While a very pleasant person, Michal knew and shared very little context about even the most basic background and history of Bergen despite it being an introductory tour. He knows a few restaurants in town and that’s about it.Overrepresented Himself

We had a very sociable and informative stroll round Bergen with Shafaq - bits of history, interesting suggestions for museums, directions regarding shopping, photo hotspots, food recommendations (and I’d say wait until you’ve spoken to Shafaq before you book dinner as I think she may have the best knowledge for every type of food!!). We certainly discovered places we wouldn’t necessarily have been to ourselves and followed up some of her ideas for the rest of our time in Bergen. It was our first time to Bergen (and Norway for that matter). Shafaq met us for a 3 hour private tour or Bergen city highlights, which was a perfect way for us to get acquainted with the city that we would be spending the next several days. She was great at telling us the history of various locations we visited, and she was a great personal photographer! But I would say the best part what that she gave us lots of great suggestions as to what to do the next several days on our own, including where to buy tickets, restaurants to try, etc. As we spent our remaining days we kept saying to each other "Shafaq said to go here... Shafaq said to eat here...". The advantage of hiring a private guide!!The perfect tour!

Michal was a fun, energetic, and easy-to-talk-with guide who made our food walking tour enjoyable and memorable. We especially liked the impromptu gin and aquavit tastings, which added a spontaneous and fun touch to the experience. We had an amazing late afternoon with Michal taking us around Bergen tasting food at 10 of his favorite spots! Starting and finishing off with some special Norwegian treats that Michael brought along added a special touch to our experience. It was as if we were touring the town with an old friend. We had alot of fun with variety, some nice ideas and concept , shame about the rain which then a plan B would have been better as in an alternative dry place to eat and drink It was actually expensive and we were surprised we paid for the 6 beers in the restaurant at the beginning as had understood it was food and alcoholDifferenet fun food tour

It turned out that Shafaq was from the same city/neighborhood as me! Despite being a recent immigrant to Norway/Bergen, Shafaq was extremely knowledgeable of the history and culture of Bergen and Norway. The fact that she knew all the photo-worth spots was an added bonus (especially for my wife :-)) We had a great time walking around Bergen with Shafaq and would highly recommend her as a guide.A small world!

I highly recommend Shafaq. We had a great time. Her English was very good. She helped us with places we wanted to go later by taking us near and showing us how to get there like the funicular. She provided history of Bergen and Norway; a wonderful local food tasting spot; and a lovely walk around the historical places around Bergen. Eclectic Food & Drink of Bergen Norway! Spending time with Shafaq and exploring unique food stops in the Bergen, Norway central area was a fantastic treat! The consummate host, Shafaq took us to 3 Kroneren for an absolutely delicious Reindeer Hot Dog! Then we went to Fisketorget to explore this stunning fish store filled with a wonderful assortment of fish. We had a wonderful sampling of some of the best prepared mussels that I have ever had, along with a sampling of Minke whale—delicious! And, this was complemented by the best glass of Aquavit! Then we strolled over to sostrene Hagelin where we tasted some wonderful fish cakes, fish chowder, and salmon roll-ups. And, again, absolutely delicious! And, then our final stop was at Deli Luca and had some wonderful sweets with coffee! Our experience was most memorable and we will cherish our time with Shafaq. She introduced us to wonderful Norwegian food while we also learned about Norwegian Culture. Thank you Shafaq! Eclectic Food & Drink of Bergen Norway!

We appreciate so much when we get to enjoy a host like Michal! He was effectively communicative leading up to our tour and he went ABOVE and BEYOND to provide us with so much more than we expected! Some of the things we ate were genuinely some of the best foods we’ve had in our lives! My advice to his future groups, let him know if you don’t eat seafood. Fortunately, we are adventurous eaters and we love seafood, which is abundant in Norway. Anyway, thank you Michal!
