gothic quarter. She is an excellent communicator who captured the attention of our teens by sharing her personal stories and excitement for the city. Our youngest child has some special challenges, and without us having time to discuss the situation with her beforehand, Bianca intuitively understood how to best navigate the situation in a way that worked for every person in our group. Bianca was also able to include some food tastings when making our way between sites, which made it possible for us to not miss out on some fun eats along with the sight seeing. Bianca’s compassion and knowledge as a local were a winning combination that really saved the day and made our trip to Barcelona a true adventure. I would not hesitate to recommend Bianca for a booking. My wife and I were in Barcelona for three days following a 2-week Mediterranean cruise, and we had no plans in place. I found Ivanna on the "With Locals" website... it was somewhat last-minute, but thankfully she was available. Our 4-hour personal tour was excellent. She started by showing us (and teaching us about) the sights and architecture around La Rambla. She even showed us a "hidden" Roman wall that most people - including many who live in Barcelona - were unaware of. As she learned more about our interest in the culture, people, and history, she walked us through the old, and new, sections of the city. She pointed out architectural points, even explaining that one of the most famous churches in the Gothic district wasn't actually original to that time, even though it looks like it should be - and she had photos to prove it! She gave us history lessons, told us stories, and helped us to "feel" the city we were visiting. We stopped for a drink at one of her favorite locations - Els 4 Cats - where Picasso used to meet with his friends... and then she was kind enough to introduce us to the owner and surprised us with reservations for dinner there the next night. Bottom line, Ivanna offered us not only the best private tour we've ever experienced, she shared herself and her love of the city with us... she was wonderful. I ended up stranded due to my travel partner ending up in a hospital in Barcelona. I booked Lusi at the last minute and she took the booking even though she was an hour away with friends and family on a Sunday. I can truly say that she was incredible! Lusi puts so much energy and thought into her tour. She brought me to such interesting and important locations in the city of Barcelona. She provided facts and history of each place. Lusi is so fantastic. She is fun and spontaneous and so down to earth. She is multilingual and so well traveled and that experience of hers right there definitely gives her tours a unique perspective. I loved my tour with Lusi because she showed me so many places in Barcelona that are cute and where actual locals go. I only had three and a half days in Barcelona and it’s because of her that I was able to maximize my experience and go to so many places in such a short time without feeling like I missed out on anything. We have explored the Gothic quarter and El Born with Bianca. We spent 3 lovely hours during which we were informered extensively on the history and architecture in both quarters. Bianca (with a background in architecture) knows all details of every tiny spot. She is a humerous person with a great knowledge on history and architecture, but also Spanish and Catalan culture. She brought some great tools such as a city map and Ipad to deepen her stories even more and provide further context. Last but not least she arranged a great lunch spot for us, one of her favorites in town. We had lovely tapas and sangria there, one of the best we had during our trip. My husband and I went on a Barcelona city walking tour with Lluis. He said we could personalize our tour, but since it was our first time and our first day in Barcelona we didn’t have enough knowledge of the city to know which sites to see first. He didn’t have a plan and seemed hesitant to propose a plan - but we insisted so he finally did. At most of the sites we visited he provided some history, but as mentioned by another reviewer in July, it all seemed focused on the oppression of Catalonia at the hands of the central government. Sometimes the history was very relevant, but this theme and his political views kept coming up over and over again. While we are very sympathetic to the horrible treatment of the Catalan people historically, his negative attitude and unplanned approach to this tour made it a poor experience for us. Wir, die „Reisetruppe Detlef Leuschner' verbrachten am 16.09.24 ein paar erlebnisreiche Stunden mit Lusi. Ihre fröhliche und humorvolle Art nahm uns sofort ein und es begann ein sehr abwechslungsreicher, informativer Stadtrundgang. Es ging zielstrebig durch enge Gassen in wunderschöne kleine Lädchen, die wir allein niemals gefunden hätten. Die Säulen des EL TEMPLE D'AUGUST oder das Jüdische Bad ließen uns staunen. Überall hatte Lusi viel Wissenswertes zu berichten. Sie ging auf unsere Wünsche ein, warnte uns immer wieder vor Taschendieben und ließ sogar weihnachtliche Stimmung beim Besuch eines Ladens mit unwahrscheinlich viel Weihnachtsdeko aufkommen. Lebensfroh und auch ein bisschen verrückt zeigte Lusi uns viele kleine Ecken von Barcelona die wir ohne ihre Führung nie hätten kennengelernt. Elvira was absolutely amazing. We had a tour of Parc Guell and Elvira made it interesting for both myself and my 3 children. Knowing that we had a short stay, she then told us on the subway and gave us a tour of the gothic quarter which was fascinating and would have been something we would have missed if Elvira hadn't guided us there. So amazing and fulfilled all of our requests whilst being friendly and getting the children involved and interested.Fantastic and personal experience
