Emoke took us for a 3 hour tour in Pest which included a metro ride and a visit to the most incredible cafe, the cakes were to die for. Her commentary was really interesting and we loved hearing all about the country’s history. Would definitely recommend Emoke. Great tour from a knowledgeable guide

Éramos un grupo de viajes organizados y yo era la coordinadora. Por lo que escribo en nombre de todas las clientas. Queríamos a alguien local y no participar del negocio de las grandes empresas y por eso contratamos con withlocals, pero fue decepcionante. 1- LLEGADA: Dalma llegó 45 min tarde y todo ese tiempo estuvimos esperándola en la plaza pasando mucho frío. Aunque escribió diciendo que iba de camino 15 min antes del tour, a las 12.00h (hora de inicio del tour), no pude contactar con ella, a pesar de escribirle varios mensajes. Respondió muy tarde, diciendo que venía de camino, y luego, media después de la hora de inicio, volvió a contactar diciendo que le quedaban otros 10 min y que podíamos entrar en un café. Para ese entonces ya estábamos muertas de frío. No pasa nada si una guía está enferma, todos somos humanos y nos enfermamos y podemos llegar tarde, pero debe AVISAR al cliente, sobre todo cuando la temperatura es de 5°C , y también debe CONTACTAR con el cliente y atender los mensajes. Yo soy guía profesional en mi ciudad y estoy acostumbrada a dar ese trato. A todas nos pareció una falta de profesionalidad y una falta de respeto al cliente. Cuando llegó por fin, apenas tuvimos una muy simple disculpa. Se presentó y empezó a explicar directamente, sin preguntarnos de dónde veníamos, si era la primera vez que visitábamos la ciudad y esas cosas que esperas de un tour privado. 2- EXPLICACIONES: fue un tour en el que faltaron muchas cosas por ver. Es un tour de 3 horas en las que sólo visitamos la Plaza de los Héroes, la Ópera, la pastelería y la Basílica. Yo he estado en Budapest anteriormente y sé que tiene mucha más historia que esto. El tour no incluyó el Parlamento, los zapatos en la orilla del Danubio, el río, explicación de la zona de Buda, el mercado central o la sinagoga. Ni siquiera explicó anécdotas como por ejemplo las estatuas de gente corriente por la calle o algunas cosas sobre el holocausto. Es cierto que las explicaciones de lo que vimos fueron interesantes, por eso he puesto algunas estrellas, pero siento que para 3 horas de tour fue absolutamente incompleto. 3- BREAK: hicimos una parada para comer. Aunque lo que estaba previsto para comer eran pasteles, a las 14.00h teníamos mucha hambre (empezamos el tour con casi una hora de retraso) y debíamos comer el almuerzo, así que pedimos de comer. Sinceramente, todas hubiéramos preferido emplear ese tiempo en explorar la ciudad y así habríamos comido algo antes del inicio del tour. Ese tiempo Dalma lo empleó en escribir las fechas importantes de la historia de Hungría y darnos un mapa con los lugares para visitar, algo que no estuvo mal. En general, esperábamos muchísimo más de un tour privado con un guía local. La próxima vez, si el guía está enfermo y no puede realizar el tour, creo que debe dar la opción al cliente de hacerlo en inglés con otro guía o cancelar. Decepcionante

Together with Szofia we went onto an exciting walk around Budapest. The tour was very well organized and perfectly tailored to my taste, despite the fact that multiple places were still closed due to the holiday season. Szofia is a true local, not only well versed in the history of Budapest and Hungary but also very much involved into the modern life of a city and genuinely passionate in describing it. We went together through more than a thousand years history of Budapest, starting from Hunns, crossing the Medieval, Imperial, and Soviet epochs, and coming up to the ruin pubs and the modern gentrification trends of today. Not to forget the beauty of Danube and the little hidden gems such as a local street food or a sudden deja-vu feeling triggered by suddenly stumbling at a place I've seen in a spy movie, apparently shot in Budapest. He communicated very well with me on the app before the tour started to arrange meet up details, accommodated our change of start time request and then for the tour itself took us to many very interesting sights including some wonderful views of Budapest at the top of Gellért Hill. It was my first visit to Budapest and I wanted to explore so many places of interest in a relatively short time. Tiberiu took me a tour around Budapest city center, which has a lot of historical places. The reason I prefer a walk tour rather than other types of tour by bus or car is that I get the first hand information and experience to actually in the places I visit. Tiberiu gave brief yet interesting stories behind each and every building and places we visited. In about three-hour walk we covered so many places, such as the Great Synagogue, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Buda Castle. It was a time well-spent and I look forward to take a different tour in my future trips to Budapest. I would highly recommend Tiberia should anyone plans to visit Budapest.A Great Day in Budapest!

We were meeting up from Germany and Colombia for a few days in Budapest. Dalma gave us a very good framework to understand the history and the historical developments in Hungary while always pointing out options for further discovery. We had a great time with Emoke. She is very knowledgeable and clearly loves her country. She spent time sharing the history of Hungary and how the country we see today came into existence. She paced our tour to suit our needs and, as we had travel passes, used the public transport system to allow us to see more of the sights, without the need to walk long distances between places. This allowed us to go from city park right up to Buda Castle. Her English is outstanding and she made our visit to Budapest so enjoyable. 10/10 I went on a great tour with Nick yesterday! Nick is a wonderful and engaging storyteller and guide. He not only granted my wish to see major sights in both Buda and Pest but also helped me discover the city’s ‘hidden gems.’ This truly made me feel the ‘heart’ of the city with him as my local friend. He made me feel very comfortable throughout the tour and clearly explained the historical significance of different places we visited. He also added a personal touch by sharing his own experiences of life in Budapest and also, by incorporating my interests. For example, he took me to a special mural which I appreciated for its relevance to my field of work. The tour was as memorable as it was also exciting. Mid-way into the tour, I realized I had dropped a small bag of sentimental value. Nick patiently retraced our steps back to the Bazilica and we found it nearby! My adrenaline rush was later put to good use with the perfect activity to finish the tour - a picturesque hike up to Buda Castle District. Nick helped me capture the history and beauty of Budapest not only in sight and mind but also through amazing photos he so kindly took of me in the best spots! He definitely knows the best way to see the city and be able to admire its breath-taking sights. I am taking wonderful memories and photos back with me of my time in Budapest. After the tour, I enjoyed a traditional Hungarian lunch at Drum Cafe as he recommended. If you are looking to experience Budapest’s history and heart, I highly recommend going on a tour with Nick! Gabor was the best. Very informative content, and presented in a way that told a great story about the city. He tailored the information and route to what he thought we would find interesting, and nailed it. He even had a scheduling issue come up, and more than made up for it by meeting us again later in the day at a spot he knew we would get a lot out of. Really good experience as a first time visitor in Budapest. Booked the 5 hour tour and it was a nice experience. Zsofia took the time to show me round the city with quite a few delightful detours. Cabbage strudel in one of the markets, the beautiful library, the Paris passage and the ruin bar in the Jewish district. And she was so kind, waiting with me for a while to get a taxi.
